Up for sale is a 1974 Dodge Charger SE Brougham. This is a great car for the money. This is equipped with a 318 motor. The car runs well. I intended to drive this car for the summer, but got too busy with some project going on. So it's time to sell it. The carburetor had been rebuilt but it still needs one seal. We have not put gasoline in the tank due to it was sitting for a few years and did not want to stir any bad gas in the tank. I just didn't have time to remove the tank out and clean it. The gas tank looks clean and sure you can just put fresh gas in it and reconnect the one line. The car runs great though! We just put the gas can to get the car moving. I have driven it down the road with no problems. It is a good running car. We did do a tune up..spark plugs, fuel filter, and ignition wires. The transmission shifts well.
The body of the car:
The front fenders are very nice since they are NOT metal. The front fenders are fiberglass. The hood is the original hood.
There is rust in the inside corners in front of the door sill plates below the door hinges as shown in pics. This is noticeable when opening the door. It does have rot through on both driver and passenger side. There is some rust issues by the bottom of door edges as shown and into rocker.
The doors do have some issues on the bottom corners as shown. It is equipped with power windows. However, they are not working at this time. It does need to be reconnected. All the wiring, motor, and switches are intact.
The roof is nice. There are no noticeable rust areas. It seems to be the original antique grain white vinyl top. There is a dent on the driver side roof line area. It is in the area below the factory seam on the very top of the full quarter panel. Please refer to photo.
The driver side rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel does have rust. It may be best to put a replacement quarter panel skin if you wan to do it right.
The deck lid is actually out of a 71 Dodge Charger. It has the holes for a factory spoiler. It is in good condition with no rot through!
The trunk is very nice...does not have any noticeable holes. It was splatter painted at one time. It does have a brand new. Never used vinyl trunk mat. It does have a full size spare with tire cover and comes with the jack.
The bumpers are good. Not show quality but still shines.
The front grills have cracks or missing pieces in the grill as shown. It does have the SE bar in between the grills...just needs to be painted the red.
The hood is correct for a 74 Charger...no grills.
The rear tail light lenses are VERY NICE. They are Brand NEW. Reproduction licensed with pentastar and number on the tail light lenses. These lenses alone retail at $375.00 for the pair!
It is also equipped with air conditioning. The air conditioning is not currently working, but all parts are there...condenser, lines, and compressor.
There is no hole on the passenger fender for the antenna. The antenna is located in the rear quarter panel as shown..no that is not the original location.
Wheels and Tires
The wheels are 14 inch rallyes with trim rings and rallye centers. The one pic shows the driver side rear wheel without the center cap. It does come with it...just never put it back on. The wheels have been professionally sand blasted and powder coated argent silver. The tires have excellent tread and are BF Goodrich T/A's.
The Interior
The interior is "incredible."
I highly doubt the seat covering are original. The seats are bucket seats and is an off white color. The front bucket seats along with the rear back seat is actually very nice..no rips or tears. This is the highlight of any interior!
The dash pad is MINT. No cracks or tears. It is a very nice dash pad!
The wood grain cluster. It does have the original AM/FM radio. There are no cracks in the cluster.
The carpet looks to be new.
The center console is nice..few small holes in front.
Windshield has no cracks.
Three spoke steering wheel.

