2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport Mini Passenger Van 4-door 3.3l on 2040-cars
Jefferson, Georgia, United States
Grand Caravan Sport - 2001
Great vehicle for the right person that can fix it up - or use for parts. Never been in an accident. Clean title. Please read the description below in full. While I'm not driving it now - if the A/C were fixed it would run and drive just fine. Mechanical: Mileage: 254,593 The check engine light comes on, but does not affect the performance of the car and it runs fine. I had the codes scanned, and it appears to be related to the EGR system. The A/C quit working about four months ago. It continued to run and drive just fine until about a month ago. The issue is that the pulley on the A/C compressor has become loose enough that the serpentine belt jumps off (therefore you loose power steering, battery charging, etc). If there was a way to keep the belt on without using the A/C compressor the van would still run just fine. It has a brand new belt by the way. The driver's window sometimes gets stuck when rolling back up. If you let it sit for a while it eventually rolls all the way up. The automatic lift gate and sliding door do not work, but can still open and close manually. All four tires were replaced within the past three months. Cosmetics: The windshield needs to be replaced. It had a small crack in the upper driver's site that grew across the whole windshield over time. There are scratches and wear in the normal areas around the tail gate and doors. In some areas the paint is chipping off. Headliner is sagging all over. There are currently thumb tacks holding it up in place. Van sold "As is" no warranty - not responsible for repairs. Local Pick Up Only (vehicle will not have a license plate) Buyer responsible for towing fees, tax, title and license fees. $200 due within 48 hours of end of auction via PayPal. Remainder due at time of pick up with either cash or cashier's check ONLY. |

Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?
2016 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats see doubled production
Mon, Jul 27 2015The launch of the Hellcat supercharged V8 in the Dodge Challenger and Charger for the 2015 model year was a massive success. The one-two punch of muscle cars probably grabbed the brand more headlines than it had seen in ages by offering a world-beating 707 horsepower from the growling engine under the hood. The only real wrench in the works was keeping up with all of the orders. For 2016, Dodge might have fixed that little problem with plans to make more than twice as many of these mean machines Despite production seeing a massive boost, a few customers with orders for 2015 examples will need to wait just a little longer to experience those 707 ponies. The automaker will cancel any unscheduled, sold orders for the current model, but those buyers will receive a discount on the 2016. Similar to last year, dealers will earn their allocation of the muscle cars based on Dodge sales and how long the Hellcats stay on their lots. There are some very tiny changes for any buyers who are holding out for the 2016 Hellcats, too. Mechanically, they are identical to the 2015s with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and eight-speed automatic. The interiors see some improvements, though. Both the Challenger and Charger now receive standard Laguna Leather upholstery and an improved 8.4-inch Uconnect system with navigation, an HD radio, and five years of SiriusXM Travel Link and Traffic. Orders for both open in the second week of August, and production actually begins in September in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
'Baby Driver' is a car chase movie set to music
Mon, Mar 13 2017The Fate of the Furious is certainly the 6,000-pound SUV in the garage of automotive movies, but that doesn't mean gearheads are starved for options. The upcoming film Baby Driver looks to be a winner for car guys, featuring exciting chases with cars including a "hawk-eye" Impreza WRX, a Dodge Challenger, and a 1980s Chevy Caprice. The movie is written and directed by Edgar Wright, whom you may know as the man behind movies such as Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. And based on the two trailers released so far, seen above and below, it's about a young man by the name of Baby, who is a getaway driver for criminals. He's apparently the best in the business, and the secret to his success is the music he listens to while he's driving. He also wants out, but his boss, played by Kevin Spacey, has no intention of letting him go. Spacey is one of a number of major stars in the film, including Jamie Foxx and John Hamm. The driving action shown in the trailers definitely looks entertaining. The WRX is seen doing an array of drifts and J-turns. There is some driving precision on display here that wouldn't be out of place in a Gymkhana video. And it looks like Wright's attention to detail in his shots and transitions, as well as some solid comedy relief, are all going to be present. The film comes out this August.
