Finksburg, Maryland, United States
Up for bid is a unbelievable copper in color 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T with matching numbers that drives like new! This car was born in these gorgeous colors and has been beautifully maintained. Meticulously serviced and garaged it's whole life, this car is truly one of a kind. No major chips or discoloration on the original factory color paint. This paint job has a glass finish with a truly impressive depth of color. The vinyl roof has no rips, tears, or fading. You will not find factory restoration paint job like this one! Satin black Bumble Bee style vinyl stripe on the trunk accents the burnished copper penny paint, while 440 Magnum badges flank the hood.
With a 383 cu. in 6.3L V8 B engine with a four barrel carburetor under the hood, that would become the model Mopar performance engine for the next decade after its inception. Pushing out a impressive 330 gross horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, this car has all the power and performance you could desire on the street. The 383 would go on to trump the 392 Hemi, with its relatively short stroke making it not only free-revving, but also free-breathing; ideal for true Mopar muscle performance. New valve covers keep this V8 in check and ready for anything the road or driver might have to ask. A factory automatic transmission keeps this car smoothly shifting through gears on the floor, with no issues whatsoever. This set-up packs a serious punch and growls through polished dual exhaust. A near spotless interior with factory leather seats, carpeting, and all accents intact. You will not find a cleaner, better maintained Coronet at this price! The factory front bucket seats with middle center console have no rips, tears, or wear marks and the same follows into the rear seats. The factory seat belts are in wonderful condition, ready for their next hot rod driver and passenger! Factory air conditioning and original tinted glass keep the interior of this muscle car cool and comfortable in even the hottest of weather, while the original factory radio keeps the tunes going on the longest of drives. The dash shows no signs of cracking or fading. The carpeting is in show room shape, with no fading, rips or tears. The newer GT steering wheel adds a clean, polished look to the interior. Dual mirrors on the exterior are crack free with no dents, dings, or noticeable scratching in the chrome. All trim pieces are in fabulous shape and are all intact. 18" & 20" Coy wheels set this piece of American Mopar history apart, and beautifully accent the originality of the car. Tires have great tread, barely been driven since they were put on! The trunk is pristine with the original factory undercoating still intact. This Coronet has a clean title, ready to be put in your name. True miles unknown, but was originally purchased knowing it was a very low mile car. You do not find Mopar muscle with paint and interiors like this one! A/C will need to be charged before use. A beautiful restoration ready for its new owner. Buyer is responsible for pick-up/shipping. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Can provide additional photos or information upon request. Serious bidders only, fee of $125.00 charged for non-payment on vehicle. |

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.
Dodge Viper returning to Le Mans this year?
Mon, Jan 5 2015If you were among the fans disappointed by Chrysler's recent decision to end the Dodge Viper's racing program, we may have some good news for you, as the racing outfit behind the campaign is reportedly working to bring the American supercars back to Le Mans this year. That racing outfit is Riley Technologies, a constructor perhaps best known for its Daytona Prototypes, but it has also prepared its share of GT racers, too. Chrysler charged Riley with leading its racing program for the new Viper GTS-R, campaigned it in the United SportsCar Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Auburn Hills made the unfortunate decision back in March to pull its Vipers out of Le Mans, and then in October to withdraw from the US series, as well, thereby effectively ending the program altogether. Disappointed though it surely was, Riley remains defiant. The North Carolina-based company is planning on taking the existing Vipers back to Le Mans on its own, with or without factory support. The Viper has, after all, proven a capable machine, having taken both the drivers' and teams' titles in the United SportsCar Championship this past season. "With Le Mans, every driver and every manufacturer needs to have their first trip there, and it isn't always what you want it to be, but we did show reliability and did have some pace," Bill Riley told Racer.com. "Since then, we've worked hard on the cars, they're now strong, front-running cars in the US, and we're working with the ACO on the BoP to make sure the cars are strong at Le Mans. They're super-reliable and fast, and we'd expect to be right in the mix with the other cars." Riley has kept the existing support staff in place, and once it secures its driver lineup and sponsors, chances look good that it could represent America well at Le Mans this year in either the GTE Pro or GTE Am class. Its predecessor did, after all, complete a three-year winning streak that saw it dominate the GTS class right up until its withdrawal in 2000. John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction
Thu, Jun 25 2015Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
