Ok here is a deal.  this is a 1971 dodge dart swinger owned by a mopar person.  it (was) going to be cloned to look like a 340 swinger.  it is an original citron yellow car.  fender tag, build sheet, clear title.  registered in the Chrysler registry through galien govier as being #8 of #30 cars produced like this at the Windsor Ont. Canada Plant.  these cars were also built in LA, as well.  this car is a 3 owner car me being the third.  it originally was ordered at North Glenn Dodge in Denver Colorado.  I have the complete history of this car from start to finish w/ names and dates.  what has been done so far?  well this is all I have done so far.  new tires, new shocks, suspension front to back has been rebuilt.  torsion bars upgraded to the .087 340 bars, added front sway bar, new front manual disc brakes, upgraded rear drums, 8 3/4 rear changed to 3.23 sure grip, electronic ignition added, recurved distribitor, new wires, plugs, new dual exhausts w/340 manifolds!  power steering added, dash pad restored, dash benzels restored, rim blow steering wheel restored.  added factory am/fm radio and converted it to stereo, infinity rear speakers, new mopar battery of course!  new wheels w/large bolt pattern, rear axels changer out to large bolt pattern as well, transmission rebuilt, radiator professionally recored to lager cores and tight rows, cooling is great! also has the complete 340 clutch fan setup w/ shroud.

parts included are everything needed to complete the "340 cloning" including the following: 1972 thermoquad carb, correct factory kick down linkage, factory twin hood scoops, w/340 call outs, also included is a new rear package tray with jute, new legendary seat covers for front and rear, new legendary headliner, new grillea, and probably more just can't remember everything.

what is left to do?  well nothing if you want to just drive it. it is a solid car and a great driver. if you want to take it to the next level then add all the included parts and finish it!

the bad: rear main seal leaks a little, it is a 15 footer.  paint is not bad but could be better imho.  body is solid but taround the rear quaters there is a little bondo although not much.  could be patched.  rear drums are alittle strong need to have a smaller wheel cylinder added to lessen effects of rear brakes.  could use new front valence,  other than that nothing that come to mind....tons of receipts and paperwork included!

We cruised Woodward in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/video]

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

We were definitely rock stars at the 20th edition of the Dream Cruise.
The yell came from somewhere in the crowd: "Hey Hellcat, push it!" We obliged with a jab of the throttle, and the 707 horses of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roared to life. It went on like this. All weekend. It's one thing to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, it's quite another to star in it.

Dodge gives 2015 Viper slight power increase, new GT model

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

With its troubling sales figures, the newly rechristened SRT Dodge Viper needs to come out swinging for 2015. To do that, Dodge has made a number of tweaks and changes that will hopefully carry the V10-powered sports car into more successful days.
First up for 2015 is a new GT model, which aims to marry the reasonable price of the base car with the adjustable suspension and trick stability control program of the GTS model. The GT also sports a cabin that's covered in Alcantara suede and Nappa leather as standard.
Also new for 2015 is the SRT TA 2.0 Special Edition, which expands on last year's Viper TA by adding new aerodynamic bits and bobs, including a larger rear wing, which ups downforce at 150 miles per hour from 278 pounds to 400 pounds.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/videos]

Tue, 22 Jul 2014

Darrell Waltrip once said, "If the lion didn't bite the tamer every once in a while, it wouldn't be exciting." The sentiment behind that aphorism is causing my adrenal gland to wake up as Dodge and SRT drivers and engineers - somber-faced to a man - give me the track talk that will precede my driving the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT on the circuit at Portland International Raceway. PIR might not be Daytona, and the 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat might seem tame to a legend like ol' Jaws, but there's a not-small part of me that's thinking about how hard Dodge's fire-breathing kitty might bite.
Just a few hours previous, I'd gotten behind the wheel of the Hellcat for the first time, letting its hyperbole-spitting, supercharged V8 Hemi pull me yieldingly through Portland's morning commuter traffic. Lulled into a cocky certainty by the Challenger's good manners at low speed, I drove the throttle just a hair too deep, too fast when I ran on to the highway ramp. For just an instant the rear tires were utterly drenched in torque, and the back end of the big Dodge loosened up like a drift car on a wet track. Throttle steer lives at the fleeting whim of your right foot in this car.
It was no big thing to lay off the gas and pull the Hellcat back in line as I entered the highway, but the incident did get me to thinking: What will this car do to me on a road course?
