I purchased this absolutely rust free Dart GTS from the original owner and performed an on frame "driver" restoration over the last 5 years. This car retains all of its factory correct equipment including numbers matching drivetrain. Retains all of the original glass(windshield has been replaced) , this is a factory a/c car and I have the original build sheet, fender tag, owners manual and the window sticker. The original gold paint was changed in the 1980's and I stayed with the red during my restoration. The original 340 has been rebuilt (standard bore) by a local MOPAR specialist. The original transmission has been rebuilt as well. The wiring, as well as the final fit and finish was performed by a notable mopar restorer and the intentions were to have the car remain as original and correct as possible. The rust free underside has been re-under coated (just as it came from the factory) and the interior has been restored as well. I searched for 7 years to find a 340 GTS as perfect as this one with no intentions of ever selling it. Unfortunately life dictates change and now this time capsule from 1968 is available for someone else to enjoy. Feel free to ask any questions you have, there is nothing to hide! Chrysler Recalling 870,000 SUVs For Brake Defect
Wed, Apr 2 2014Chrysler is recalling nearly 870,000 SUVs because corrosion may make the vehicles' brakes harder to use. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from the 2011 through 2014 model years are involved. Chrysler says crimp joints in the brake boosters can corrode if they're exposed to water. If the water freezes, the boosters won't aid braking as they usually do. Chrysler began investigating after some customers said their brakes felt too firm when pressed down. The company knows of one accident, but no injuries, due to the defect. Dealers will install a shield to protect the boosters for free and replace boosters that aren't working properly. Chrysler has since changed the design to make the boosters more corrosion resistant. Chrysler will notify owners of the recall, which involves 867,795 vehicles. Fiat Chrysler taps Amazon, Shell execs to fill roles
Fri, Dec 7 2018MILAN — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is tapping executives from Amazon and Shell Oil Company with previous automotive industry experience to fill its ranks. CEO Mike Manley said in a letter to employees Thursday that Mark Stewart would join FCA as chief operating officer of North America from Amazon, "a company known for its culture of innovation, and obsession with delivering incredible value to customers." At Amazon, Stewart led teams focused on advanced robotics, artificial intelligence and automation methods. He previously was COO of ZF TRW automotive components supplier. Niel Golightly was named head of global communications. He was most recently Shell's vice president for external relations in North and South America, with a focus on reputation, brand and stakeholder engagement beyond communication strategies. Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
