Numbers Matching 1968 Charger Rt on 2040-cars
Riverdale, Georgia, United States
|
For sale is a numbers matching 1968 Charger RT. The photo with the white interior is how I received the car 6 months ago. Absolutely all original body panels (floors, trunk, doors, valance), minor surface rust on the under carriage, no holes or patches.original drive train (engine, transmission and rear end 3.23 sure grip). Original 4 wheel drum brakes (power). The interior was originally white. After purchasing different seat covers and door panels (upper and lower) it became obvious that all the white 'colors' would not match so I opted for black. That means the complete interior was replaced, including the console, dash, seat covers, door panels (upper and lower), arm rest and base, door handles, window cranks, steering wheel (power steering), carpet, seat belts and headliner (headliner comes with car, complete with bows but not yet installed). The car has new bumpers, bumper support brackets, side markers (front& back), LED tail lights, emblems, hood blinkers, 18' Magnum tires and wheels (or original 14"), trunk liner, headlights, windshield, windshield rubber, windshield chrome, rear window chrome, headlight bezels, antennae, radio, under dash wiring harness, battery, dynamat insulation.....the list goes on. You can check my eBay purchases over the last 6 months which total well over 10K spent on this car. Another 4K spent outside of eBay and an additional 6K on the paint. Of course this does not include the cost of the rust free, numbers matching, absolutely straight body 1968 RT. This car does not have a fender tag which can be ordered but does have a Tennessee title. I never registered the car since they do NOT issue titles in Georgia and would have kept the title I have. Also have new 68 Charger tailpipes and hangers which may or may not be installed by close of auction but will go with car.
The paint is 3 months old and has not been completely buffed out. There are flaws in the paint. nothing major but I believe in full disclosure. The original color of the car was burgundy. The new paint is a Dodge color, Wildberry Pearl. It is absolutely stunning. I tried to match the original burgundy as close as I could so I would not have to pull the engine to paint the engine compartment. The engine was rebuilt 5 years ago before the car was but in storage and started every 6-8 months by the previous owner. It runs great. I changed the carburetor to a period correct Carter. The wheels on the car are 18 inch but the original 14 inch magnum wheels can be substituted. The pictures speak for themselves. This car is not that pricey given the fact that it is an original numbers matching car. I've sold two XP cars that were no where near as nice for more than the reserve on this car. Please do not ask the reserve, as the auction will run its course. Only an unrestored, non numbers matching (or rolling) 68 RT will be considered as partial trade ( I have a 426 Hemi I need to find a home for). I am sure I have left out a lot of information so feel free to ask. |

Rest of 2015.5 Dodge Viper lineup available after MSRP drop spurs sales uptick
Sun, Nov 30 2014The Dodge Viper has muscled its way back into buyers' good graces thanks to a $15,000 price drop across-the-board – and we're sure the extra five horsepower didn't hurt, either – posting a 26-percent year-to-date surge after the September realignment. No longer, uh, snakebitten, Dodge is now allowing dealers to place already-sold orders of the TA 2.0 Special Edition and GTS, both of which come with more goodies as standard than on the 2014 models they replace. The $101,995 TA wears a high performance Aero Package consisting of front lower dive planes, front splitter, competition rear spoiler, a dual-mode suspension supporting 18- or 19-inch matte black wheels on Pirelli PZero Corsa tires, two-piece Brembos rotors with black and orange calipers and performance pads, and a five-mode electronic stability control. We'll pretend to ignore features like a "rear carbon fiber applique" on a hardcore V10 sports car. The $107,995 GTS trim throws in Laguna leather seats as standard, an Alcantara headliner and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon system. It will also be the only model that can be had in Ceramic Blue with black stripes, orange brake calipers and GTS gloss black badging. And that rear carbon fiber applique, since it's apparently quite popular. The Connor Avenue plant where workers assemble the Viper by hand will begin production of the TA and GTS in November, the two models will appear in showrooms in Q1 of next year. A press release below has more information. Finally, it appears the only thing Connor Avenue builders looks like it finally has the work to keep everyone at work. {C} New 2015.5 Dodge Viper GTS and TA 2.0 Special Edition Models Now Available for Customer "Sold Orders" With New Pricing and More Content - Dodge Viper sales up 26 percent year-to-date since Dodge repositioned the hand-built exotic in September and reduced the starting price $15,000 - 2015 Dodge Viper's starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $84,995 (all prices exclude gas guzzler tax and destination) - New 2015.5 Viper GTS and TA 2.0 models now available for sold customer orders - Track-ready Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition builds on success of TA model; U.S. MSRP starts at $101,995 and adds high-performance Aero Package, competition rear spoiler and front lower dive planes for increased downforce and improved handling on the track - U.S.
Barracuda's Dodge branding no biggie, but what about engines?
Thu, Aug 27 2015Rumors about a revival of the Barracuda nameplate have been circulating for years now, though which brand it might fall under has been a bit of a mystery. Initial speculation had the car labeled an SRT product, but that acronym has since returned to its former role as a sub-brand for top-performance Mopars. Thanks to leaks from a recent FCA dealership event, we know the Barracuda is back on the table but will be sold under the Dodge umbrella, a move that has been generating a bit of ire from Pentastar fanatics, as the car was originally part of the defunct Plymouth brand. Given what's known about the new model, however, the badge is the least of my concerns about the new car. Let's start with the re-branding itself. This isn't the first time Chrysler has shuffled models around to different brands. The current-generation Viper spent two years as the flagship model under the SRT banner, only to return to Dodge for 2015 when SRT resumed its former role as a sub-brand. Years ago, the Neon was sold as a Plymouth, a Dodge, and a Chrysler model, depending on where you shopped for one. When Plymouth ceased to exist, the last few years of Prowler production got Chrysler badges instead. Then there's the new Jeep Renegade, a model whose name was born out of a trim level. The Barracuda might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. Further examples of naming liberties taken throughout automotive history could fill a book, but suffice it to say that these days a model's name has very little to do with the vehicle itself or any legacy it might have. The Barracuda name might be a particularly sacred cow with enthusiasts, but to me, a much bigger concern is the fact that the car might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. News from the Fiat Chrysler dealer briefing earlier this week indicates that when the next Charger debuts it will share its platform with the Barracuda, much the way the Charger and Challenger are twinned now. One difference is that the Barracuda is tipped to be offered as a convertible, while the modern Challenger is tintop-only. The Charger and Barracuda will use the rear-drive platform developed for Alfa Romeo's new Giulia, itself designed as a BMW M3 fighter both from a dimensional and dynamic standpoint; the Barracuda is expected to be slightly smaller than the current Challenger.
Here's your chance to own a first-year Dodge Viper with just 333 miles
Wed, Dec 4 2019The Dodge Viper is certainly one of the most outrageous cars to come out of the 1990s, with its cartoon styling, massive 8.0-liter V10 engine, and utter disregard for anything other than performance. The first-generation models are the purest example of the breed, with an assemble-it-yourself toupee roof, side curtains, calf-searing side pipes, no air-conditioning (until '94), no airbags, no ABS, and no traction control. This first-year 1992 Viper is coming to Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction in January and has just 333 miles, making it a near-new example of Chrysler's wild child. Only a couple hundred first-year Vipers were built, making them among the rarest of the breed. All '92 models were red, the same color as the 1989 show car, the overwhelming reaction to which spurred Chrysler to put the car into production as a modern-day Cobra. With the Viper's departure in 2017, the car seems destined to forever remain the improbable offspring of a moment in time. That time has passed, but an ultra-low-miles example like this allows its lucky new owner to chance to experience firsthand what all the fuss was about.
