THIS CAR IS AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN THE LATTER PART OF 1966 FROM A DODGE DEALER IN DELEVAN, NY. IT WAS TRADED IN ON A NEW 1970 CHARGER AND THEN REPUCHASED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER IN 1971-72 WHEN IT BECAME AVAILABLE. AT THIS TIME IT WAS REPAINTED IN ITS ORIGINAL COLOR. THIS ORIGINAL OWNER HAS NOW REACHED AN AGE WHERE HE DOES NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING ANYMORE AND WOULD LIKE TO SELL THIS INCREDIBLE TIME CAPSULE. IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL INTERIOR IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, ORIGINAL TOP SHOWING SOME WEAR IN BOTH REAR CORNERS. OF COURSE IT IS ALL NUMBERS MATCHING, VIN AND DATA PLATES INTACT, IT RUNS AND DRIVES EXCELLENT AND HAS NO RUST VISIBLE ANYWHERE ON THIS EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF AN ORIGINAL R/T. THESE THINGS ARE EASILY FIXED AND NOT A MAJOR ISSUE. IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET ANTENNA AND IS MISSING ONE BACK-UP LIGHT. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS COMPLETE DOWN TO BUMPER JACK , CONVERTIBLE TOP BOOT, AND OWNERS MANUAL. I'M ASSUMING THE BUILD SHEET IS STILL UNDER THE BACK SEAT BUT CAN'T VERIFY THAT. BUMPERS ARE ORIGINAL AND SHOW SOME "WASHING" AND REAR HAS SLIGHT PIMPLING. Queens man knows how to party, disrupts Mets game with van
Fri, Jun 24 2016A New Yorker and all-around true American hero took his weekend festivities a little too far and landed himself in front of a judge last week. According to NBC New York, Nelson Hidalgo drove his unassuming Sprinter to Citi Field on Saturday, June 18, around 10:45 p.m. While the Mets were getting thrashed by the Braves, Hidalgo pulled up to the intersection of 127th street and 35th avenue. Hiding within the van's cargo area were 80 speakers driven by powerful amps, around $20,000 worth of car audio. Hidalgo opened the Sprinter's rear doors, deployed his amazing speaker system, cracked a cold Coors Light, and unleashed hell. Noise complaints immediately started flooding in to the police, including one from the Mets' bullpen. Soon, Hidalgo amassed a sizable crowd who had come to rock out and marvel at the lunacy of the Sprinter's sound system. The NYPD showed up eventually and, undaunted by noise and the crowd, clapped the irons on poor Nelson. The Sprinter was impounded and Hildago was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance, general noise prohibition, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the driver's view. "I know it's illegal, but it's the weekend," he explained to the cops as they hauled him away. Once they had him in custody, the NYPD realized that Hidalgo was the person they had been looking for in connection with absurdly loud music coming from various city junkyards in the dead of night. Hidalgo, who has no prior record, spent the night in the slammer but was released the next morning with no bail on the promise that he return for his court date on August 1. Related Video:
We cruised Woodward in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/video]
Tue, 19 Aug 2014
We were definitely rock stars at the 20th edition of the Dream Cruise.
The yell came from somewhere in the crowd: "Hey Hellcat, push it!" We obliged with a jab of the throttle, and the 707 horses of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roared to life. It went on like this. All weekend. It's one thing to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, it's quite another to star in it.
Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.
