UP FOR AUCTION

Beautiful 1968 Dodge Coronet Super bee clone.  An excellent example of original mopar muscle.  Engine is 440 HP High Performance engine recently rebuilt and running perfectly!!   These 440 HP engines were are extremely fast, and were nicknamed “The Hemi Killer.”  The motor is paired with a smooth shifting console automatic 727 HD Torque Flight transmission that has been rebuilt and shifts very firmly and sharply through all gears with absolutely no lag!!

The rear is a fresh “3.73” posi that has recently been installed to replace its original “2.73” rear.  This fresh posi “3:73” provides  outstanding torque “off the line”, and, throughout all points in the RPM range.  At any point in operation, the power and acceleration of this car is phenominal, and, the addition of the MSD ignition and sound of the Four barrel Holley HP4150 kicking in is beyond description,  You honestly have to drive it to believe it!

The black vinyl bucket seats, as well as the rest of the interior is in good condition.  Seats have no rips, or tears.  All door panels have recently been replaced with “Year One” top quality panels. There is only one very slight mar behind the driver’s seat that was professionally repaired.  The Body was recently media blasted, and the car looks excellent.

Interior is immaculate with all original seats, no rips, no tears.  Front seats are bucket with a slapstick console automatic between the excellent original black vinyl seats. The Car runs excellent, and stops well with its front disc breaks.  The car is mostly originally, however the ignition has been updated to an MSD, as well as a Holley HP4150 double Pumper Carburetor. The conversion is completely reversible for originality however they allow the car to be more streetable, and it cold starts very easily with the MSD ignition.  The body is in excellent condition and is very straight.  The interior is in good condition, all lights work, and the glass is in good condition. The interior is all original and as you can see, beautiful.  The carpet is in fair condition. The radio has been disconnected to use a modern fm,cd,mp3 player.   If any questions arise please contact me and I will take more pictures and provide as much information as I can. As the owner of the car for the last ten years I have considerable documentation. A  Video of the car can be seen by clicking the link below, or copying and pasting the text into your browser.  You cannot even go to the store without people trying to take pictures. It will not disappoint.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat ringtone revs up [w/video]

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The best (or worst, depending on your views) thing about smartphones is that you're able to carry lots, and lots of useful stuff around in your pocket. That means you can always have a phone, messaging service, email, flashlight, calculator, dictionary, encyclopedia, and literally thousands of other things on your person at all times. Now, we can add one more thing for you to carry about in your little slab of aluminum, glass and plastic - a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Now, you obviously can't carry around a 707-horsepower muscle car around in your pocket. That'd be ridiculous, impractical and uncomfortable. You can, however, carry around the noise made by said muscle car's 6.2-liter, supercharged Hemi V8, thanks to a new, free-to-download ringtone from the folks at Dodge and SRT.
We can't embed the ringtone here, so if you'd like to hear exactly how it'll sound when your phone goes off, you'll need to head over to the SRT Hellcat's page. If that's more trouble than it's worth, the same ringtone was attached to a tiny speaker on the press kit for the mighty Challenger, and was captured on video by our own Seyth Miersma (don't worry, he's already been soundly dressed down for shooting a video in portrait mode).
