1967 Dodge Coronet R/t - Numbers Matching - Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States
Up for auction is my 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T with the numbers matching drive train - 440 magnum, 727 transmission and 8-3/4" rear with 3.23 gearing and Sure Grip (the rear was refurbished by Dr. Diff). This car is stored 100% of the time in an air-conditioned garage when not being driven. I don't have time to drive the car as often as it should be driven and I'm picking up another project to do. This is a beautiful car and turns heads wherever it goes. From the paperwork I got with car, it underwent a restoration in 2009-2010 time frame. When I got the car, it still needed a few things and I took care of those while I've had the car the last few years. It runs great, stops and turns well and the body is rock solid. There is no rust that I can find; the floor pans, and trunk well have been replaced during the restoration. It has new headliner, carpets, padding, etc. - really nice interior. The car is not a concours car but is a really nice shower & driver.
Everything on this car is in excellent working condition with the exception of the clock & radio. Installed a newly refurbished under dash Pioneer KP-500 FM Cassette deck (the dash was NOT cut up to install an aftermarket stereo) with auxiliary plug in for iPod or similar device with a jack port - looks vintage (round dial) and sounds & works great - it has an amp tucked out of sight with new JBL 6X9 speakers). I replaced the stock electronic ignition conversion with a Mopar Performance billet distributor, Mopar performance chrome ignition control and Firecore 50 stock plug wire replacements. An original date correct Carter 4327s carburetor was restored by Harms Auto - these are expensive and hard to come by, not many are left. I installed new BF Goodrich Silver Town Red Line tires & new chrome Road Wheels from Vintiques, including new correct center caps - these really set the car off. These are 15" rims & tires, I just didn't like the looks of 14" wheels on the car. The engine, transmission and rear end was completely rebuilt (have the receipts) and a pile of Year One receipts for the rest of the car. The bumpers are new triple plated chrome Tri-City units - very nice; I have the original front/rear bumperette's but I left them off the car, as I like the clean look better, they will go with the car. The interior is excellent with buckets and buddy seat, column shift. Here's the fender tag breakdown: A5 = Buddy seat B4 = Front bucket seats J4 = Door sill moldings A1 = 26" radiator F3 = Special Body R/T R1 = AM radio (not working) X2 = Tint windshield only B8 = Upper door paint with Delete stripe SS1 = Cream/Cream Mono Paint (pale yellow - IMO classy) P6X = Premium black bucket seats 48 = Sure Grip differential with 3.23:1 gearing 08269 = order number present stamped into the radiator core support and behind the rear bumper bracket 209 = February 09 Build 485 = Five 7.75 X 14 Red Line tires including the spare 5 = Automatic transmission 83 = 440 HP engine WS23 = Coronet R/T hardtop See pics for more detail. Call (772) 607-3389 if you have any questions. I reserve the right to terminate this auction at any time, as the car is advertised for sale locally and on other car websites. I welcome personal inspections of the car by prospective buyers. This is a really nice car and I'm not afraid to show it to anyone. I work out of state but am home every few weeks and inspections can be scheduled during those times - no inspections or drives will be permitted unless I am present for them. I will require a 10% deposit within 48 hours of the auction close - no PayPal payments or deposits on this car. CASH at the local Wells Fargo Bank or a wire transfer are the only payment options. I will require 10 working days to get the title from the bank after your payment clears. |

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled
Sun, 24 Feb 2013A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.
China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians
Tue, Aug 15 2017NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
Dodge Dart pushed toward the grave with simplified lineup
Tue, Apr 12 2016FCA announced a while back that the Dodge Dart and its Chrysler 200 half-sibling are on the way out due to lack of interest. The 2016 model year will be the Dart's last, and Dodge has just reconfigured the lineup mid-year to lower (relative) pricing and streamline ordering. Streamlined is a nice way of saying there will be fewer choices, with three models (down from five) and limited customization beyond choosing the paint color. The odd thing is that the Dart continues to offer three different engines. And while the prices of the individual models have decreased, the former SE base trim is now gone. That means an early-2016 Dart was available for as little as $17,990, while the late-2016 Dart starts at $18,990. For that sum you get the new base model, the SXT Sport, which replaces the SXT and comes with the 2.0-liter Tigershark four-cylinder (160 horsepower, 148 lb-ft of torque) and a six-speed manual; a six-speed automatic is an available option. Standard equipment includes normal entry-level car stuff, black cloth upholstery, 16-inch wheels, and grille shutters that help improve fuel economy. The SXT Sport can be dressed up with one of three different appearance packages; Chrome adds bright accents to parts including the grille and door handles, Rallye has a black grille and a touring suspension, and the Blacktop package makes pretty much everything on the exterior black and includes a sport-tuned suspension. All three packages come with bigger wheels, too. From there it's on to the new Dart Turbo, for $20,490. It comes with the 1.4-liter turbo four (160 hp, 184 lb-ft of torque) and comes exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. This is supposed to be the model for enthusiasts, which is how Dodge is selling the switch to manual-only. Ditching the disliked dual-clutch automatic that was previously offered with this engine doesn't hurt. This engine was also used in the former Aero model, as it's the most fuel-efficient in the lineup. The Turbo gets the Rallye appearance stuff and a different hood. At the top is the Dart GT Sport, starting at $21,900. It has the 184-hp, 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder and a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission. This is the one with features, including a power driver's seat, the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment unit, digital reconfigurable gauges, dual-zone auto climate, keyless start, and a rearview camera. The latter-part-of-2016 Dart will be available in eight colors.
