For the auction is my 2000 Dodge Durango SUV 4WD automatic with 161412 mi in as is condition. I bought it with 142825 mi almost 2 years ago for my Alaska trip. Most ball joints and some steering parts was changed so after that I consider SUV was in fine physical shape except right front window was not operational. It has new air pump, but I was unable to charge air condition as it leaked. I done about 10K in less than month  without any need for repair after about 6 month rear axle got noisy so it was replaced with the used one. Truck was reliable for about one year with my daughter driving it daily for the school and back - about 20 mi. The problem started last (cold) winter then heater core blew...Friend of my replaced it in his garage, but while assembling back didnt connect(or misconnect) few fires so the heater fan stopped working and rest of the windows become not operational (probably some ground wire) .After few weeks waiting for warmer weather I saw leaking brake fluid under the truck making it NOT DRIVABLE. Since then not much changed - I dont have time to fix it, no do I want to pay for towing. I think that good mechanic will fix it in no time. You will need to tow truck out of my driveway as I live in mountain area which required good brakes just to drive from my driveway. I never have any problem with transmission or 4WD. I just started the engine and it started right up on old gas after probably 3-4 month, so the battery is good. Car available for inspection (and I recommend you do)after about 6pm. The low starting price is worth for good used transmission. I have a clear title. The sale if final with no warranty. Please email for the questions. Thank you for your interest.

Chrysler recalling 2009-2010 Ram 1500, Dodge Dakota pickups over axle pinion nut

Mon, 08 Oct 2012

Chrysler is issuing a recall for the 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota pickup trucks due to improper installation of the rear axle pinion nut. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 44,300 trucks are affected by the recall, and there have been 12 confirmed incidents including one crash.
The issue on both trucks is that the pinion nut is loosening on some trucks due to a lack of thread adhesive, and it is causing the rear axle to lock up resulting in loss of vehicle control. NHTSA's recall notice says that eight incidents occurred at speeds over 35 miles per hour and most also exhibited driveshaft failures as well since the loss of the pinion nut would cause the gear to separate from the driveshaft. In one complaint, the driveshaft separated from the rear axle and punctured the gas tank.
Chrysler will begin sending out recall notices to affected owners in November, but scroll down to see the official NHTSA notice.

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets brace of new videos

Wed, 21 May 2014

Yesterday's big announcement focusing on the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat had plenty of stuff going for it - information, pictures and the rabid enthusiasm that always accompanies such an eagerly anticipated reveal. What it was lacking, though, was a proliferation of videos of the new model.
Sure, yesterday's news came with one clip, but today, Dodge has come through with five videos. We've arranged them in what we think will be the most entertaining order, covering the powertrain, before moving on to exterior and interior design, then on to a full CGI dissection of the SRT Hellcat before capping things off with a piece on the non-supercharged Challenger SRT392.
Take a look below for all five videos, then head into Comments and let us know what you think.
