1966 Dodge Coronet We Code Police/fleet Car on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
Unavailable for public purchase, the WE series cars were fleet vehicles sold to police departments and insurance companies. Production was very low and few survive as a result of years of these strippers being used as parts cars for the sexier models. But with the recent uptick in popularity of base models and strippers, this ultra-stripper should be a great restoration candidate. Its nearly rust-free condition should be attractive to any enthusiast, and with only 39,000 original miles, it is a true survivor that should require less than normal restoration investment to make this a real standout car.
I traced this car to Libby, Montana, and upon contacting the City, County, and police departments, was unable to confirm if this was indeed one of their cars, (basically, they never got back to me on promises to "look into it") ... but the City did dissolve their police dept. in 1967 to use County services and this may explain the car's low miles and civilian end use. More investigation might get a hard answer, but I will leave this for a future owner to push. Options appear to be limited to basic radio, tinted glass, and 15" wheels, the latter perhaps part of the fleet package ? I won't get all flowery telling you how "awesome" this car is like so many other ebay sellers. Anyone who knows B-body knows how special this beast is. It is a barn find, not driven since 1979. It has 39,830.4 original miles and the transmission interior and rear end reflect a very low miles car. It needs a little TLC, but it is all there, very unmolested original, and VERY restorable. Wheels were blasted and repainted and the car sits on brand new, high quality radials. Feel free to ask any specific questions. I am selling this car with bill of sale, as I have lost the title. Potential buyers are invited to inspect this car in person. Winning bidder is expected to make 100% payment of winning bid within 10 business days of auction end. Pickup shall be arranged to happen within 30 days of auction end, unless other arrangements are agreed to by seller. Cash, or cashier's check are acceptable payment methods. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping from point of sale. Car is for sale locally and auction will be cancelled if sold locally first. I encourage all interested buyers to contact me directly for an honest description to any questions you might have I am available most any time between 8:00am and 8pm PST. 509 . 953 . 4150 |

Dodge delaying Challenger Hellcats ordered with satin black hood [UPDATE]
Tue, Dec 16 2014The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of the most formidable muscle cars on the planet. And it looks the part, too – especially with the optional satin black hood. But if you were one of the first customers to place an order for the 707-horsepower Mopar muscle car and specified the black hood on the options sheet, you may have to wait awhile. According to members of the Hellcat.org forum cited by Car and Driver, deliveries of certain Challenger Hellcats have been delayed without explanation. When these fanatic customers started looking into the issue, they realized that all of the delayed orders shared one thing in common: they all had ordered their Dodges with that optional black hood. Although an exact reason wasn't specified, those who ordered the black hood on their Challenger coupes were told that delivery was being pushed back to February. But some were reportedly informed by their local dealership that things could be moved along if they switched their order to a body-colored hood instead. It's not clear if the issue is a supplier problem, a paint booth issue at the factory, or something else entirely. We've reached out to Dodge for clarification, and will update this story when we hear back. UPDATE: Reached for comment, a Dodge spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the satin black hood "is not currently available for production" and that customers who ordered it "can opt to change their order to a body-color hood" or otherwise have their orders delayed until the option becomes available at a later date to be confirmed.
Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle
Sun, Aug 21 2022The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. Dodge and Jeep recalling 895k SUVs for possibility of headliner fires
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Dodge and Jeep are announcing recalls of a total of 895,000 Durango and Grand Cherokee models worldwide from the 2011 through 2014 model years. There's a possibility that the wiring in the sun visor can short circuit and cause a fire. It specifically affects vehicles built between January 5, 2010, and December 11, 2013, and there are approximately 651,000 of them in the US, 45,700 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico and 175,000 outside of North America.
Screws that fasten the sunvisor to the headliner may pierce wires in the visor, if the part has been removed or serviced, potentially causing a fire risk. If the wires short circuit, they could overheat and potentially combust. The automakers report three injuries caused by this defect, and according to the investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "there may be a total of 52 unique fire incidents."
To fix the problem, Dodge and Jeep will inspect the vehicles for suspect wiring, and all of the models, whether damaged or not, will get a new sun visor spacer with a wire guide to stop the possibility of short circuits. According to the automakers' announcement, "this condition is not present in vehicles which have not had the headliner or vanity mirror serviced." They will notify affected owners, and repairs will begin in August.
