Welcome to my auction, you will not see another Charger like this for a long time, this is a true barn find. This is a 3 owner 1971 triple black Charger SE. This is one of the nicest rollers you will ever find. It is a TRUE high price grade, special edition, 383 CI, 727 auto, black sport vinyl top, black paint, black interior, black carpet, black headliner, black instrument cluster, optioned yellow stripe, with hidden headlights. The best part about this Charger? There is absolutely no rot ANYWHERE on the car, not a bubble, not a hole, nothing but a little surface rust in the trunk and a bit more on the upper windshield under the weather stripping. That is it in terms of rust repair. The car does not have an engine or transmission, I have looked for the original engine and transmission but the original owner did not keep them. The car also needs new wheels and tires, the current set up holds air for a couple days but are not safe to drive on. There is no carpet in the car, but that does make it easy to see the rust free floor pans. There is some body work needed on the front passenger side quarter panels, but the panel does not need to be replaced, there is also a very thin layer of bondo on the driver's side door that has began to crack. There does not appear to be any other bondo on the car. There are the usual dings and scratched on the body. The seats are in great condition, as are the instrument cluster, there are a couple cracks on the dash pad. There is no frame damage, and the undercoating is still preset on most of the parts on the undercarriage. When the engine was removed no other parts were taken off, so the motor for the headlights and all wiring is still present and appear to be in working order. A little history of This car. It was bought new in Gilroy CA, the original 383 blew up in 1973, the engine and transmission were removed, the car was then parked in a barn until 1983. It was unfortunately out of the DMV's system during this time. It was bought by a mechanic in Lake County CA, The car was given another 383 and 727 combo in 2002, the block then cracked in 2003, the mechanic then removed the engine and transmission and put it in storage. I bought it from the second owner. Please ask any and all questions before bidding (including asking your wife, or girlfriend if you can bid). I can give you pictures of anything you want, just ask. I require a $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction and either a cashier's check or cash when you come to pick up the Charger. You can come look at it if you live in the Sonoma County area and I encourage you to do so. I will under no circumstances ship this car out of America, do not ask, this is an American muscle car and will stay in America. I will be happy to work with shipping companies to ship anywhere in the USA though. This Charger is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Clear title in hand.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education
Mon, May 4 2015The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly. FCA US Dealers to Offer Employees No-Cost, No-Debt College Education FCA US teams with Strayer University to develop first-of-its-kind dealer program Degrees@Work program open to all employees of participating dealerships Employees can earn no-cost, no-debt degree through Strayer University All Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships may participate First phase of program rollout begins with dealers in the FCA US Southeast Business Center National rollout expected later this year May 4, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Employees of Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships will have the unique opportunity to earn a no-cost, no-debt college degree through Strayer University's Degrees@Work program, developed in collaboration with FCA US LLC. FCA US is the only company in the automotive industry to offer the program.
Feds accuse Fiat Chrysler, UAW of conspiring to break labor laws
Wed, Jun 13 2018DETROIT — Top officials of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the United Auto Workers union conspired to violate U.S. labor laws, federal prosecutors alleged in a court document, saying a former executive at the automaker knew bribes paid to union leaders were designed to "grease the skids" in labor negotiations. U.S. Justice Department officials for the first time called the company and the union "co-conspirators" in a document related to a guilty plea agreed by former Fiat Chrysler director of employee relations Michael Brown. The document was filed with the U.S. District Court in Detroit on May 25. Its contents were reported by the Detroit News on Wednesday. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of concealing a felony. The plea agreement stated that he knew Fiat Chrysler executives authorized $1.5 million in improper payments and travel, liquor, cigars and other goods for UAW officials who served on the union's negotiating committee. Prosecutors say FCA executives paid UAW representatives to influence union business. including collective bargaining on contracts ratified in 2011 and 2015. The government contends money was run through the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center, via false charitable donations and training center credit cards. Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne has said in the past that the misconduct "had nothing whatsoever to do with the collective bargaining process" and the "egregious acts were neither known to nor sanctioned" by the company. Fiat Chrysler had no further comment Monday. Outgoing UAW President Dennis Williams told union leaders at a conference in Detroit on Monday "our leadership team had no knowledge of the misconduct — which involved former union members and former auto executives — until it was brought to our attention by the government." Brown pleaded guilty on May 25, according to court documents, and will be sentenced on Sept. 20. Five other people have pleaded guilty in the government's ongoing investigation into the UAW and Fiat Chrysler, including the wife of a late UAW official, two other former UAW employees, former Fiat Chrysler vice president Alphons Iacobelli and another former Fiat Chrysler employee. 2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
