Up for sale is a 2002 Dodge Dakota R/T, powered by a huge 5.9L 360ci motor. This Dakota has always been garage kept in Florida and only has a 2 owner history. The body is in excellent condition for a 12 year old truck! The exterior shows very little signs of wear and the paint is in great condition. The truck bed also features an additional bed liner mat, as well as a leather tonneau cover, worth over $350! The interior is also in great condition, with only one blemish on the driver’s side carpet.  Having only 67k miles and bright red paint this little red truck is truly a show stopper. In 1999 Dodge decided to create a modern day hot rod truck for consumers, and this truck was the result of those experiments. With only 299 R/T trucks made in 2002, surly far fewer were optioned with Flame Red exterior, dark slate gray interior and chrome wheels. This truck has also been lowered 2” to give it an aggressive look, while also improving the driving experience greatly. A brand new install Cold Air Intake has just been installed and really gives this big motor a unique sound, plus all new headlights, fog lights and a custom grill to set this truck apart from the crowd! This Dakota not only rides great down the highway, with the air blowing cold, but it’s also guaranteed to turn heads at any car meet! It really is a fun driver and I hate to see it go, I just don’t have the time to drive it anymore. Someone’s going to get a great deal on a reliable truck, guaranteed!

Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.

Watch 1,414-hp worth of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat do stereo burnouts

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

When Dodge announced that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, automotive enthusiasts were shocked. The company had promised us that it would be powerful, but no one expected for the muscle car to post even larger numbers than the range-topping Viper.
Car and Driver recently got ahold of two new SRTs and decided that the only proper way to show them off was by lighting up the rears in stereo. With a combined 1,414 horsepower, the pair of them make burnouts from the Hellcat V8 look as easy as breathing. The tires start spinning at the slightest provocation and just don't stop. If you buy one of these, it looks like you and the employees at the local tire store are going to be on a first name basis.
Scroll down to watch these two Hellcats to lay down enough smoke to alert the local hook and ladder trucks.

Takata air bag recall list

Tue, Dec 9 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
