1976 Dodge Dart Sport Spirit Of 76 Survivor Mopar Rare, No Reserve 69212 Miles on 2040-cars
Nampa, Idaho, United States
I am selling my 1976 Dodge Dart Sport, Spirit of 76 car. This is a slant six, four speed car, A833 Transmission, with the original Hurst shifter. This is a rare find, don't let it get away! I haven't found solid figures on the production numbers, but have found that anywhere from 200 to 1000 of these cars were made. Regardless, this is a rare car. The engine has a cold start knock and will need fixed or replaced at some point. Anyone knows, replacing the slant six is a one day job and the engines are cheap and plentiful. The rear is an 8 1/4. It is all original, except for the paint on the rear lower quarters, which were fixed temporarily. It will need rear lower patches if you are going to restore. This car was factory undercoated. The trunk and passenger compartments are solid as seen in the pics. The frame and underside is as solid as you will find, heavily undercoated, and with no leaks or if any, very minor leaks to the interior, it is very solid. Every light and gauge works, except the speedometer. The ODOMETER does work and has always worked so the mileage is correct. Even the side markers and reverse lights and interior reverse indicator are operational. The stripes were replicated, but the "spirit of 76" logos are original, but faded. The wipers and washer reservoir are intact and work. The steering wheel has NO cracks. It has the original AM radio and has not had any panels cut for speakers. It has new front pads and new rear shoes. The left rear wheel cylinder is starting to seep. There is minor surface rust in some places, door hinges, under the hood. The dash has two cracks as seen in the pics. It still has the vacuum diagram, the antifreeze and coolant reservoir stickers, and the emission control sticker. The cooling system is clean with green antifreeze and an engine freeze plug heater. The door weatherstripping is still soft and does not leak when washing the car. The vehicle has dings, scratches and chips, but no real damage, and no evidence whatsoever of major body damage. It does have filler on the left rocker panel, and the rear panel between the tail lights. It has power steering, manual brakes. The exhaust is original with the catalytic converter still in place. It has the original carpet in good shape. The front and rear bumpers have no dings or damage. The grille is undamaged, but one little part at the bottom has a small warpage that is hardly noticable. All of the glass is near perfect with no chips or cracks. The rims are Vision, Legend series, with BF Goodrich on the rear. It is a great survivor car and has brought a lot of attention when shown. This is not a lite version, nor does it have the folding rear seat. I found a company that has the original seat material, so it is available as is the white vinyl for the seats. I will provide the info for the seat material. The last time I check fuel mileage, I got 23 MPG. I will drive it to the shipper of your choice in Boise, Nampa, or Caldwell. You will be responsible for shipping, and vehicle is sold as is. Half of the final bid will be due upon auction end via paypal, and the balance before vehicle is shipped. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.

Cars with the most reckless drivers are full of surprises
Wed, Oct 13 2021Insurify is a site for comparing auto insurance quotes. Because insurance shoppers need to submit information like the vehicles they're driving and the infractions they've compiled while driving those vehicles, Insurify has quite the database of correlations tying certain models to a habit of breaking certain laws. When the site's data analysts decided to compile a list of the top ten models for reckless driving citations in the decade from 2010 to 2019, the ranking contained a few wild entries. The Dodge Challenger making the countdown will surprise precisely zero people. But the Saturn L200? First, a definition: USLegal.com defines reckless driving as "driving with a willful or wanton disregard for safety. It is the operation of an automobile under such circumstances and in such a manner as to show a willful or reckless disregard of consequences." So this list is a caution about particular drivers more than the cars. For a baseline, according to Insurify data, for any random model, 15 out of 10,000 people who drive that model have picked up one citation for reckless driving. Back to that Challenger, then. No shocker for being here, but it's actually number 10, with 44 out of 10,000 Challenger drivers nabbed for a willful disregard of consequences on the road. That's better than the first surprise entry, the Saturn L200, a sedan only on sale for six years, with the least horsepower on the list, and out of production since 2005. The data set put drivers of GM's extraterrestrial sedan at 45 reckless pilots per 10,000 drivers. There are two pickups on the list, the only modern one being the Ram 1500 at eighth, with a rate of 46 in 10,000. Somehow, drivers of the third-best-selling pickup in the U.S. outrun the overwhelming numerical superiority of the best-selling vehicle in the States, the Ford F-150. The other pickup is the Chevrolet K1500 at number five, with a rate of 56 in 10,000. This is not only the oldest vehicle on the list, it went out of production in 2002, before any other vehicle on the list. Between the trucks, the Volkswagen CC slotted in at seven with 47 in 10,000 reckless driving chits, the Cadillac ATS slipped into sixth with 48 in 10,000. The top four is a bag of unexpected. The Nissan 370Z is the first hardcore sports car on the list at number four, with 61 in 10,000 Z drivers flaunting their Fairladys in the face of Johnny Law.
Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells
Sat, Jan 10 2015Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.
Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?
