1969 Dodge Dart V8 Killer Car Mopar V8 on 2040-cars
Kennewick, Washington, United States
This is a 1969 Dodge Dart (Mopar).
Originally, it was a slant six
cylinder. I pulled a 318, 904, front disc brakes, and rear end from a 1974 Dart
and put it in the car you see. The car has been completely stripped down to
bear metal and rebuilt and repainted from the ground up. Sheet metal work and sub-frame connector work
was done at Pro Tech in Kennewick Washington.
As well, Pro Tech did the painting on the body of the car. The doors,
deck lid, hood, and fenders were painted and fitted by Eddie Robbins and Tim
O'Keefe of Snake River Street Rods, Kennewick, Washington. The interior upholstery work was done by Pete
Medrano of Kennewick, Washington and as you might be able to tell from the
pictures, the headliner still needs to be installed (so does a stereo- I have
installed two 4" speakers under the dash and run speaker wires to the
rear). The engine was bored .300 over at S&B and rebuilt with Edlebrock
intake and cam. There is a carter 4 barrel carburetor on the car presently. The
heads are commando heads with 2.02" intake and 1.88" exhaust ports
(they are stamped with an 'X'). Dick at American Eagle Muffler ran 2 5/8"
exhaust out from the Hooker headers. The car has a B & M floor shifter in
it. The car scoots along very nicely and
as you can see from the pictures is near flawless in the paint and body. The dash and visors have new covers and the
dashboard is has been painted gloss black.
The interior trim pieces are all here.
However, one of the plastic pillar post covers will need to be
glued. A very tiny chip appears just
below the corner of the rear window and a small chip is below the windshield.
This car is not finished, however. It
needs a headliner, stereo, rear speakers, and the trim mounted along the drip
rail above the doors For the winning
bidder, I will include an 8 3/4 rear end with posi gears (3:55) ready to assemble
and put under the car. I have receipts
for well over $40,000 invested in this car, but I must sell it. This car is almost done and the price reflects that. If you would like to see more pictures,
especially beginning to end, of the car when it was in the process of being
restored, I have those as well. Thanks for looking. I am selling this car for my brother and he has clear title.

Weekly Recap: Ferrari plans to gradually increase production by 2019
Sat, Oct 17 2015Ferrari has long been known for the exclusivity of its performance machines. It's on a different level than Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes. But as it transitions to a new era of independence from Fiat Chrysler, Ferrari is going to get a little less exclusive. It's by design, and it means a subtle, slow ramp-up of production – a move Ferrari believes will ensure its future by meeting growing demand in new markets. The strategy was detailed in SEC documents filed this month as part of the company's pending stock offering. The files reveal Ferrari will gradually increase shipments to about 9,000 units per year by 2019. This is a reversal of Ferrari's 2013 plans to cap production at 7,000 cars annually, which it hit on the nose that year. Ferrari shipments inched up to 7,255 in 2014, though that's down from 2012's record tally of 7,405. Ferrari is a vastly different operation than it was in 2013. Longtime chairman Luca di Montezemolo stepped down last fall, and FCA chief executive Sergio Marchionne has been overseeing the company since then. Its IPO has attracted high levels of attention from enthusiasts and investors. As expected, demand has reportedly outstripped the availability of the stock, which has an estimated offering price of $48 to $52 a share. Speaking of more Ferraris, the company revealed a limited-edition model this week called the F12tdf (shown above). Based on the F12 Berlinetta, the car is a salute to the Tour de France endurance auto race that Ferrari dominated in the 1950s and '60s. The V12 engine's output increases to 769 horsepower, while weight is cut by 243 pounds – allowing for a sprint to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Dramatic carbon-fiber elements and a radical redesign of the body panels give the F12 a more dramatic look. It will be limited to 799 units over the life of the car. If this is how Ferrari is increasing production, we're more than okay with the company's new strategy. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Tesla software unlocks Autopilot features Tesla released the latest version of its software for the Model S this week, which allows the all-electric sedan to drive in a semi-autonomous state called Autopilot. Tesla Version 7.0 enables the Model S to maintain lane position, change lanes by touching the turn signal, and manage the car's speed using an advanced, traffic-sensing cruise control. It also has a parallel parking feature, which searches for open spots and then parks your Tesla.

These Canadians somehow forgot how to drive in snow
Tue, Dec 6 2016Montreal drivers experienced a slow-motion pileup on their streets this weeks thanks to the first snow fall of the season. According to the CBC, slippery conditions caused a small pileup involving cars, buses and even a street clearing vehicle. Onlookers in neighboring office buildings watched as vehicle after vehicle slid down Cote du Beaver Hall and crashed into the scrum of waiting cars. First there was a city bus, then a white Ford F-150 work truck loaded down with ladders, then another city bus came along and sandwiched the poor F-150. A Montreal Police Charger then came down the hill backwards, hit the bus in a slow, sad crash before it was crashed into by an out of control plow truck. Since its posting yesterday, the video of the crash has gone viral. Various other vehicles–a green-topped Scion delivery truck and a couple workaday sedans–were lucky enough to escape the pileup, but still suffered through a white-knuckled slippery descent down the hill. Colin Creado, who works nearby the crash site, told the CBC although it was pretty slippery, he was surprised at all the carnage since the storm was forecast well in advance. "You would have thought ... they would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep," he told the station.
