This is a real 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 (U Code), automatic (727) barn find car.
Factory Rallye red (FE5) with black vinyl interior, black vinyl roof and factory stripe(s) delete...super cool color combo on the last of the great Chargers.
Magnum 500 wheels, 8.75 rear (non SureGrip), console floor shift, buckets, tic toc tac, 150 speedo dash.
This car is 100% original & all #'s matching (Dash vin, door sticker, body vin stamps, motor vin, tranny vin, fender tag & super clean build sheet....even copy of original owner's title - it's all there!)
1 of 7,131 R/T 440-4 automatic cars built - while the #'s for FE5 cars is not clear, the fact is very few of them probably aren't left unmolested these days.
The car is wearing all it's original body panels, interior & drive train. The interior is still good driver condition except the driver's seat has some rips & console is cracked in back.
This car has had some recent work done to it in preparation for a light resto that didn't happen:
New distributor
New fuel tank & straps
New battery
New brakes & master cylinder
Cleaned up carb & the car now runs & drives great after sitting for 25 years~.....no oil dripping OR smoking :)
However, the car isn't mint & definitely needs attention:
Rear quarter panels have rust
Rear floor pans have some rust
Rear valence is rusty
Sail panel has some rust around back window
Trunk gutters have rust
Front floors have some rust - patching at the least (possibly new pans?)
The worst parts of the car are the front drivers side frame rail (old battery leaked from sitting down onto the rail & it's very soft all the way back to the drivers floor board) AND the trunk pan - it's basically gone.
This car can either be a full blown tear down resto trailer queen OR repair as you go driver (assuming you fix the rail 1st at the very least)
But it definitely runs & drives fine now.
This car is stored in GA & it's a non-title state meaning the car is registered & will be sold with a bill of sale + current GA registration from seller. If you're a title state - this paperwork will get you one in your state.
Copy of original owner title, build sheet & fender tag are included.
The build sheet calls for this car as an EXPORT (likely ordered out of the states by military).
Own a super cool Mopar Muscle car that is factory correct from the air cleaner to rims!
Reserve is set & won't be disclosed...if you want to make a strong offer (be serious & make one) otherwise once the bidding/reserve is met -- this car will be selling here until the auction ENDS. Good luck & if you need anymore information - ask.
Local bidders are welcome to see the car.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
Dodge Challenger Hellcat valet mode angers parking attendant
Thu, Mar 10 2016I spent over three years as a valet. It was good money and an excellent second job when I was getting my start as a writer – ten hours per week at the small restaurant I worked for was good for anywhere from $150 to $250. Over those years, I can say with absolute confidence I never goofed off in someone's car. Unfortunately, not all valets are so trustworthy. Like these idiots. Apparently, a Dodge Challenger Hellcat owner captured the valets at Universal Studios in Florida on his dashcam messing about behind the wheel of his 707-horsepower muscle car. One valet is behind the wheel and there's another riding shotgun as they aimlessly wander about the parking lot, lamenting the fact that the owner (wisely) engaged valet mode before handing over the keys. "We can't do anything," they whine. The owner, for his part, seemed pretty cool about the whole thing, writing in the YouTube description that he purposely kicked up the exposure at the end of the video to hide the identities of the valets. He also added that they didn't do anything wrong – this former valet agrees to disagree, based on the over four minutes it takes to actually park the car – and that he was thankful for valet mode. You can check out the video above – be warned, though, there is some language in it. And remember, if you valet your car, use valet mode, check the odometer when you drop off and pick up, and if everything checks out, give the poor guys a tip. Want more recent Hellcat news? Dodge Viper might not live past 2017
Wed, Oct 14 2015The Dodge Viper might be running out of venom because the muscle-bound sports car could be on the road to being cancelled in just a few years. According to Allpar, the proposed deal between the United Auto Workers and FCA US would close the Connor Avenue Assembly plant, which produces the Viper, in 2017. The proposed union contract doesn't give a reason for closing the factory, but the decision is understandable if frustrating. The plant was idled twice last year to reduce production of the Viper to match flagging demand. A $15,000 price cut for the coupe eventually allowed for a sales surge, but that appetite hasn't continued in 2015. From January through September of this year, the company has only moved 503 of the sports cars, down eight percent. To further spur demand, Dodge has employed a few other tactics like the 1 of 1 program for buyers to personalize their Vipers, and the introduction of the brutally track-focused ACR. In a world where high-end sports cars are continuing to get friendlier for both their drivers and the environment, the Viper remains a holdout with a big, naturally aspirated V10. Even with the addition of some electronic aids on the latest Vipers, the snake still demands respect from those behind the wheel. Respect is fine, but sales are what matter to FCA – and the harsh reality is that a lack thereof might force the Viper into retirement, whether we like it or not.
