Wheel-chair Accessible W/ramp 2005 Dodge Caravan Low Miles on 2040-cars
Houston, Texas, United States
I am selling our 2005 Chrysler Dodge Caravan SE, fully wheelchair accessible. It has 69,975 miles. This van is located in Houston, Texas. I have clear title in hand. The van had a full conversion done on it to make it wheelchair accessible. Adaptive Driving completely lowered the floor, installed an automatic push button ramp, air pump to lower the van so the ramp isn't as steep, all the buckles and straps for a safe wheelchair transport. I purchased this van for my Mother July 2013 from Adaptive Driving in Pasadena, TX. My mother suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and this van was perfect for her. After her passing, it's time to sell the van to someone who can definitely use it. She could wheel right into the van, and right in the front passenger seat location. The front passenger seat is able to be completely removed and a wheel chair can very easily be in that place. The drivers seat can also be removed. For about $1,200 they can install gas and break controls on the steering wheel if someone in a wheelchair wanted to drive. I have included photos showing with and without the seat. It takes 30 seconds to remove. It also had a DVD player built in. If you have a loved one who needs reliable transportation, a very wheelchair friendly vehicle, with an ice cold air-condition, this is the van for you. I searched for months trying to find the best vehicle for her needs, and for the best value as cost is always important. This did the trick. I did a lot of research in looking for a van for my Mother. This one definitely was the best I found. These handicap conversions are very expensive starting off $12,000+ just for the conversion to get it wheelchair accessible. But, when it's your only means of transportation you have to do what you have to do. I have the clear title. Van is located in Houston, TX. $20,500 OBO. Cash in person, Cashiers Check from Bank Purchase with confidence as my rating is 100% satisfaction. |

Buick takes top spot in 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
Tue, Jun 28 2022People, economies, and supply chains weren't the only things continuing to get sick over the past year. The 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) is out, showing the average rate of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership increased overall. The average figure for the 32 ranked manufacturers in 2020 was about 166 problems per 100 vehicles. In the 2021 IQS, that dropped to an average of 162. This year, the average jumps to 180 problems. J.D. Power says that figure is a record high over the 36-year history of the study. Buick leapt to the top of the rankings this year with the fewest issues, at 139 problems per 100 vehicles in the first 100 days of ownership. After Dodge became the first American automaker to lead the IQS in 2020, followed by Ram in 2021, this year marks a three-peat for U.S. carmakers. Dodge took second this year at 143 PP100, Chevrolet third with 147 PP100, Genesis the first luxury maker on the chart in fourth with 156 PP100. Between February and May, this year's study gathered responses to 223 questions from more than 84,000 new 2022-model-year car owners and lessees. The questions are designed to zero in on real-world problems new owners encounter with nine categories of vehicle features: Infotainment; features, controls and displays; exterior; driving assistance; interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience; and climate. As has been the case in the past few year, infotainment has proved to be the most problematic bugbear making scores worse. Considering features individually, six of 10 of the worst problem areas dealt with infotainment, causing infotainment's score of 45 PP100 to be 19.5 PP100 worse than the second-placed feature. Consumers ranked getting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to connect reliably as the most troublesome. GM didn't just score with Buick, which was one of only nine of the 33 ranked brands to show improvement this year. The conglomerate earned first place with the fewest PP100 among all the automaker groups, and scored the most model-level awards with nine, ahead of BMW with eight and Hyundai Group with three. This year's study again showed a gap between luxury and mass-market makers, thought to be down to the amount of tech in luxury vehicles that consumers aren't properly informed about or that doesn't act as expected — that latter issue exacerbated by the chip shortage.
Chrysler recalling 700k minivans and Dodge Journey for ignition switch woes
Tue, 01 Jul 2014General Motors isn't the only automaker with ignition switch problems. Chrysler is fighting it too and is now announcing a recall of 695,957 examples worldwide of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2008-2010 model years, plus the 2009-2010 Dodge Journey.
According to a statement from Chrysler, the models have a bad wireless ignition node detent ring in the ignition switch, making it possible for drivers to appear to have the key in the "Run" position but for the spring not to fully engage. It can then slip back to the "Accessory" position and shut the car off. If this happens, the vehicle loses power steering, brake boost and the airbags.
There is some disparity about the number of vehicles affected under this recall. In its statement, Chrysler claims that it covers 525,206 vehicles in the US, 102,892 in Canada, 25,591 in Mexico and 42,268 elsewhere. However, the recall announcement posted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists an estimated 438,109 vehicles in the US. Chrysler spokesperson Nick Cappa told Autoblog via email that the reasoning for the different figures "will become clear at a later date."
Chrysler recalling over 280k minivans because airbags may deploy on wrong side
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Chrysler has issued a recall for some 2013 Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram C/V Tradesman vans built between May 10, 2012 and June 7, 2013. These vehicles may have a software error that would cause the wrong side (opposite side) airbags to deploy in a crash. With this defect, a left-side impact would cause the right-side airbag to deploy, etc.
The recall affects 281,500 vehicles in total: 224k in the US, 49,300 in Canada, 2,900 in Mexico and 5,300 in other locations. Chrysler will notify owners of effected vehicles, and reflash the offending occupant restraint control module to resolve the issue.
