This unbelievable show car is a true working piece of art.  Incredible attention to detail and workmanship shows throughout!  This was the personal car of  well known custom builder Carl L. Hagen  "The Mopar Magician".  It was completely disassembled and built piece by piece from the frame up over years as spare time allowed.  Since it was the builder's personal car, there was never any pressure to get it finished or shave time and cost Anywhere.  Looking over and under the car it is very obvious that this was a labor of love!  It was designed and built to not only be fast, but primarily be a street-able show car.  The motor was designed to run on pump gas and all of the lights work.  The seats are original and have front and rear seat belts.  The original dash engine gauges are still used and all of the interior and console lights work, including the shift indicator!  The hood is also an incredible work of art and engineering!  It is completely hands free from unlock, open, close, lock, and was built from the original steel hood!  The doors are shaved and open by remote as well! (they also have a manual bypass). The multi-function key ring remote controls both doors individually, the unlocking, raising and lowering of the hood, the alarm, and the stereo (AM/FM cassette with amplifier). Another of the real attention grabbers by people that know cars are the wheels.  They are custom made from stock wheels and like the rest of the car are truly a work of art. Carl  custom built the wheels to precisely tuck the fattest tires possible under the fenders. The underside of the car is detailed as well and looks incredible.  The engine only has 600 miles total on it and the whole car has less than 2000 miles since completion and needs nothing.  This is a world class show quality car and needs nothing to drive, enjoy and compete at any show!  Please look closely to all of the hi-res pictures to truly appreciate the craftsmanship, time, and money invested to create this beautiful car.  The builder has stated that he could not rebuild this car for under 70,000.  Every year a local dodge dealer would ask that this car be brought in for a special once a year sale for a draw. This car will come with calendars and a couple magazines which it has been featured in throughout the years. A Truly Once In a Lifetime Car!

Small 3-row crossover SUVs specifications compared on paper

Thu, May 10 2018

There's no shortage of three-row vehicles on the market for carrying seven or more people and their stuff wherever they all need to go. Just about every car company has at least one large crossover or traditional SUV with three rows of seats, and there are still plenty of minivans to pick from. But most of these vehicles are large, pricey, and frequently thirsty. Fortunately, there are still a handful of smaller crossovers that deliver 7-passenger capability in a smaller, cheaper package. We've gathered four of the small three-row set here to compare them based on space, power, fuel economy, pricing, and more. They include the very old Dodge Journey, the slightly less old Mitsubishi Outlander and Kia Sorento, and the relatively new Volkswagen Tiguan. You can see the raw numbers in the chart below, followed by a more detailed breakdown and some notes on how we like each of these vehicles. For in-depth opinions on the vehicles, be sure to check out our full reviews, and if you want to compare these with other vehicles, try out our comparison tools. Engines, transmissions and performance Interestingly, three of the four crossovers here utilize similar engines for their four-cylinder offerings. The Dodge, Kia and Mitsubishi all feature naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Only the Volkswagen Tiguan chooses turbocharging and a smaller 2.0-liter displacement. But because of its turbocharger, the Tiguan's four-cylinder is easily the most potent, making a healthy 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more than 40 more than the Sorento, the crossover with the next most torque. The VW is also second-most powerful, just one horse behind the Sorento. The Outlander is the least powerful in the four-cylinder class. The Journey is only barely better, but it will probably feel as slow or worse thanks to its ancient 4-speed automatic. The four-cylinder Sorento and Outlander each have 6-speed automatic transmissions, and the VW has an 8-speed. The Sorento with a V6 has an 8-speed, too. View 17 Photos Moving up to the V6 class, the Outlander is once again at the bottom. It actually makes less torque than the turbo VW Tiguan. The Journey and Sorento are almost perfectly matched. The Journey makes a bit more torque; the Sorento makes a bit more power. The Journey also gets upgraded to a 6-speed automatic. Another powertrain consideration to bare in mind is whether all-wheel-drive is necessary.

Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?

Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.
