2006 Dodge Magnum Sxt Wagon 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for auction is my 2006 Dodge Magnum SXT. I've had this vehicle since 2009 and it is a very reliable daily driver. The reason for selling is I needed a truck, otherwise it would still be my daily driver. There are no known mechanical issues, starts fine drives fine and rides great. If your familiar with these cars the front suspension bushings are prone to failure quickly and your tires will wear VERY QUICKLY. I have replaced EVERY bushing in the front suspension with Progressive Suspension polyeurethane pieces, except for the strut bushings which are made by White Line Racing based in Australia. There are new upper and lower A-arms with ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and struts. Basically a whole new front suspension. Engine oil was always amsoil synthetic, transmission fluid was changed at 100,000 miles (not required by Dodge, required by me lol). New brakes and rotors also.. Everything mechanically functions as it should. The body is in decent shape, a few rust bubbles where the rear bumper meets the body, please view pics. Also a few rust bubbles on the hood which is common on these cars. (also in pics). There is a small cut in the front bumper, very small crack in the rear bumper. I took pics of all of these. I hit a deer a few years ago and it broke the driver side headlight bucket and cracked the headlight on the inside. The light still works fine but cant be aimed. (Theres a pic of the headlight.. I considered doing the 300 front end conversion to this car, it is a perfect candidate!). It also cracked the factory intake which I replaced with a cold air intake. Interior is decent, normal wear and tear. No tears in seats or cracks anywhere. Air blows cold. There is an extra set of 4 factory 17" wheels exactly the same as the ones on the car. The car runs strong and gets good mileage. I averaged 31 highway mpg through the Carolinas last year on summer vacation! Any questions feel free to ask. Reserve is set reasonably for this vehicle. Thanks For Looking!! |

Performance doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the feel
Wed, Aug 24 2022We've just had a week of supercars and high-end EVs revealed. Many of them boast outrageous performance specs. There were multiple vehicles with horsepower in the four-figure range, and not just sports cars, but SUVs with 0-60 mph times under 3.5 seconds. And it's not just a rarified set of supercar builders, comparatively small tuners are also building this stuff. Going fast is easy nowadays and getting easier. So what will distinguish the greats from the wannabes? It's all about how a car feels. This may seem obvious. "Of course it matters that a car should have good steering feel and a playful chassis!" you say. "Why are you being paid for this stuff?" But a lot of automakers have missed the memo. This past week I spent some time in a BMW M4 Competition convertible, and it's a perfect example of prioritizing performance over experience. It boggles my mind how a company can create such dead and disconnected steering; the weight never changes, there's no feel whatsoever. The chassis is inflappable, but to a fault, because it doesn't feel like anything you're doing is difficult or exciting. The car is astoundingly fast and capable, but it feels less like driving a car and more like tapping in a heading on the Enterprise-D. I also happened to drive something of comparable performance that was much more enjoyable: a Mercedes-AMG GT. It was a basic model with the Stealth Edition blackout package, and even though it had a twin-turbo V8 instead of a six-cylinder, it only made 20 more horsepower. The power wasn't the big differentiator, it was (say it with me) the feel. While not the best example, the steering builds resistance as you dial in lock, giving you a better idea of what's happening up front. Pulses and vibrations come back to you as you move over bumpy pavement in corners. The chassis isn't quite as buttoned down, either, providing a little bit of body roll that tells you you're pushing it. It's also easier to feel when the car is wanting to understeer or oversteer, and how your throttle and steering inputs are affecting it. The whole thing is much more involving, exciting and fun. 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Stealth Edition View 8 Photos That's also to say nothing of the Merc's sounds. That V8 is maybe not the best sounding engine, but its urgent churn through the opened-up exhaust gets your heart racing. It also seems like it's vibrating the whole cabin, so you feel it as much as you hear it.
Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled
Sun, 24 Feb 2013A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.
Fiat Chrysler CEO says final merger talks with Peugeot going well
Thu, Jan 23 2020BRUSSELS — Fiat Chrysler's chief executive Michael Manley said on Wednesday that merger talks with Peugeot owner PSA to create the world's No. 4 carmaker are progressing well and he hopes to have a deal within 12-14 months. Speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of an industry meeting, he said he doesn't expect any major obstacles that could delay a final agreement. "Talks are progressing really well," Manley said about negotiations with the French carmaker ahead of a briefing by the European automotive association (ACEA), of which he is president. His comments come a month after the two carmakers agreed to a binding deal worth about $50 billion to combine forces in response to a slowdown in global demand and mounting costs of making cleaner vehicles amid tighter emissions regulations. Manley's timeline for completing the deal by early 2021 is in line with a forecast made by the companies in December. Fiat and Peugeot are now getting into the details of how the merger will work, including choosing which vehicle platforms — the technological underpinnings of a vehicle — will fit which products in a combined company. Because customers in different locations still prefer vastly different cars, there is room for multiple platforms in a combined group, Manley said. "That global platform is an elusive beast," he added. "This concept of a massive global platform in my mind is almost a myth, but that doesnÂ’t mean to say weÂ’re not going to recruit significant volume." Related Video:  Â
