If you’re a fan of Mopar muscle cars, here’s your opportunity to own a piece of Mopar history. This 1970 Superbee was a project car that was built in the pages of Mopar Muscle magazine. As much as it pains me, it’s time to give someone else the opportunity to own this amazing car. This 1970 Superbee (yes, it’s a real Bee), was seen in the pages of multiple issues of Mopar Muscle magazine, and received nothing but the best parts available when it was built. The car was found in a garage in Danville, Pa, and was then transported to Florida. The build was done at Unlawful Racing in Michigan. Body: The body is perfectly straight, and flawless. The color is B5 Blue. The interior features all-new materials, and closely resembles a stock interior. The dash is a custom built piece from brushed aluminum, and filled with Autometer gauges. There is no radio in the dash, but, there is an amplifier in the trunk that connects to an MP3 player, iPhone or iPod for music. Wiring: The wiring in this car is all Canbus, and runs with three electronic modules. This system is completely programmable to run any function you want. Currently, the car does the following; when the car is parked, and at operating temperature, the electric water pump and coolant fans will run until the engine reaches a preset temperature. The headlights are “soft start” like a new car. The interior features “theater lighting” (they dim and turn off slowly). The key is not required to operate the vehicle, but the key fob is required to arm and disarm the ignition. Suspension: The front is an aftermarket k-frame by Reilly Motorsports. This suspension is a coil over design, with a rack & pinion steering. The rear suspension is a four-link design, by Unlawful Racing. SSBC four-wheel disc brakes are mounted on all four corners. This suspension offers a phenomenal ride, and unbelievable handling characteristics. The Billet wheels are made by Bonspeed, and measure 18 x 7-1/2 up front with Bridgestone S-04 -- 245/45/18 tires, and the rears are 19 x 10 with Bridgestone S-04 -- 275/40/19. Engine: CRANKSHAFT: Eagle 4.150-inch stroke, 4340 Cro-Moly RODS: Eagle 6.760-inch, 4340 H-beam, RINGS: Total Seal, M-series gapless top ring. BEARINGS: Rod bearings (Clevite CB527HD); Main bearings; (Clevite MS1277HG); Cam Bearings; (Dura-bond PD-17) HEADS: Edelbrock PN 77929 Victor big-block Chrysler. HEAD GASKETS: Cometic PN C5462 INTAKE MANIFOLD: Edelbrock PN 2893 Super Victor manifold PISTONS: JE PN 232453 COMP CAM ROLLER CAM: SPECS: .695/.675 Lift w/ 1.7 Rocker; 275/282 at .050 112 L/C CARBURETOR: Holley Dominator 1050 PN 0-80672 OILING: Milodon Transmission: Tremec TKO five speed Rear end: Dana 60 with an Eaton Truetrac differential, 30-spline axles, and 4.10 gears. This car is a blast to drive, is definitely a show stopper, and is possibly one of the nicest ’70 Superbees in the world. It is very doubtful that another one this nice, or with this pedigree will ever come up for sale again. I don’t really want to let go of it, but at this time, I currently have more toys than I need. Don’t miss out on your chance to own this spectacular piece of history.

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
2013-14 Dodge Viper recalled over faulty door handles
Fri, Apr 10 2015The 2013-14 Dodge Viper is getting a voluntary recall affecting 1,762 cars worldwide to replace their door-handle assemblies. Of the affected vehicles, FCA US reports there are 1,451 in the US, 160 in Canada, 17 in Mexico and 59 of them outside of NAFTA. After receiving three reports of doors either not closing or opening while driving a low speeds, FCA US engineers found a new sealant from a supplier didn't provide sufficient moisture protection to the electronic switches for the door latches. If the parts get wet, this can potentially cause a short circuit. The automaker is quite clear that are no reports of accidents of injuries from this problem. As always, the recall repairs will be done at no cost to owners, and FCA US will be getting in touch with customers soon about the problem. Related Video: Statement: Door-handle Assemblies April 9, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 1,762 cars globally to replace their door-handle assemblies. FCA US launched an investigation after the Company received three warranty claims linked to doors that failed to close or opened inadvertently while vehicles were moving at low speed. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. Engineers determined a sealant, newly adopted by a supplier, provided inconsistent moisture protection to the electronic switches that control the door latches. Switches exposed to moisture may short-circuit. Affected are approximately 1,451 model-year 2013-14 Dodge Viper SRT cars in the U.S.; 160 in Canada; 17 in Mexico and 59 outside the NAFTA region. Affected customers will be notified and advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed at no cost. Customers with questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat in the works
Fri, 25 Jul 2014In Autoblog's recent First Drive of the 2015 Challenger SRT with the 707-horsepower Hellcat V8 we found its engine to be as brutally powerful as the numbers would suggest, even if it wasn't the best handler. However, the muscle-car-styling just isn't right for some buyers that need four doors and proper rear seats to haul around the family. It appears that Dodge has their backs, though, because the Hellcat is very likely on its way into the Charger in the near future. Imagine the looks on your passengers' faces when you stomp down on the throttle.
According to Road and Track, when Dodge submitted the Hellcat for engine power certification to the Society of Automotive Engineers, the company included the Charger on the paperwork. That showed that the automaker wanted the engine checked out for the sedan, too. R&T reckons the 707-hp Charger would hit the road about a year from now, clearing the Challenger for a year of exclusivity with the powerplant.
When the Charger SRT Hellcat does hit the road, it may carry a very special accolade. Assuming nothing beats it in the meantime, it might be the world's highest horsepower production sedan. Think on that for a second. Even a Mercedes S65 AMG only has 621 horsepower, though a good bit more torque at 738 pound-feet to the Dodge's 650 lb-ft. So while the beastly engine is getting put into other models, where else would you like to see it? The Ram? Grand Cherokee? Let us know in Comments.
