Classic Design Concepts has another riff on the widebody Challenger
Wed, Nov 2 2016Dodge is secretly working on a widebody Hellcat-powered Challenger dubbed the ADR. But for those that can't wait a few years, there's this – Classic Design Concepts' Group 2 Widebody Challenger that was unveiled at SEMA. The original Group 2 Widebody Challenger from CDC made its debut at SEMA back in 2008, but was given a new look for this year's trade show. The car, which you can scrutinize in the gallery above, features a bright red paint job with a blacked-out American flag on the left rear fender and "Hemi" in yellow on the right side. The wheels are also color-coated to match the rear billboard fenders, with the right side being finished in yellow and the left side a dark gray. CDC's body kit is wide, slammed to the ground, and menacing. And if you happen to forget that this is a widebody Challenger, because the extra six inches of width are hard to miss, there's a clear reminder on the back of the car. Watch a Dodge Viper driver show off his V10 all the way into a wall
Mon, Apr 11 2016Has there ever been a show-off video that doesn't end terribly? This video clip captured with a cellphone shows the driver of a neon green Viper GTS giving a fellow motorist a couple throttle blips to signify his intent – which seems to be to crash the Viper into a concrete wall as quickly as possible. It's not pretty. The mean machine seems to be a second-generation Viper GTS in Stryker Green. To our knowledge, no photos have surfaced of the aftermath, so we wish both the driver and their most-likely bruised ego a speedy recovery. Who knows, maybe the Viper is also salvageable.
2015 Dodge Challenger configurator has all the Hellcat you can dream of
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has sucked up a lot of air in the automotive news world this summer, so it's good to know that you can actually go out and, you know, buy the sucker. With 2015 models headed for your local showroom, Dodge has seen fit to also pull the wraps off it's latest Challenger configurator, complete with the supercharged Hemi V8 option that we just can't seem to get enough of.
We're still enamored of the $58,995 starting price for the 707-horsepower SRT, but the online tool finally gives us a chance to see just how optioned up our dream super-muscle coupe can get.
Buyers can choose from three interior treatments and nine paint colors, with two hues (Ivory White and Phantom Black tri-coats) coming for a $500 premium. For $1,795 Laguna Leather SRT bucket seats can be added in place of the (very nice) stock chairs, and a fancier infotaiment system with navigation and HD radio runs $695.
