1969 Dodge Super Bee Coronet 383 Air Grabber 4spd on 2040-cars

For sale is my 1969 Dodge Super Bee. It has a rebuilt 383 motor and 4spd manual transmission. I've owned the car for a number of years but don't drive it that often. The motor has around 3000 mi on it. It runs very well. Has a warmed up .484 lift Hemi grind cam, and a number of other improvements. The most problematic part of the car is probably the body. It had rust repair done in the form of new rear quarters, but the body was not well prepped so in the paint, you can see waves in the panels, and some paint peal. It is still solid and presentable. This was done before I got the car. The motor is not original to the car, (not #'s matching), but it is an Original Bee 4spd 383 Air Grabber car. All there. Also No fender tag, no build sheet. More pictures will be posted soon.

I am not going to tell you that this is a show car, or that it doesn't have it's issues, but it is safe, reliable, and a fun driver quality muscle car, which is way better than how I recieved it. So you can enjoy it like it is for time to come, or improve it to suit you, and take it to the next level.

Many improvements were done to help drivability and safety. Totally rebuilt front and rear ends w / polygraphite bushings, new shocks, new super stock springs, added disk brakes. Put in new interior, new gas tank, gauge however still doesn't work. All new full dual exhaust, with Flowmasters out through the original style chrome tips. Have all receipts. I also put in some 3.91 gears and sure grip, to help it move down the road, that made it not a long distance highway car, but it does get up and move around town. Check out the pics. New rubber also, your choice of tire rim combo, I like the old super stock look but for getting around, the 17" magnums and low profile tires can't be beat.

I don't go by the old adage that "he who dies with the most toys wins". I'd like to play with as many toys as I can, and since I don't have unlimited space or money, I am trying to free up some cash and room in my garage. Therefor i'm not really interested in trades at this point.

Take a look at the pictures if you have questions then let me know. If you want to see something specific let me know. Please no solicitors, I have other projects I would like to move on to, and this needs a good home. It really is a strong runner for the street or moderate strip duty. It is listed locally in Albuquerque, and a smart buyer can figure out how to view that, and contact that way.

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.

2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.

Amazon opens contest for The Grand Tour tickets in the US

Thu, Jul 7 2016

British enthusiasts already had the opportunity to win tickets to the first taping of The Grand Tour, and now Amazon has opened up a similar chance for customers in the US. In celebration of Prime Day, which starts today, customers in the US can enter The Grand Tour Prime Day Prize Draw. The prize includes travel, $200 to spend, accommodation, and a meet and greet with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Customers that are interested fulfilling a childhood dream should visit Amazon's website and fill out the entry form soon as the draw closes on July 12. The Grand Tour will launch this fall as an exclusive for Amazon Prime members with the exact city locations for studio records set to be revealed later this summer. Amazon, however, did reveal that the trio will host shows in the UK, US, and Germany. So there's no need to get too upset if you don't win the draw. With Top Gear getting a major shakeup with the departure of Chris Evans, we're itching to see Clarkson, Hammond, and May behind the wheel of cars again. The trio, it seems, is also excited to get the new show rolling as Clarkson posted a drifty video on his Facebook page. The trio are currently in Italy filming a comparison between an Aston Martin DB11, a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and Rolls-Royce Dawn. The five-second clip has the Challenger Hellcat and DB11 drifting head-on into the camera crew, which is behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo.
