This auction is for my 1970 Charger 500 SE - 1 of 2887 built and 1 of 963 painter Cream - Y3.  I purchased it in 1999, fully intending to restore it,  I had barely gotten started when I started having some health problems. Unfortunately, those4 problems also caused financial issues.  As much as I hated doing it, I started parting it out just to get by.  I am selling now that the buyer will restore it.  If not, there are still many usable parts or parts for resale.

What makes this Charger, although not complete is that it is basically a matching numbers car.  I was able to find serial numbers on the dashboard VIN plate, the fender plate, the door jam sticker, the radiator support, the trunk stamp under the weather stripping, and also on the engine.  What is not original are a 4 barrel, air cleaner, manifold and heads.  He had also pit a set of Crager mags on the front, so there are only original hubcaps and they are included.  The hubcaps  I put on I believe are 1638.  The drivers side fender must have been dined as it paint does not match.  In addition to the matching numbers, I also have and almost complete window sticker, 2 build sheets, the drivers manual and the original warranty card.  I bought the car from the second owner, but he new the original purchaser.  The car had not been started for quite a while before I bought it and I have not started it either.  The car does have some issues.  I parted out basically most of the interior, the front bumper, grill and valance, the radiator, the rear bumper, tail lights and finish panel.  Having been parked outside, there is some rust.  The rear frame rails, the torsion bar cross member, the front floor pans, the trunk panels, the lower rear quarter panels and the rear valance will need to be replaced or repaired. The fenders are OK with the exception of the usual spot behind the Penstar emblem, just a bit on the lower edge of the doors and rocker panels. underside of the hood and the lip of the trunk and under the vinyl top,  This is about average for a northern car. The wiring harness will need to be repaired as the previous owner had added two speakers under the dash and a trailer hitch.

The car has straight sides and does include all the chrome (very minor swirling) and minor pitting on the quarter windows and mirror.  In addition, the glass is very good with only minor scratching on the back window and on the drivers window from rolling it up and down.  Included will be a number of original parts:

The original air cleaner (do not have the carb, manifold etc)

Fan, spacer and pulley

hood support/latch, fender supports and splash shields

the horns

headlight buckets, trim and hardware and lights (not T3)

wash bottle (not the best condition)battery box and strap

gas cap and trim ring (some pitting)

front turn signals/parking lights

side marker lights (one red lens missing and some pitting)

2 original deep dish hub caps

spare tire

interior trim

heater control

interior door handles and window cranks

gas and brake pedals with custom trim

dome light

dash speedometer and instrument cluster - no clock  (unfortunately I broke one of the pins on the module.  It is but I don't know if it can be repaired).  All switches (headlights, windshield wipers etc.) are still in the car.

I even have a 1970 and 1978 Michigan license plates that I will throw in.

Although I do have offers locally, they would just use the Charger for parts.  Considering the matching number and documentation, I would hope that the new owner would restore it and give to it what I couldn't.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR racks up lap records

Thu, Nov 5 2015

With 645 horsepower and an adjustable spoiler nearly six feet wide, the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR would look at home on the runways of most any airport, air base, or aircraft carrier in the world. But it's not built for the runway. It's built for the race track. And it has positively mastered them one after another. In fact, the new Viper ACR has not only beat the lap times of its own predecessor as it set out to, but took the production-car lap record at 13 tracks across the country. The endeavor started out at the Inde Motorsport Ranch in Arizona, where development engineer Chris "The Wolf" Winkler set a lap time of 1:33.75 on the Configuration 4 track to beat every other street-legal vehicle to ever lap the circuit. Then it was off to Buttonwillow, the MotorSport Ranch (in Cresson, TX), Big Willow, VIR, Grattan, Pittsburg, GingerMan, the Motown Mile, Nelson Ledges, Waterford Hills, and Road Atlanta. And with the new American Club Racer, Dodge took the lap record at each and every one. The journey culminated just days ago at Laguna Seca, where track expert Randy Pobst climbed into the Viper ACR and set a lap time of 1:28.65. That's 5.27 seconds faster than the previous ACR's time, and 1.24 seconds faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder that held the record until now. The sum total is a bragging-rights sheet of lap records set at 13 tracks across these United States. And you don't have to take Dodge's word on that. The records have been certified by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), cementing the ACR's place in the record books. Nice work if you can get it, and you can scope it out in the video above and press release below. Dodge celebrates big B-day with 100th Anniversary Editions muscle cars

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Being in business for 100 years is a HUGE milestone, so we hope Dodge has more in mind to celebrate its centennial than just a special edition package for the 2014 Charger and Challenger. Called the 100th Anniversary Edition package, this collection of cosmetic enhancements will be available in limited quantities for both cars at a cost of $2,500.
Ordering a Charger or Challenger with the 100th Anniversary Edition package means starting with either a V6-powered SXT Plus or V8-powered R/T Plus model. They can each be ordered in many colors, but only the High-Octane Red Pearl Coat above is an anniversary exclusive. Each car also comes with an anniversary-exclusive set of 20-inch, five-spoke wheels with what Dodge calls "Granite Crystal pockets," a texture that's also mirrored on each car's grille.
Of course, there are commemorative badges galore affixed to the exterior of each car, including "Dodge Est. 1914" fender badges and "100" logos on the center caps of each wheel. The styling theme of each car's interior is a bit more interesting, with Dodge designers trying to evoke "the patina and machinist legacy of John and Horace Dodge," the company's founders. To that end, the leather interior can be had in Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa, and each features a custom cloud overprint that makes the hide look like a working man's dirty dungarees. Designers also used brass-colored accent stitching on the interior's leather trim pieces, and affixed more "Dodge Est. 1914" badges to the front seat backs and floor mats. We do like the flat-bottomed steering wheel, and the Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition gets exclusive white gauges faces and the Charger black. The "100" on each car's speedometer is also highlighted in red.
