hi and thnx. back in '04-05, jeep was knocking the explorer, chevy tried with the (trail)blazer, but it was Dodge that really nailed it in my mind. just the right size, body on frame construction, great 4.7 V8 standard with AWD. this recent body style change made the difference even greater. nicely styled, modern interior, plenty of room and a great value. this is a nice one owner vehicle with just 64k actual miles, and it looks it.
this Dodge is a little unusual in that it was as give back to the bank (I have title and all paperwork in hand). the lender was a very large local credit union, and the previous owner simply had to give the car back due to health reasons. how little they drove this Durango makes me understand. at just over 6000 miles a year, this baby barely had time to stretch her legs, let alone get pushed hard. the ride and drive are great, engine smooth as silk, 4x4 and more, full power, windows, locks, cruise, tilt, gauges, stereo, a/c, abs, air bags and more !@! something like a 4 year old car in ride and performance.
but, it is an older SUV and not perfect. we had it at the mechanic's for a check up and wound up replacing the power steering pump owing to a small seal leak, front brakes were serviced with new pads and rotors, a/c was charged up and a bulb or two replaced. that's it, all done... oh, then it went to the tire store for a new front tire (had a small bubble in old tire sidewall) and they gave it a 4 wheel alignment for good measure. I kept the receipts and it was a good chunk of money, but better it is behind me than pass on a problem to next owner.
great engine and tranny, awd, cold /ac, great on the road, or for errands around town or blasting down the highway at 75 mph. clean, smooth, comfy and reliable. these cars came from Chrysler with a 7 year 100,000 warranty, and I can see why. they built great cars and SUV's, about as good as you get. drive in style, with confidence and the security of all wheel drive, 24/7.
there are a couple of things that go beyond worthy of fixing: there is damage to the rear bumper cover right side and middle, there is a light wear tear in driver's seat cushion, right front fender has some damage and paint chips (hard to photo), spare tire and the two rear tires are showing wear, normal enough - they don't last forever.
so, just bid and buy, drive it home. clean title, car, key, emissions, etc. no issues, just gas and go. please see all photos carefully, I took all the good and the bad. feel free to email or call anytime, I am happy to help. or, just come by and say hello, take a test drive and you will be convinced.

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome
Tue, 24 Dec 2013Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...
Dodge hoping Fast & Furious appearance gives Dart a sales jolt [w/video]
Tue, 28 May 2013According to Automotive News, Chrysler is hoping Fast & Furious 6 will be kind to the Dodge Dart. While the compact sedan doesn't actually show up in the film, Dodge has partnered up with the movie franchise for a new ad featuring the Dart.
Chrysler hasn't exactly seen the high sales numbers it was originally hoping for with the new sedan, thanks in part to a couple of missteps. For starters, most early-production vehicles were only offered with a manual transmission. Analysts believe Chrysler squandered around 95 percent of potential Dart sales because automatic transmission options weren't immediately available.
Right now, the Dodge Dart rakes 19th among compact cars, pulling down 31,064 sales through April. Last month was the company's strongest, with 8,099 units moving off of dealer lots. Unfortunately, the model has also been handicapped by its older sister, the Avenger. With Chrysler throwing heavy incentives at the aging sedan, many consumers have taken advantage of a better deal with the slightly larger, more powerful Avenger.
2025 SRT Hellcat concepts as previewed by high schoolers
Thu, Jan 21 2016Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has some very talented designers in its ranks. Like any good company, though, the automaker is always on the lookout for early talent. Even if they're still in high school. One of those talent-seeking initiatives is the company's Drive for Design contest, an event open to tenth-, eleventh-, and twelfth-grade students that are hoping for a future in design. For this year's event, students from across the country were given a shot to design their vision for a 2025 model-year Dodge SRT Hellcat. The results are impressive, as you can see in the gallery above. First place went to Ben Treinen, from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati. Second place was the only award to go to a student outside the Rust Belt, with Macon, GA's Harrison Kunselman, a student at Mount de Sales Academy taking the silver. Third place was won by a metro Detroiter – Bloomfield Hills High School student Hwanseong Jang, while fourth went to Andrew Gombac of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. According to FCA, all four winners will have their sketches on display at the 2016 Autorama at Cobo Center at the end of February. They'll also win some pretty nifty prizes. First place will get a new Apple MacBook Pro, while second, third, and fourth get the new Apple iPad Pro and Apple Pencil (arguably just as good of a prize for budding designers). All four finishers will also attend a three-week automotive design course at Detroit's prestigious College for Creative Studies, have dinner with FCA designers, and score three passes to Autorama. FCA will cover travel and lodging to Auburn Hills. Read on for the official blast from FCA. Related Video: FCA US Design Team Announces Winners of Drive for Design Contest January 19, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The FCA US LLC Design team today announced four winners in this year's Drive for Design contest. The FCA US Drive for Design contest challenged U.S. high school students in grades 10-12 to design a Dodge SRT Hellcat for the year 2025. "The Drive for Design contest continues to be a great way for the FCA US Design team to connect with students that show an interest in art and design," said Mark Trostle – Head of Dodge and SRT Design, FCA US LLC.
