Description: This beautiful compact powerhouse is a blast to drive and even more fun to look at. The stunning black interior matches up with the sporty GT Stripe at the rear of the car. The rumble of the 340ci V8 is enough to get any car fanatic excited. With plenty of power to get off the line it's even faster in the quarter mile than the 383ci model. The car is balanced with this engine and is ready to cruise. This is the perfect classic for someone looking to own a great piece of American history for a reasonable price.

Interior:  The black vinyl is in fantastic shape and has been well cared for. All gauges are in good condition and are functioning properly. There is an aftermarket tachometer located just in front of the shifter. The doors are matching black with the GT emblems in silver and black. The center console has faux wood trim that gives the car a sporty but sophisticated flair. There is a modern stereo system with a tape deck and ipod hookup that is connected to a very functional speaker system.

Exterior: The muscular exterior of this car is accentuated by the flared hood with imprinted 340ci logos on each side. The bright blue paint grabs your attention immediately putting focus on the sporty and trim body that is designed for one thing, SPEED! The rear trunk and quarters are wrapped with the black GT Sport vinyl which mates up with the Dodge GT emblems on the trunk.

Drivetrain: This vehicle comes with a 340ci V8 engine. This is the most desired engine in the dart which makes less horsepower than the 383ci option but is more balanced. This allows the car to get better traction off the line. The 340, rated at 273 horsepower actually produced 300 bhp or more, and weighed 90 pounds less than the 383. The engine has plenty of linear power and torque delivered smoothly through a 3 speed shiftable automatic that gives the driver more control off the line. The engine and transmission are both very smooth and quiet. There is no smoking or major leaks throughout the engine compartment.

Key Facts:

Old Dodge vans are big in Japan

Fri, Sep 23 2016

One of the great things about Japan and its car culture is that it plays host to some of the most unusual and unique vehicle trends in the world. Whether it's neon-clad Lamborghinis or luxury sedans with insane negative camber, the country always seems to have something new up its sleeve. One of the most surprising trends is track-ready, full-size Dodge vans called Dajibans, and the video above presents a great look at these absurd machines. This isn't the first time we've covered these racing Dodge vans, but it's a subculture too awesome not to merit a second look. For one thing, just as American fans of Japanese cars here like to use JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) parts on their cars, the owners of these Dodges like to use American parts. Many of the vans feature Little Tree air fresheners inside and even have Spectre air filters on the intakes. Who would've thought there would be a market for Autozone's bread and butter auto accessories? Plus, these vans get some other impressive mods. Notice that some vans that appear to have stock metal bumpers, but they're actually fiberglass replicas in the original shape and given a chrome-like paint job. The video's host, an Australian drift fanatic named Alexi who lives in Japan and runs website called Noriyaro.com, gets some great onboard footage, too. One of the vans he rides along in is powered by a generally stock 318 Dodge V8, and still has the original automatic transmission and column shifter. Impressively, the driver manages to manually shift it without grabbing the wrong gear, and even rev matches the shifts. Alexi explains that the driver can catch neutral in-between gears three and two, so there's a brief moment where he can blip the throttle. There's even more information in the video, and it's all fantastic fun to watch. If you decide you haven't seen enough of Dajibans, you can also check out our previous post on it, which is more polished and provides some history and context to the trend. Custom 2014 Dodge Durango R/T proves SEMA can be subtle

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

The annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas can often be a sensory overload of overwrought madness, with cars that don't even look drivable anymore. But every once in a while, a modestly modified show car graces our presence, like the customized Dodge Durango you see here, which, in addition to giving us our first glimpse at the aftermarket possibilities for the refreshed-for-2014 model, proves that a car doesn't have to be slammed, scooped, donked and Lambo-doored to have presence.
Sure, this Durango has custom hood inserts, dark 22-inch wheels and custom fender flares, but as far as external modifications go, that's it. Inside, Dodge has fitted new door sill guards, an ambient lighting kit, bright pedals, premium floor mats and - of course - Katzkin leather. The automaker has even added wireless internet connectivity as part of the excellent Uconnect infotainment system.
Performance upgrades are minimal on this Durango R/T, which comes packed with Chrysler's 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Larger brakes have been fitted, as have lowering springs (though it certainly doesn't look that much lower) and a custom exhaust.

Travis Pastrana signs with Dodge for another year, brings partner Bryce Menzies [w/video]

Sun, 14 Apr 2013

Dodge and SRT Motorsports announced that the Dodge Dart will be returning for its sophomore season of the Global Rallycross Championship with a two-car team fielded by Pastrana Racing. Travis Pastrana drove his GRC Dart to victory lane in the fourth race of the car's inaugural season, and his race team is looking for even more success with the addition of off-road racer Bryce Menzies behind the wheel of the second car.
The 2013 GRC season kicks off on April 21 in Brazil with plenty of dirt-spewing, ramp-jumping action. Scroll down for a video from the cars' main sponsor, Red Bull, and a press release from Chrysler.
