Up for sale is a numbers matching, 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, 440 4-speed Dana 60. This car sold new in Evansville Indiana at Vandeveer Dodge. It was driven a mere 24,000 miles before being parked in 1974. Known collector & reproduction parts vendor Ron Fellwock purchased the car from the original owner in the 70’s and never drove it because the transmission wouldn’t go into gear. It was parked outside next to many others Ron had purchased, mainly for parts research. In 1988, it was purchased by another Evansville resident, pulled out of the field, and parked inside where it again sat for many years. A two year thorough restoration was completed in 2013 by Jacobs Restoration. Since the restoration, it has been driven several hundred miles to local shows and weekend cruises. The following summary details the restoration.
BODY:
One disassembled, the entire underbody & body was stripped to bare metal. The rear quarters, trunk floor, trunk extensions, rear valance and valance corners were replaced. One quarter is NOS. Frame connectors were installed for the high torque of the 440 engine. The entire car was coated in DuPont epoxy primer, then DuPont base/clear was sprayed in the original F3 green by Troy Angelly Restorations. The base was tinted to an original un-exposed panel for a perfect match to what this car originally was. The floor pans were re-undercoated as they were originally.
ENGINE:
The original matching numbers engine had never been exposed to weather and still had antifreeze and oil in it when pulled and freely turned over. After complete disassembly, all parts were hot tanked, magnafluxed and inspected. The block was bored .030”, honed, square decked, main honed and new distributor bushing, plugs and cam bearings installed. Crank was turned 10/10. Rods were resized with new ARP bolts installed. Sealed Power pistons, rings & bearings were installed after a complete balancing job. New Melling oil pickup and pump installed, factory windage tray and 402 pan. The cylinder heads were treated to new exhaust valves, guides, Comp Cams springs & retainers and 3 angle valve job. A Comp Cam, lifters and pushrods and Fel Pro gasket set complete the long block. A new aluminum water pump installed as well as Mopar Performance ignition system and Edelbrock carb and Carter fuel pump. Black Taylor plug wires, rebuilt alternator & starter original exhaust manifolds. The engine was then painted in the correct 69 440 orange.
TRANS:
The original trans that wouldn’t go into gear ended up being because of a severly cracked bellhousing. A correct part numbered bellhousing was located & installed. The original trans was completely stripped and the case de-rusted. New Brewers bearings, sycronizers, bushings and gaskets were installed. The original shifter mechanism and linkage were restored in black phosphate. A new Borg & Beck pressure plate, clutch and throwout bearing, boot and clutch linkage hardware were installed.

New bearings/seals were also installed on the axles. Timken bearings and National seals were used throughout. FRONT SUSPENSION:

Dodge Scat Pack for 5.7L Hemi V8 detailed, priced

Sat, 05 Apr 2014

Dodge revived the Scat Pack name back in November at the 2013 SEMA show. At the time, though, we were short of details on forthcoming upgrade packages, which were destined to add some oomph to the Challenger, Charger and Dart. We're still waiting to hear about the upgrades to the Dart's 2.4-liter four-pot, but Dodge has gone ahead and released the details on the upgrades to the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 in the Challenger and Charger R/T.
As we detailed in our original post, three different Scat Packs will be available that will allow customers to upgrade their cars without voiding the warranties. Starting with the $2,195 Stage 1 kit, owners will net an extra 18 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque thanks to a Mopar-branded cold-air intake, exhaust and ECU ref lash. Stage 1 is also the only package that could be installed outside of a Chrysler-authorized service center without voiding the warranty (a mechanically competent owner could even do it at home, we're told by Dodge). Stage 2 builds on the entry level Scat Pack, and adds performance camshaft kit, which boosts output over the stock 5.7 by up to 30 hp for $1,895. As with the Stage 1, the ECU is tweaked.
For those that want to go whole hog, they can add the Stage 3 for $4,995. The top-tier gets quite serious, adding CNC-ported cylinder heads, as well as high-flow headers and cats. Output over stock is 58 hp and 47 lb-ft of torque. Each kit comes with a pair of badges, just in case owners want a bit of visual flair.
