1972 Dodge Charger on 2040-cars

Year:1972 Mileage:999999
Location:

Aguanga, California, United States

Aguanga, California, United States

Up for auction is a 1972 Dodge Charger..  This one has been sitting idle outside for the past 20+ years in the hot desert sun.. It has dings, dents and rust but the floor pans and trunk are rock solid with no rust through..  The lower fenders, rear quarters and one spot on the top of the driver's side fender all have some rust holes that will need to be repaired...   The dash, seats, headliner, door panels and carpet will also require repair or replacement...  The original engine which I believe was a 318ci has been removed, but the original 3 speed automatic transmission with the correct driveshaft is included with this auction..  Also included is an extra driver's side taillight insert to replace the current one which is cracked...

This car is equipped with the desirable hideaway headlights, turn signal indicators on the fenders and also has the 150 mph speedometer...  The glass is all intact and the window regulators work as designed.. The brakes also work...

I have a "complete" running 318ci engine coupled to a 3 speed automatic transmission that I believe was removed from a 1977 Dodge truck that I will offer to the winning bidder for an additional $200.00...

The buyer is responsible for shipping but I will assist with loading and palletizing the engine and transmission if you decide you want them..  I will also consider delivering this vehicle within a 500 mile radius from my location in SoCal..

My low starting bid with no reserve will insure your satisfaction with this 42 year old classic Mopar... Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns...  Call Chip at (951) 551-7956...  I prefer cash or PayPal for payment.. No checks please..

On Mar-14-14 at 06:49:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

I am including a radiator with this car that was removed from a 1977 Dodge truck, so it is not the stock radiator that came from the factory. The transmission cooling lines are included along with the stock transmission..

Chrysler recalling 644k more Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over brakes

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

Early last month, we reported on Chrysler issuing a preemptive, proactive recall for about 25,000 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The issue revolved around a brake system that wasn't causing any actual problems, but delivered an unsatisfactory brake feel, so Auburn Hills called in a good 25,000 of SUVs around the world, including 18,700 in the United States.
Now Chrysler, having apparently determined that the brake problem on its sport utes is actually much bigger than it initially realized, has drastically broadened the scope of the recall. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for precisely 655,354 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Durango, covering the 2011 through 2014 model years. In addition, Chrysler is recalling 42,380 units in Canada, 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 overseas.
The problem which Chrysler found revolves around the brake booster, whose center shell has been found to be subject to corrosion, allowing water to get into the brake system. That water in turn could freeze, preventing the brakes from working as well as expected.

Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets

Fri, 18 Oct 2013

Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.

Chrysler recalling 280k Dodge Ram 1500 pickups over axle seizures

Fri, Dec 19 2014

Following a June investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be recalling 280,000 Dodge Ram pickups from model year 2005. The issue, NHTSA told The Detroit News, centered on a loose pinion nut, which could cause the rear axle to seize and, potentially, the driveshaft to detach. The affected vehicles were built between January of 2004 and August of 2005, while of the 280,000 trucks, only 257,000 were sold in the US market. According to The News, the recall will begin on February 13, and will see owners report to dealerships to have "a retention feature" added to the pinion nut.
