1969 Dodge Charger R/t Se Factoy 4 Speed Professionally Restored Roller Plus on 2040-cars
Statham, Georgia, United States
Professional rotisserie restored....1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE original 440 A-833 Four Speed painted rolling shell....matching numbers body. This is an original southern car that had very little rust when the restoration was started. The fenders and quarters did have significant dents. There was NO rust to the floor, frame, roof, firewall, inner fenders....this car even has the original trunk floor. The shell was completely disassembled, quarters and tail light panel removed and then mounted on a rotisserie....then steam blasted. It was then thoroughly media blasted to remove all rust. The original undercoating was left intact because it was in such good shape....it is a "full undercoat" car. Numerous coats of epoxy primer were applied and injected into the frame rails and other areas inaccessible with a spray gun.
I am a Auto Metal Direct distributor and have assisted with the development of many of their parts. So, it only made sense to use their parts in this build. New AMD quarters, tail light panel, lower valance, fenders, hood, deck lid and front valance were installed. Door hinges were rebuilt. Countless hours were spent on panel alignment and panel finishing. The car was painted with the doors, hood and deck lid removed. The underside of the hood and trunk lid, door jambs, engine compartment and trunk were meticulously finished before painting. Several coats of PPG DBC R4 Charger red were applied and topcoated with PPG Concept clear. The body has been sanded in three steps to 3000 Abralon and is ready to buff. Included with the car is the original grille assembly in excellent condition....a couple of very minor cracks. The original K member and control arms have been powder coated and are ready to install. It will come with most of the interior and exterior trim and dash parts....the cluster is a non- tic toc. The original bumpers and brackets are included. Also included is extra quarter glass and left door. Oh, there is also over $500 in new seals. This project will NEED a complete drive train.....engine, transmission, manifolds, Dana etc. It will also need a windshield bucket seats, console and shifter. The car will come with a bill of sale and Georgia DMV tag receipt which is transferable to any state in the USA or I can get a Florida title if needed. It will also come with a new fender tag reproduced exactly as the original. Remember, I am an AMD parts distributor ....I will offer the buyer of this car any parts they need that I carry at my cost. If you are looking for one hell of a nice Charger at a reasonable price ....you need to call me....serious inquiries ONLY...PLEASE check my feedback.... I don't sell junk and I don't waste peoples time....you will not be disappointed, thanx. Kurt (706) 296-3615 |

Highway To Hellcat: Dallas to Vegas with 2,000 HP
Thu, Jan 15 2015Fort Davis, TX. Early November. Late Sunday afternoon. The 1,200 residents of this small town are using their day of rest to quietly enjoy the breeze rolling off the hills. There's an older couple walking down the street, holding hands. A young lady working at a general store, where milkshakes and antacids are purchased at the same counter. It's a peaceful, quaint scene, right down to the tumbleweed rolling across the street and the rickety wooden porches outside the old storefronts. I hit the throttle of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat while turning left onto the road leading toward the town square, sending the sedan's rear end swinging to the right with a few puffs of rubbery smoke. I coast down to the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit and spot the line of Challengers, Chargers, and Vipers in my rear-view mirror, the drivers all mimicking my quick jolt of enthusiasm before pulling up the reigns on their V8s and V10s and idling into Fort Davis. Our posse would roll some 5,000 horsepower of pure American muscle into that small Texas town that day. It was only the first stop on an epic journey that would take us from Dallas to Las Vegas, on a winding route down toward El Paso, up through New Mexico, Arizona, and finally north into Nevada, ending at the ritzy Palazzo casino and hotel on the Vegas strip. It was an opportunity to see parts of America I never knew existed, and a chance to bond with some American cars that until recently, I sort of failed to understand. And most importantly it was an opportunity to drive really, really hard. Charging Through Texas Unless you've driven across it, it's hard to understand the massive space that is Texas. In places, scanning 360 degrees of horizon reveals absolutely nothing. Nothing. On its own, driving from Dallas to El Paso covers some 630 miles. Veer south to Fort Davis and you'll add another 70 onto that, not including the 75-mile Davis Mountain Scenic Loop where I found bliss behind the wheel of this insanely powerful sedan. I always expected to like the Charger Hellcat – comfortable seating for four (five in a pinch), equipped with the latest tech, wrapped in a stylish yet muscular body, like a quarterback in a tux. And it moves. The supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 pumps out 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which makes for one quick sedan, especially considering its heft.
Chrysler recalling 280k Dodge Ram 1500 pickups over axle seizures
Fri, Dec 19 2014Following a June investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be recalling 280,000 Dodge Ram pickups from model year 2005. The issue, NHTSA told The Detroit News, centered on a loose pinion nut, which could cause the rear axle to seize and, potentially, the driveshaft to detach. The affected vehicles were built between January of 2004 and August of 2005, while of the 280,000 trucks, only 257,000 were sold in the US market. According to The News, the recall will begin on February 13, and will see owners report to dealerships to have "a retention feature" added to the pinion nut.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat ringtone revs up [w/video]
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The best (or worst, depending on your views) thing about smartphones is that you're able to carry lots, and lots of useful stuff around in your pocket. That means you can always have a phone, messaging service, email, flashlight, calculator, dictionary, encyclopedia, and literally thousands of other things on your person at all times. Now, we can add one more thing for you to carry about in your little slab of aluminum, glass and plastic - a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Now, you obviously can't carry around a 707-horsepower muscle car around in your pocket. That'd be ridiculous, impractical and uncomfortable. You can, however, carry around the noise made by said muscle car's 6.2-liter, supercharged Hemi V8, thanks to a new, free-to-download ringtone from the folks at Dodge and SRT.
We can't embed the ringtone here, so if you'd like to hear exactly how it'll sound when your phone goes off, you'll need to head over to the SRT Hellcat's page. If that's more trouble than it's worth, the same ringtone was attached to a tiny speaker on the press kit for the mighty Challenger, and was captured on video by our own Seyth Miersma (don't worry, he's already been soundly dressed down for shooting a video in portrait mode).
