Up for auction is a classic 1965 Dodge Coronet 440 2 Door Hardtop in very decent restorable condition or drive it as a daily driver. This car is tan in color with mostly original paint that is in daily driver condition. The car has tan cloth interior with a stock original bench seat with some front to rear tears and a back seat that is original and does not have any tears. The pictures do not show the back seat as it was out for floor cleaning of normal trash when I took the pictures. Starting at the front, grill and bumper decent but not perfect, left front fender has some damage at the front corner with some minor dents, hood has one minor ding, minor dents on the left door and left quarter panel, roof looks perfect, all glass nice condition, deck lid has no dents, rear bumper has some dents, right door and quarter panel have several small dents, minimal dents on the right front fender, some rust etching in the right front floor area, no rust through, very little rust etching in left front floor area, no rust through, left rear floor area has no rust, and right rear has some rust etching but again nothing close to rust through. The trunk floor area has some moderate rust etching and I noticed a few pin holes when I had the gas tank out for cleaning. The trunk area has been completely treated with por-15 and looks just fine. This car was sitting for over 15 years and I had to clean out the fuel system (fuel tank clean and no rust inside) rebuild the carburetor, replace some fuel hoses, minor tune-up, new timing chain, new water pump, new radiator hoses, new thermostat, rodded out radiator, new freeze plugs, and new anti-freeze.318 V-8 engine has good compression, does not smoke, but does still idle kind of rough when cold. Probably my carb rebuild but no big deal on that. This car has had the automatic transmission oil and filter replaced and works very well. All rear end seals and fluid have been replaced. New master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, and the drums have been machined. Car has good tires including a spare and jack assembly. All lights work, car has factory air conditioning which seems to work ok, has a remote type left side mirror, and has a stock radio that does not work. This car was originally a power window car but none of the windows worked so I converted it to nice working original type manual windows. The interior door panels are pretty rough and will need replacing as well as the rear package tray and the carpets. I do still have most all of the original power window parts and they are available if someone wants to convert this car back to power windows. I think I have covered most every thing I can think up and if there are any questions, feel free to ask or give me a call at 408-507-4362. This car is currently registered up to date in Calif. with a current non-op title. Thanks for looking.

2015 Dodge Viper price drops $15k for 2015

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

We recently saw updated specs and new trims of the 2015 Viper, but it looks like the folks at Dodge were saving the biggest surprise for last. Prices on all levels of the American sports car are seeing an immediate, across-the-board price cut of $15,000; even 2014 models still remaining on dealer lots.
The new MSRP for the 2015 Viper in its base SRT trim now starts at $84,995, and when the TA and GTS come to the lineup later next year, they start at $100,995 and $107,995, respectively. The move seems like a swing for the fences that might help to quell slow sales.
Obviously, current Viper owners might be somewhat peeved that their investment was just re-priced by the company. However, to assuage some of their concerns, Dodge is giving all fifth-gen owners a certificate worth $15,000 towards the purchase of a new one, which comes in addition to the price reduction.

Dodge Hornet supposedly snapped inside Alfa Romeo Tonale factory

Tue, Feb 22 2022

It appears that someone in Stellantis' Pomigliano d’Arco Assembly Plant in Italy couldn't keep their cellphone to themselves. Video uploaded to the Alfa Romeo Club Italia Facebook page, then quickly removed, purports to show Dodge's brand-engineered version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale in the same factory where the Alfa will be built. The Dodge is expected to be called the Hornet, and there are a few differences between it and and Alfa Romeo, which is understandable. But if the screenshots on Twitter are accurate, then the Dodge looks a lot closer to the Alfa Romeo than perhaps anyone expected. The front fascia and hood fall in line with Dodge's design language. The Alfa grille is replaced by a narrow, stepped upper grille, and the hood is one of the vented units similar to those available for Dodge's R/T performance trims. And as Mopar Insiders noticed, the silhouette of this car's front end matches a vehicle silhouette Dodge showed during Stellantis' 2021 EV Day.   Inside, the Italian brand's crest in the steering wheel center cap is replaced by Dodge's twin slashes, and the steering wheel has been stripped of the large, curved paddle shifters the Tonale showed on its debut. There's still a start/stop button on the steering wheel, but where the Tonale has a driving mode dial on its dash, this supposed Hornet has another start/stop button. Dodge's push-to-start buttons are usually on the instrument panel, so our guess is that the wheel is a holdover for testing. On the center tunnel, the parking alert buttons and Italian Tricolore flag on the Alfa Romeo are replaced by three different buttons.   We've known Dodge has two electrified vehicles on the way, and the Hornet name has been low-key buzzing for two years. Fiat Chrysler applied to trademark the name in the U.S. in March 2020; at the time, it was thought a vehicle with that name could replace the Journey. In 2021, a July rumor out of Italy was the first whisper of the Hornet name being attached to the Alfa Romeo Tonale. In August, when Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said Dodge would get a PHEV in 2024, watchers pegged that model as the Hornet. That hybrid powertrain would show a year after the vehicle's launch, the Hornet anticipated as a 2023 model with the Tonale's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. That engine could get the same 256 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque as the Tonale, or be boosted to satisfy Dodge's performance credentials.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
