1968 Dodge Charger 383 Hp Auto Project Mopar 68 69 70 Dukes Hazzard Bullitt Rt on 2040-cars
Jackson, Mississippi, United States
Up for auction a great project 1968 Dodge Charger. The car started life with a 383 HP big block and an automatic 727 transmission on the floor. This car was ordered new in an odd format. The car was originally gold with gold interior and a white vinyl top. It has factory A/C, but what I found odd is that it was ordered with a tic-toc-tac but is an automatic car. Most automatic cars that I have owned did not have the tach and would only have a clock. The car also came with a 3.23 Sure-Grip 8 3/4 rearend. So I guess the original owner wanted a pretty decent muscle car, but didn't want the additional cost of an R/T model. Either way, It was an unusual, but very nice car back in the day.
The car is solid, for the most part, with typical Charger/B-body rust in the rear. The frame rails are solid with typical wear and tear from floor jacks, curbs, etc., but I could not see any rust issues on the rails. At some point in the car's past it was wrecked on the driver side. The exterior sheet metal was replaced but you can still see signs of damage in the left front wheel well and the left rear outer wheelhouse. Besides the left fender and quarter, the door was replaced too and it opens and shuts just fine. The car was repaired like most body shops did back in the day; they did an exterior cosmetic repair and didn't bother with the rest. The car has a nice woodgrain steering wheel and I did not notice any cracks. The interior was dyed/painted red. The carpet material was glued to the floors so I am not able to peel it back without ripping it to pieces. The floors (interior & trunk) were patched at some point and they hold up fine, but should be replaced if you plan to build the car to "show quality" standards. All in all, they car would be a great start for someone who has been looking for a Charger, but do not want to spend $10k for a project. I originally purchased the car with the intensions of doing a cheap low-buck Charger build. Kind of like the guys did on the show "Roadkill" (Youtube it... it's quite interesting). I have too many other Mopar projects and decided to sell it so that maybe someone else can enjoy it. The car shows 60,568 miles. I am not sure if that is the original mileage or is it has rolled over. The car has been off the road for many years, so it could possibly be accurate. The car does not have and engine or transmission. A few other missing parts that I can think of are the passenger bucket seat, grille assembly, rear seat, rear glass, driver side quarter glass, front and rear bumpers, radio, and misc trim. What you see in the pictures, is what will go with the car. I do not have a title for the car but I do have two Bill of Sales from the previous owners. After the sell, I will assist in getting a title for the car if you are interested. Here in MS, I can apply for a title with at least two BOS. The car DOES have it's original fender tag and it decodes as followed: For MANY additional pictures of this car, I have have set up a photo album at: http://s6.photobucket.com/user/CornDog05/library/1968%20Dodge%20Charger%20RED

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?
Sun, Jul 9 2023The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric. Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands. If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla. Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor. Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have: Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat's 707 storming horses can be yours for $60k
Wed, 16 Jul 2014We love a good deal on high performance. It's what traditionally makes muscle cars so appealing - you get lots of speed, for not a lot of money. For 2015, Dodge has taken this to its logical extreme, offering its new 707-horsepower, supercharged, V8-powered Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat for just $59,900. For those wondering, that works out to just about $85 per horsepower, which when compared with a typical budget performance car, like the $24,995, 210-hp Volkswagen GTI ($119 per hp), demonstrates the Hellcat's astonishing value.
The information was revealed by a photo (click on the inset image to expand) taken at this week's Portland launch event (our man Seyth Miersma is just now on the ground and will have a full report on the madness that is the Hellcat soon) for the entire 2015 Challenger range, and reveals the Hellcat's price alongside its high-powered competitors from Ford and Chevrolet.
The discontinued 662-hp Mustang GT500 started at $56,000, while the 580-hp Camaro ZL1 starts off at $58K. Indeed, the only muscle car that outprices the Hellcat is the track-focused Camaro Z/28, a car that we're guessing could still wallop the Hellcat on the right piece of track, despite being down over 200 hp.
Recharge Wrap-up: LA Auto Show may feature updated Cadillac ELR, Uber expands Chicago HQ
Tue, Sep 30 2014A Kentucky man has converted his 1939 Dodge pickup to an electric vehicle. Al Gajda of Lexington built the electric truck, which he now uses as his daily driver. "I take advantage of any excuse to drive it; just banging around town, errands, short runs on the interstate, delivering my granddaughter to school in the morning," he says. It is powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery, which is mounted in a wooden box on the truck bed, and gets about 100 miles per charge. Read more at the Lexington Herald-Leader. Elon Musk will speak at the Automotive News World Congress in January. The Tesla CEO is a featured speaker for the program, "Setting the Pace in a Thriving Market." Production of the Toyota Rav4 EV has ended. The shipment of the final Toyota EVs concludes Toyota's deal to source batteries from Tesla. Of the 2,600 Rav4 EVs to be produced, there are probably just a few hundred left to be sold, most of which are likely to be gone by the end of October. Read more at Inside EVs. Cadillac will likely show an improved version of the ELR at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The 2016 ELR will include unspecified "engineering enhancements," according to Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell. There will be no 2015 model, as the 2014 model will be sold until the 2016 ELR goes on sale in the first half 2015. Read more at Edmunds.
