Ok so I was looking through the local ads like always just searching, I cam across this 1976 Dodge Dart Lite Spirit of 76,so I did a bit of research and googled it,up came an ad written in Hemmings Motor news about a car they came across at Carlile,so I called the person and asked a few questions about the car,it WAS the SAME car the person that had the car just never got around to the resto, and said it was time to pass it on,I asked him if I could come and look at the car in the morning and what he told me was he was sure it would be gone, without doubting him I GRABBED the wife and said lets go.I drove 2.5 hrs to put my very own eyes on this rare rare classic.when I arrived I could not believe my eyes, there it was a rock solid REAL 1976 Dodge Dart Lite Spirit of 76,the research I have done shows me that there were less then 1000 lite cars made and I could not find how many Spirit of 76 lites were made,my numbers may be off so please feel free to research them your self if you can send the info to me that would be great,I do have the original motor and aluminum intake the aluminum 4 speed trans and a truck full of parts that came with the car, this really is a blank canvas for you to restore to original or do what you like.they made a lot of Darts, but only a hand full of Dart lite Spirit of 76 cars.Dont let this slip away, you may never see another, even at major car shows.I did run the vin and it all checks out,i did the best I could to decode the fender tag and that all checks out,to me it looks to have original paint, but im no expert,i can tell they did try to touch some things up but very little, has the original stripe and interior, wheels were changed to rallys at some point.Thats all I know, clean clear title in hand..Thanks for looking

Widebody Challenger Hellcat spotted with no camouflage

Mon, May 8 2017

Well this is a mightily mysterious muscle car. One of our photographers caught this Dodge Challenger out testing without any camouflage. At first glance it looks like an SRT Demon, since it has the same widebody flares and front spoiler of the hellacious Challenger. However, the hood is from a garden-variety Hellcat (as if such a thing existed...), the rear spoiler has an SRT Hellcat badge, and the wheels don't come from the kitty or the Hellspawn. We have two theories as to what this SRT mishmash may be. Our first is that this is perhaps a next-generation Hellcat that takes advantage of some of the Demon's developments. It could have a more potent engine under the hood, perhaps with the extra fuel pumps and air-conditioned intercooler, along with the Demon's beefier driveline. It would be a way to keep the Hellcat relevant, and a way for people who might miss out on the one-year-only Demon to get the next closest thing. Our other theory is that this is an all-wheel-drive Hellcat. The wide fender flares and chin spoiler appeared on an all-wheel-drive Challenger concept before they made their way to the Demon. And with the introduction of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, we know that Mopar has an all-wheel-drive system that can handle the grunt of the 707-horsepower Hellcat mill. If an all-wheel-drive Hellcat is in the cards, it would be another way to keep the Hellcat line fresh without too much investment, and would be a treat for fans of the old all-wheel-drive concept. It would also probably be a great seller here in snowy Michigan. Oh, and it would certainly post some amazing 0-30 acceleration times. Related Video:

As Dodge Challenger changes, hybrid or however else, it's sure to stay retro

Thu, Aug 15 2019

Unverified rumors claim Dodge will make major technical changes to the Charger and the Challenger (pictured) to comply with looming regulations. They'll likely be lighter than they currently are, they could get smaller in nearly every direction, and you can safely bet that they'll incorporate some degree of electrification. The retro-inspired, heritage-laced design is here to stay, however. Mark Trostle, Dodge's horsepower-addicted chief of design, told Muscle Car & Trucks that looks deserve a big chunk of credit for making the Charger and the Challenger as popular as they are. Horsepower and quarter-mile times help sell cars, but it's the "magic of their design" that lures buyers into showrooms to check out the modern-day muscle cars in the metal. "I wouldn't want to ruin something that's been so successful for us," Trostle concluded. He compared the Challenger to the Jeep Wrangler, another design icon in the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) portfolio. The offroader entered its fourth generation in 2018; every part of it is new, and it's not a Xerox copy of its predecessor, but it's still immediately recognizable as a Wrangler. Trostle hinted he's planning this type of evolutionary design for the next-generation Challenger. After all, it's part of the company's history, and heritage is something no amount of money can buy.  While it sounds like development work on the next-generation Challenger is ongoing, Dodge isn't finished with the current-generation car yet. The nameplate will celebrate its 50th birthday during the 2020 model year, and it's reasonable to assume Dodge has something special planned for it.

Does the future of Fiat-Chrysler include Dodge?

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

Wards Auto reports the future of Dodge is looking uncertain. Fiat has more or less laid out it's game plan for the next few years, and while the Chrysler, Fiat and Jeep lines are set to receive plenty of love, Dodge isn't so lucky. Fiat has already hobbled Dodge significantly by splitting off the brand's trucks into a separate Ram line.
Wards says that after the Avenger rides off into the sunset early next year, Fiat-Chrysler won't replace the model, leaving a gaping midsize hole in the Dodge lineup. The report also cites unnamed sources as saying that at least two other current Dodge products will move to the Chrysler line.
One of those could very well be the Grand Caravan. Chrysler has already made it clear that it plans to trim redundancy between its minivan offerings, but it has yet to clarify which other vehicle could sail under the Chrysler banner moving forward. Either way, such changes to the product line would theoretically leave Dodge with just four models.