Dodge Challenger Shaker cars get Shakedown package stripes
Thu, Mar 8 2018In 2016, Dodge brought a custom 1971 Dodge Challenger to the SEMA show called the Shakedown. It melded modern Challenger parts with the classic model's body, and did so almost seamlessly. It of course featured a shaker hood scoop, and it also had a set of stripes to one side that gradually decreased in size to give the feeling of vibration and movement. The reception was clearly good, because Dodge has created a set of stripes just like those on the show car for modern shaker Challengers and made them available in a package with the Shakedown name. The Shakedown package is new for 2018 and available only on Challengers with the shaker hood scoop. These include the R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, and 392 Scat Pack Shaker. Just like on the concept, the stripes are all to one side and wrap around the hood scoop. The only difference is that they're all one color, whereas the '71 custom car had one stripe in red. In addition to the stripes, the package adds white-face gauges and an upgraded Alpine audio system. On R/T and R/T Plus models, this system has six speakers with a 275-watt amplifier, while the system on the Scat Pack has nine speakers with a 506-watt amplifier. The cost of the Shakedown package is $995, and it's available with any color of Challenger Shaker. And on the topic of colors, Dodge has also revived Plum Crazy and B5 Blue for 2018 Chargers and Challengers. Those colors will be available on any Charger or Challenger regardless of trim level. Tempted by the Demon, dealers find way to thwart Dodge, jack up prices
Mon, Jul 24 2017It's the eternal story of short supply, big demand - and car dealers eager to exploit that dynamic, especially when it involves a hot car. A few weeks ago, when Dodge announced that it devised a way to attempt to prevent price-gouging on those 840-horsepower 2018 Dodge Demons, you just knew the dealers would dream up some devilish end-run. And sure enough, despite the manufacturer's best intentions, Demon order slots are being offered with five-figure markups. Here's how things were supposed to work: With a run of just 3,000 cars, Dodge knew it had to do something to address dealer greed, so it announced an allocation system: Cars purchased at or below the $86,090 MSRP would be the first orders filled and delivered. If a dealer sells an allocated Demon for more than sticker, that car goes to the end of the line for production and delivery. Dodge also ensured dealers wouldn't stockpile or hoard Demons by limiting the number of orders a dealer can submit and allocating cars to dealers based on how many Challenger and Charger Hellcats the dealer has sold. But Automotive News reports that some dealers are using intermediaries to auction off their Demon allocations on eBay. Three sellers last week said they were representing dealers in South Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana, and auctioning off the right to buy a car in one of the priority spots at MSRP. The minimum bid for the right to buy the car at sticker? From $10,000-25,000. And previous transactions on eBay might have run as high as $75,000. So early buyers are definitely paying an upcharge - but it's a thing apart from the bottom line on the order form, where it appears they are paying MSRP. In other words, a scheme that violates the spirit of what FCA tried to do. A source at FCA told Automotive News the automaker was monitoring the practice but could do little to stop it. And the report quoted a Hellcat owner who said his dealership was ignoring Dodge's strictures altogether and offered him a Demon at MSRP plus $60K. But take heart. Not all car dealers are cynically opportunistic - or rather, some see an opportunity for doing good, not making buck. Automotive News says Bill Marsh Chrysler in Traverse City, Mich., plans to sell its single allocated Demon for $1 under MSRP - and is auctioning off the right to buy it, with the dealership's existing customers eligible to bid. The auction's proceeds will benefit four Traverse City charities.
More than half of Mazdas sold in 2018 are CX-5s, and other interesting sales facts
Mon, Jan 7 2019Last year was a seriously good year for carmakers. Overall, more vehicles were sold than in 2017, and the total number wasn't far off of the all-time record in 2016. Digging deeper into the numbers, you'll find some pretty usual stuff including the Ford F-Series still being the bestselling pickup truck in America, and a continued trend toward crossovers. But there are also some oddball factoids tucked in these sales reports, some that defy the trends, and some that are extremes of the public's buying preferences. We've compiled several interesting tidbits from last year's sales right here for your enjoyment. More than half of Mazda's sales were of CX-5s Yes, over half of all Mazda sales were of this one model. The company sold 300,325 cars in America last year, and 150,622 of them were CX-5 crossovers, or 50.1 percent. Just for emphasis, that means the other 49.8 percent of Mazda's sales were split among five other models, the Miata, 3, 6, CX-3 and CX-9. Breaking that down further, the second-best seller was the Mazda3 at 64,638, which isn't even half of the CX-5's sales. People are crazy for Mazda's middle crossover. Volkswagen actually sold more cars than crossovers It's clear that the crossover is the future king of car sales. For most mainstream brands, it already is. Chevy, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Nissan all sold more crossovers and SUVs than they did conventional sedans and hatchbacks. There are holdouts, though, and one of them is Volkswagen. At the end of 2018, the company sold 189,343 cars and 164,721 crossovers in the U.S. So that's one win for the classic car set, and it's justification for VW to maintain its car line for the foreseeable future. It's a bit of a hollow victory, though. Look closer and you'll see that car sales were down 28 percent from 2017, when VW sold 262,029 cars. Crossovers, on the other hand, jumped 112 percent from 2017 when 77,647 crossovers moved through U.S. dealers. So expect the tables to turn very soon. Mustang is still the muscle-car sales king, but Challenger is the only one to improve Once again, the Ford Mustang topped the muscle-car sales charts, beating out the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro. Ford moved 75,842 of the ponies in 2018, while Dodge sold 66,716 Challengers for second place, and Chevy sold 50,963 Camaros to bring up the rear.
