1971 Dodge Charger R/t 440 Auto on 2040-cars
Redmond, Washington, United States
This is one very clean 71 charger r/t. This car has fender tag, build sheet with the car. It is a 440 auto with power windows, AC and hideaway headlights. The car runs great with the original numbers engine that has been professionally rebuilt. Body is in really good shape and straight. Few small dings, paint is nice and looks good. All original metal, pass back quarter had a small dent but was repaired. No real rust at all, underside is clean and has some surface rust on springs and brakes. New gas tank was installed. This is a very solid car, that really needs nothing. Front suspension has all new rubber up front, disk brakes, and is sporting some old school American Racing coke bottle rims that look great on it. This car is complete and ready to drive and have fun. 3rd gen charger r/t's are hard to find and this one is priced to sell. The underside is clean still has undercoating, floors, trunk all solid. You would be hard pressed to find an r/t in this great of shape as complete as this one for the price of my reserve. I have all emblems and stripe kit for the car (even though it was a stripe delete car). Original carb needs to be rebuilt, but has an Eddy on top now. Some info from the build sheet. Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.
Dodge shows can-do attitude with grand Can'avan sculpture
Fri, 01 Nov 2013There are lots of ways to celebrate an important birthday, and all of them are well deserved. You can throw a big party, buy yourself something nice, or - if you're the altruistic type - do something for others in need. The latter is how Chrysler has opted to mark the 30th anniversary of its Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country.
Together with hunger-advocacy organization Canstruction, the Chrysler Foundation has built a full-scale replica of the Grand Caravan out of 30,000 food cans in the square at the corner of Yonge and Dundas in Toronto, a ways down the highway from where the real vans are built in Windsor. The sculpture was built over the course of 10 hours by 30 volunteers and was displayed earlier this week.
Now the installation is being taken down, and the cans of food are being donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank, which will assemble them into 2,000 food baskets to be distributed to those in need through its network of 200 food banks across the Canadian metropolis. Check out a neat time-lapse video of the build and the press release below.
