I've helped a lot of people sell a lot of vehicles on eBay over the last 14 years but while photographing this car I was transported back to a time and place I hadn't experienced in several decades!  To listen to this beautiful old 383 / 4 barrel idle is to be transported back to the glory days of muscle cars! I lived it once and now I have the opportunity to re-live a portion of it!  Wow!!!

While living out west a few years ago, my friend Rocky bought this all-original, unmolested, rust-free, 383-powered '68 Charger in St. George, Utah.  Since then, he's rebuilt the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, cooling system, re-done the entire interior including carpet, seats, headliner, guages, etc., etc., etc.!  The body was prepped and re-painted in '68 Charger silver (more about that in the next paragraph) , and a new black vinyl top was installed to cap it all off.  Even the original analog clock works!  And, best of all, there's only 523 miles on the odometer since the car was rebuilt!  The engine fires up as soon as the key is turned, and settles into a smooth, steady, rolling V-8 rumble.  Add a little pressure to the gas pedal and you'll get a full-blown reminder of what the term "muscle car" really means!

There are three issues that keep the car from being a full-blown show car:  1.  Driver's outside door handle doesn't open the door...you must reach inside and use the inside door handle.  2.  The factory Air Conditioning is NOT WORKING.  All the parts and pieces are there but it is now blowing cold. 3. The paint job is not show quality.  Obviously, with the rest of the car being virtually new, nothing short of perfection would be the ideal paint job on this car.  While the paint is very presentable (we'd call it a good 10-footer), it is not perfect, and, in the interest of full disclosure would recommend you inspect it or have it inspected to be sure it will serve your purposes.

If you want to fly in and drive the car home, we will pick you up at the Fargo, ND airport (FAR).  If you wish to have it shipped, we will bend over backward to accommodate your shipper...we want this to be an awesome car-buying experience for you!

We want you to be completely comfortable and confident when bidding on this car.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call me (Jon at 701-840-8038)  between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Central Daylight Time.  Check my feedback and bid with confidence....no disappointments here!

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...

2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

We all knew That Kid. As a freshman, he was a big kid, overweight but surprisingly strong. Still, he was often picked on for his size. Then, he chatted with the football coach, who convinced him that his true calling was on the team's offensive line. After a season on the freshman squad and a summer of two-a-days, this mild-mannered, husky high schooler returned for his sophomore year as a big, imposing, solid piece of muscle. Needless to say, the same bullies that picked on him were praying he'd forgotten about them as a 10th grader.
That's the V8-powered 2015 Dodge Challenger. It arrived on the scene with a max of 425 horsepower and a bit of a weight problem. It completed its proverbial freshman year with a nice 2011 refresh, where the SRT8 was bumped up to 470 hp, but it still had some work to do.
Enter 2015, and fresh off three months of constant burpees and wind sprints, the newest Challenger is as big and powerful as it's ever been, but it's now got poise and potential, and my goodness, it's fun in a way that Dodge's muscle car has never been.

Watch the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat verify its 204-mph top speed

Thu, Jan 29 2015

The industry is producing some ridiculously fast four-doors these days, from the Porsche Panamera and Maserati Quattroporte to the Mercedes E63 AMG and BMW M5. But the fastest of them all doesn't cost six figures. It doesn't even come from Europe. It's made right here in North America, by a US automaker. And it starts at under $64k. We're talking about the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the Pentastar muscle sedan with the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and its 707 horsepower. Dodge claims it's the "quickest, fastest, most powerful [production] sedan ever," and they're not just blowing smoke... or smoking tires. During the final stages of development, engineers from Auburn Hills took a bone-stock, Hellcat-powered Charger out to a seven-mile oval for a top speed run and they filmed the occasion for posterity. The result? 206.9 miles per hour with the wind, 202.2 against it, for a two-way average top speed of 204.55 mph. Chew on that, imports.
