1970 Dodge Coronet R/t Magnum 2-door Hardtop 7.2l on 2040-cars
Junction City, Kansas, United States
Up for Auction a 1970 Dodge Coronet 440 Magnum R/T With 727 transmission 22,800.00 Original miles. My friend and I went to look at this car approx 35 years ago with the idea that I was going to buy it, well it did'nt turn out that way, my friend Dennis wanted it so bad he begged me to let him buy it as he had a 1968 Dodge Charger that got totaled by a tree falling on it. so I let him have it. big mistake as Dinnes put the car in storage and never did anything with it. in the mean time he got sick and was unable to do anything with it. I keep trying to get him to sell it back to me but he just did not want to sell. anyway Dennis past on. His wife knew the whole story and sold me the car. It had approx 17,000 miles on it when Dennis got it and was in excellent condition, when I got the car it had 18, 443 miles and after sitting in storage 30 or so years it was in poor condition with dents, scratches, rust on lower right quarter panel and the hood and top were damaged due to storing junk on it. the right front fender had damage, no magor damage but enough to make you sick to your stomach. I was very dissapointed in the looks of the car, i was expecting to see the car like it was. He had taken the vinyl top part the way off and some of the trim. had some rust just below the rear window where the vinyl ended. Had to replace too small patch panals it was more surface rust, but replaced them anyway. I decited not to put the vinyl top back on but still have all the trim. after sitting for so long and not being started I was a little concerned. after cleaning the fuel tank and fuel lines I thought now or never, I removed the ignition wires and the engine turned over everything sounded normal hooked everything up and was very surprised that it started and ran pretty good, I felt like jumping up and down and I did, things were looking up. Curtis and I did all the body work, spent lots of time making sure it was straight. has all the original brakes, they look new and work like new. The interior has been replaced all new, and I kept the old interior with carpet and headliner, the old interior was ok just dirty looking. I put about 4,000 miles on it. it's a great driver and looks that will turn heads. has electronic ignition, new carburator and water pump. I have all the original parts wheels also. I have the build sheet. There were approx 2,100 built a 1 year only body style. You really got to see and drive this car to appreciate it. Dallas Richards was the original owner and still lives in Junction City, he would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Dallas purchased this car when he returned from Vietnam 1969 he said he got it for his wife she wanted something fast. the car is not perfect by any means. Not sure of rear end gears, all I know is that it's positrac and gets off the line fast. It's no interstate cruser. Stellantis reports surprising 2020 results, is 'off to a flying start'
Wed, Mar 3 2021MILAN — Low global car inventories and cost cuts should boost Stellantis's profit margins this year, though a shortage of semiconductors and investments in electric vehicles could weigh on results, the newly-formed automaker said on Wednesday. The forecast came as Stellantis, created by the January merger of Peugeot-maker PSA and Fiat Chrysler (FCA), reported better-than-expected results for 2020 that sent its shares up around 3% in morning trading. "Stellantis gets off to a flying start and is fully focused on achieving the full promised synergies (from the merger)," Chief Executive Carlos Tavares said in a statement. Stellantis is the world's fourth largest carmaker, with 14 brands including Fiat, Peugeot, Opel, Jeep, Ram and Maserati. It said 2021 results should be helped by three new high-margin Jeep vehicles in North America and a strong pricing environment there. The U.S. market has driven profits for years at FCA and starts off as the strongest part of Stellantis. The group's guidance assumes no more significant lockdowns caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, which shuttered auto plants around the world last spring. Stellantis should also get a lift as its starts to implement a plan aimed at delivering over 5 billion euros a year in savings, without closing any plants. Tavares has also pledged not to cut jobs. But a pandemic-related global shortage of semiconductors, used for everything from maximizing engine fuel economy to driver-assistance features, could hurt business. Auto industry executives have said the shortage should ease by the second half of 2021. Stellantis said its "electrification offensive" could also weigh on results this year. Automakers are racing to develop electric vehicles to meet tighter CO2 emissions targets in Europe and this week Volvo joined a growing number of carmakers aiming for a fully-electric line-up by 2030. Stellantis plans to have fully-electric or hybrid versions of all of its vehicles available in Europe by 2025, broadly in line with plans at top rivals such as Volkswagen and Renault-Nissan, although Stellantis has further to go to meet that goal. The carmaker is targeting an adjusted operating profit margin of 5.5%-7.5% this year. That compares with a 5.3% aggregated margin last year: 4.3% at FCA and 7.1% at PSA excluding a controlling stake in parts maker Faurecia, which is set to be spun-off from Stellantis shortly.
Ram to go on a Rampage with new small pickup?
Wed, 16 Jul 2014When people look back at today's automotive industry, what do you think they'll remember us for? The emergence of hybrids? Ever more expensive and exotic supercars? The dawn of the self-driving car? All likely scenarios, but so is the blurring of lines between one bodystyle and another, giving rise to hardtop convertible coupes and crossovers of every shape and size. But one bodystyle the North American auto industry has stayed largely away from in the past couple of decades is a car nose and chassis with a pickup bed.
It's a bodystyle immortalized by the Chevrolet El Camino, but with few exceptions, we haven't seen too many of these automotive platypuses in recent years on our turf. Subaru tried with the Baja and the low-volume Honda Ridgeline soldiers along largely unchanged, but the genre's biggest adherents are still Down Under, where ute versions of the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon live. With a few other examples scattered to the four corners of the earth, that's really about it. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it looks like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles could be working to bring it back.
Spied undergoing testing in Michigan, what we appear to be looking at is a heavily disguised Fiat Strada being prepared - like the Fiat Ducato-based Ram ProMaster and the smaller Doblo-based ProMaster City - for Stateside duty as a Ram product. The Strada, for those unfamiliar, is a product of Fiat Automóveis in Brazil and is based on the Palio economy car. The nameplate has been around South America since 1996 and was originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (long before Volkswagen monopolized his talents), and takes a more rugged approach in the form of the Strada Adventure.
2013 Dodge Dart gets brace of new special edition models
Thu, 16 May 2013After almost a year on the market it, it is becoming more clear to Dodge how customers like to option out their Darts, so the automaker has combined popular features into three special edition packages and sweetened the prices. Start with a standard 2013 Dart and add either the SXT or Limited "Special Editions" or Rallye Appearance Group, and you'll save yourself a lot of box checking.
The $595 Dart SXT Special Edition takes the trim just above the base model and adds a new grille, dark-tinted headlights and projector fog lights, LED racetrack taillights, cruise control and audio controls on the leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Limited Special Edition starts with the top-end model and adds a power sunroof, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and Nappa leather seats among other features, for $1,810.
The Rallye Appearance Group (pictured) is a package for the SXT, and it blacks out the front fascia, throws on 17-inch wheels and some badging for $395. The new special editions are reaching dealers now and could help the Dart's sales to further improve after a slow start. You can find out more about them in the press release below.
