1961 Dodge Dart Seneca. Slant 6 Pushbutton Auto. Rat Rod Low Rider Lead Sled. on 2040-cars
Bristow, Indiana, United States
I recently took this car on as a partial trade for a motorcycle I was selling. I drove this car home from 4 hours away and had zero issues. I though it was a unique and cool car but I have too many cars as it is. So I am going to sell it. Here is what I know of this car: GOOD STUFF: 1961 Dodge Dart Seneca Factory Slant 6 225 ci Pushbutton automatic transmission The car starts right up with no smoke or issues. Runs strong! Transmission shifts strong and even kicks down strong in passing gear. Runs and drives GREAT! Handles wonderful with factory power steering. Floats like a Cadillac. New water pump, tires, front wheel cylinder on drivers side bottom, hoses, fuel pump and bulbs. All external lights work including tail, brake, turn signals, back ups and headlights HI/LO. Cars charging system is working properly as well. Speedometer, wipers and even the cigar lighter works. Glass is all nice. Trunk floor is pretty solid. NOT SO GOOD STUFF: Interior is rough. Seats are torn up under the covers. Door panels are rough. Windows all roll up and down with some assistance. Body has had previous rust damage and dent repair. Bondo in various places throughout. Mainly right rear quarter panel is wavy and tail panel sculpted a bit but the car still looks decent from 20 feet or so. Structurally the car looks solid and sound however the rear floors have a few rust issues that could use a patch. Brakes need a GOOD bleeding. The car stops fine but after a couple of pumps. No leaking lines or wheel cylinders just air needs bled out. Thanks about it. The car is what it is. NOT a $5000-$10,000 car. Priced fair for a decent old car to have fun with. Call for any specific questions or concerns: (812)631-9351 Thanks LEGAL MUMBO JUMBO: Car is old and sold "As Is" and "Where Is" obviously. No warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for shipping the car but I will work with you on that in terms of storing the car awaiting shipping. It is not in my way and can sit here for a few weeks no problem. I prefer cash and a hand shake, cashiers' checks or if you wish to pay the entire amount using Paypal, buyer is responsible for the 3% fees they make us pay. |

FCA's large, LX-based RWD cars will stick around until 2020
Mon, Nov 7 2016Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to stick with the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler 300 until at least 2020, reports Automotive News. The information comes from two unnamed sources and was loosely confirmed by details in the automaker's new labor contract with Unifor, Canada's auto union. The plan, according to two anonymous sources, is to lightly refresh the Challenger, Charger, and 300 until the vehicles make the switch to FCA's new Giorgio platform. The refresh, as Automotive News points out, will happen in 2018. The Giorgio platform currently underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia and is expected to find its way to two of the three large American vehicles for the 2021 model year. At that time, FCA will discontinue either the Charger or the 300, claim AN's unnamed sources. If one of the vehicles were to go, it would most likely be the 300. The 300's LX platform would be approximately 15 years old in 2020 and the vehicle doesn't draw in as many sales as the Challenger or the Charger. The Charger made the switch from the LX platform in 2010 with the current model utilizing the mildly updated LD platform, while the Challenger recently moved from the LC platform to the LA platform last year. All of those rear-wheel-drive platforms are closely related. Automotive News points out that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne stated that the new platform could be utilized across various applications in a conference call with analysts last month. The plan, according to the report, is to stretch and widen the Giorgio platform for the next-gen Challenger and Charger. The new platform is also rigid enough to allow the automaker to add a convertible to its lineup, which could lend further credence to rumors of an upcoming Barracuda. Hopefully, the move to the new Giorgio platform doesn't delay the all-wheel-drive Challenger GT AWD or the wide-body, Hellcat-powered Challenger ADR. We'll just have to wait and see. 2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment
Fri, 15 Feb 2013As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.
Rest of 2015.5 Dodge Viper lineup available after MSRP drop spurs sales uptick
Sun, Nov 30 2014The Dodge Viper has muscled its way back into buyers' good graces thanks to a $15,000 price drop across-the-board – and we're sure the extra five horsepower didn't hurt, either – posting a 26-percent year-to-date surge after the September realignment. No longer, uh, snakebitten, Dodge is now allowing dealers to place already-sold orders of the TA 2.0 Special Edition and GTS, both of which come with more goodies as standard than on the 2014 models they replace. The $101,995 TA wears a high performance Aero Package consisting of front lower dive planes, front splitter, competition rear spoiler, a dual-mode suspension supporting 18- or 19-inch matte black wheels on Pirelli PZero Corsa tires, two-piece Brembos rotors with black and orange calipers and performance pads, and a five-mode electronic stability control. We'll pretend to ignore features like a "rear carbon fiber applique" on a hardcore V10 sports car. The $107,995 GTS trim throws in Laguna leather seats as standard, an Alcantara headliner and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon system. It will also be the only model that can be had in Ceramic Blue with black stripes, orange brake calipers and GTS gloss black badging. And that rear carbon fiber applique, since it's apparently quite popular. The Connor Avenue plant where workers assemble the Viper by hand will begin production of the TA and GTS in November, the two models will appear in showrooms in Q1 of next year. A press release below has more information. Finally, it appears the only thing Connor Avenue builders looks like it finally has the work to keep everyone at work. {C} New 2015.5 Dodge Viper GTS and TA 2.0 Special Edition Models Now Available for Customer "Sold Orders" With New Pricing and More Content - Dodge Viper sales up 26 percent year-to-date since Dodge repositioned the hand-built exotic in September and reduced the starting price $15,000 - 2015 Dodge Viper's starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $84,995 (all prices exclude gas guzzler tax and destination) - New 2015.5 Viper GTS and TA 2.0 models now available for sold customer orders - Track-ready Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition builds on success of TA model; U.S. MSRP starts at $101,995 and adds high-performance Aero Package, competition rear spoiler and front lower dive planes for increased downforce and improved handling on the track - U.S.
