1973 Dodge Dart Swinger 440 Mopar 2 Door Classic on 2040-cars
Jerome, Idaho, United States
Here up for auction is my 1973 Dodge dart swinger. This vehicle is absolutely beautiful! The dart is a root beer brown exterior and a vanilla white interior. The car has a running 440 big block in it from a motor home a long while ago. I was told the 440 runs and has under 40k miles on it. The harmonic balancer turns indicating the cylinders move and the engine runs. engine compartment has been worked on a lot has new paint under the hood. I have a ton of parts for this car including front grill, lights, rear bumper, drive line, intake manifold, carburetor, air filter and a bunch of little misc. stuff. This car needs a radiator and an exhaust system, also needs intake manifold bolted on, I just don't have time for the car anymore. The Dart has a 7 3/4 posi rear. It is a 2 Door soft top, the owner who had it before me found it necessary to remove the vinyl so its all metal now. There are some small rust holes on both quarter panels at the very bottom (you can see in the picture) THERE IS NO RUST IN THE TRUNK AND NO HOLES IN THE TRUNK. Body over all is really solid and straight windows are great! I have title in hand this Dart needs a new home!! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to message me! I am very reasonable on what I want for the car if you message me I will tell you what I am looking for! Everything here is all original EXCEPT the engine/tranny it was a 318 but its been changed to a 440 with a auto 727!! FEEL CONFIDENT IN MY 100% FEEDBACK!!! LOCAL PICK UP ONLY!! OR HIRE YOUR OWN SHIPPER!! FREE LOCAL DELIVERY WITHIN 30 MILES!!! CAR IS LOCATED ----> JEROME IDAHO 83338 USA |

Dodge Viper might not live past 2017
Wed, Oct 14 2015The Dodge Viper might be running out of venom because the muscle-bound sports car could be on the road to being cancelled in just a few years. According to Allpar, the proposed deal between the United Auto Workers and FCA US would close the Connor Avenue Assembly plant, which produces the Viper, in 2017. The proposed union contract doesn't give a reason for closing the factory, but the decision is understandable if frustrating. The plant was idled twice last year to reduce production of the Viper to match flagging demand. A $15,000 price cut for the coupe eventually allowed for a sales surge, but that appetite hasn't continued in 2015. From January through September of this year, the company has only moved 503 of the sports cars, down eight percent. To further spur demand, Dodge has employed a few other tactics like the 1 of 1 program for buyers to personalize their Vipers, and the introduction of the brutally track-focused ACR. In a world where high-end sports cars are continuing to get friendlier for both their drivers and the environment, the Viper remains a holdout with a big, naturally aspirated V10. Even with the addition of some electronic aids on the latest Vipers, the snake still demands respect from those behind the wheel. Respect is fine, but sales are what matter to FCA – and the harsh reality is that a lack thereof might force the Viper into retirement, whether we like it or not.
Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
Dodge engineers trying to shoehorn Pentastar into Dart?
Tue, 19 Nov 2013The fact that the Dart's launch has been a pretty dismal affair isn't what we'd call secret. Judging by its mounting inventories and poor critical reception, Dodge's successor to its unloved Caliber has struggled since it hit the market. And while both of those are difficult problems to address, at least their cause is well known - the powertrain.
Even Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has acknowledged that the powertrain options in the Dart are substandard, admitting at January's Detroit Auto Show that the powertrains are "less than ideal." Leading with the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Fiat 500 Abarth left a bad taste in the mouths of consumers thanks to the laggy engine and dead throttle response (to say nothing of the manual and dual-clutch gearboxes that needed more refinement). The addition of the 184-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark in the Dart GT has helped matters some, but apparently Auburn Hills doesn't think it's quite enough.
If rumors are to be believed - get that salt ready - a possible solution may be in the works. A report from Allpar is claiming that Dodge is considering fitting a Pentastar V6 into the Dart's engine bay. As the Mopar-obsessed website points out, the critically acclaimed Pentastar is available in three different sizes - 3.0 liters, 3.2 liters and the original 3.6 liters. We don't get the 3.0 here in the US, but the 3.2 can be found in the new Jeep Cherokee and the 3.6 has been seemingly fitted to every model Chrysler can shoehorn it into.
