2002 Dodge Dakota Slt Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 4.7l on 2040-cars
Denver, Colorado, United States
I am the third owner of this Dakota and have had many great adventures with it. I am sad to see it go, but I have recently moved from rural Kentucky and into the city of Denver. Understandably, I need to find something smaller or more functional to the surroundings. The transmission did recently go out but I had it replaced with a certified low mileage transmission. The work was performed by Accurate Transmission in Aurora, CO. I have tested this out by using this vehicle to drive to work over the past few weeks along with a couple outings to the mountains and it shifts like new. While doing the swap, both filters, the pan, and gasket were replaced. I have all paperwork to back this up. The exterior shows very little rust but the clear-coat is pealing - this is typical of Dodge's of this year. A tool box and bed liner are included though the key has been lost for the toolbox so it currently cannot be locked. The side-step/nerf bars need to go and can be removed at the buyer's request before the truck is picked up. The interior is in great condition other than the headliner, which is currently being held up by pins - this is also typical of Dodge's of this year with cloth headliners. I have installed a Sony CD/MP/Pandora receiver and Pioneer speakers which sounds great. All of which was purchased through Crutchfield. The Engine runs great and features a Flow-master exhaust and short-ram air intake which was installed by the previous owners. Along with the 4.7 liter V-8 engine, it sounds great in person. I get asked all the time what work I have had done to it. The title for this vehicle is clear, it has never been in an accident, and it is ready for the next happy owner to put many more miles on it. Thank you for looking! (PS. What I am asking for this truck is WELL below KBB value in poor condition) ;-) |

Is Mopar readying a special-edition Dart for Chicago?
Sat, 26 Jan 2013Chrysler has released the above teaser of a limited-edition Mopar 2013 model that will be unveiled at next month's Chicago Auto Show. Although the automaker doesn't announce what vehicle will get the Mopar treatment, closer investigation of the seats and center console suggest that this car will be a special version of the 2013 Dodge Dart.
This will be the fourth Mopar model in as many years, following on the heels of the Mopar 2010 Challenger, Mopar 2011 Charger and the Mopar '2012 300. There are no details for the Mopar '13 Dart, but we do see that the car will retain the signature black-and-blue color scheme as past Mopar editions. Like these previous models, we expect production of Mopar '13 Dart to be limited to just 500 units.
Scroll down for Chrysler's press release teasing the new Mopar model, and we'll be sure to bring you plenty of live images from the show floor in a couple weeks.
Dodge Journey gets new $24,895* SE V6 AWD model
Wed, 12 Mar 2014While the Dodge Journey crossover remains largely unchanged for the 2014 model year, there are two new flavors of the seven-passenger CUV on offer: the butch-looking Crossroad, and the SE V6 AWD, pictured right, which makes its debut today. As its name suggests, this new Journey model features the automaker's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and offers all-wheel drive, which, with a starting price of $24,895 (*excluding $995 for destination), reduces the cost-of-entry for an AWD-equipped Journey by $1,800 versus the SXT AWD model. Dodge Viper recall requires small-handed mechanics
Fri, 25 Apr 2014It has been over a year since Chrysler first announced its recall of 3,660 2003-2004 Dodge Vipers because the airbag could suddenly deploy. The repairs are finally beginning, and it appears to be a nightmare for mechanics.
According to the automaker's filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag control module can fail, which causes the bag or the seatbelt pre-tensioner to deploy without warning. It took over a year to design the new parts, according to The New York Times. However, Chrysler finally has a new "jumper harness with an in-line diode filter circuit" ready to fix the problem.
The dilemma now moves to the mechanics who have to actually install the part. A 47-step guide from Chrysler explains that the procedure should take about two hours. It's not an easy job, though. Most of the dashboard has to be taken apart, and the instructions include this helpful bit of advice: "Installing the jumper harness and filter box into position is not an easy task. Patience, perseverance, and small hands are required." We wish the best of luck to them. The fix comes just in time for the Vipers to enjoy the summer sun.
