1968 Dodge Charger 318 + 727 - All Original - Restorable - Green W/ Vinyl Top on 2040-cars
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Up for bids is a 1968 Dodge Charger with 318 Engine and 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission + some extras. The car is not running but is all original and is restorable. The new owner will need to have it towed to its new home. Transport / shipping is not included as part of the auction and is the buyer's responsibility. A down-payment of 1,000.00 via paypal is due within 24 hours of auction close and full payment is due within 7 days of auction close. The car must be picked up/moved within 14 days of auction close. If you're local to Charlotte, NC and want to see the car just let me know. I am not interested in trades, etc. This is a no-reserve auction and I'm starting it at a reasonable price. I am the 4th owner of this car, I bought it to restore about 7 years ago and have not made any progress due to other projects.Since I've owned the car, it has been in inside storage. Prior to that it sat outside for a while, I don't know how long. The odometer reads 44,918 miles, I believe there are 144,918 miles on the car. There is rust in the floor pans and the trunk pan and lip as well as the engine compartment and lip and a little in the doors and fenders. There are a few dents and dings as you can see in the pictures but nothing too bad. I've tried to show the major rust areas in the pictures so you can see what the condition is. The car is equipped with A/C and power steering. Everything else is manual including brakes, windows, locks, seats, etc. The engine will not start, the starter clicked when I attempted to start it two weeks ago. The engine did turn when I bought the car. Engine, brakes and transmission need to be rebuilt. The car originally had a dark green vinyl top that was removed by the prior owner to prevent the roof from getting too rusty. I have a spare left rear quarter that I'd like to include as part of this sale as well as a 727 transmission rebuild kit and shop manual, and a spare set of wheels and the original hubcaps that came with the car. These should be of help in the restoration process. I also have the original owner's manual and Dodge certicard that was issued to the owner upon purchase along with various paperwork for repairs over the years. If you have questions about the condition of the car or want more details that I've left out, please ask. |

Real-life Bravado Banshee from Grand Theft Auto up for sale
Sun, 01 Jun 2014Remember the Bravado Banshee that West Coast Customs built last year to promote Grand Theft Auto V? Given away by GameStop, the woman who won it says she's better off with money to send her two kids to college than with a race car, so now you can steal buy it on eBay.
Based on a 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10, every exterior panel was redesigned to match the Banshee, and the red embroidered badging inside won't let you forget it. There's still that V10 up front that can make some kind of racket, and a SEMA-worthy stereo filling the entire trunk to make a different kind of racket. Oh, it's also got hood struts that have crapped out, so you'll notice the hood is held up with a wooden rod.
The auction ends on June 5, and you can make an offer or hit the Buy It Now button and hand over $170,000. Might be time to change the outfit and run a few jobs for some quick cash.
Dodge Charger Pursuit takes Tesla interior approach
Fri, Sep 11 2015A police car's computer is just as integral to its duties as a set of lights and sirens. The popular approach for these systems is to grab something like a Panasonic Toughbook laptop, add a big, bulky tray to hold it, and use this inelegant setup for running plates and doing all the other things a cop needs to do while on the road. The downside, besides simple aesthetics, is that this arrangement robs the officer's shotgun-riding partner from legroom. Dodge, though, has come up with a far more elegant and functional solution. Taking a page out of Tesla and Volvo's book, Dodge has replaced the five-inch UConnect display and laptop mount in the Charger Pursuit police car with an enormous 12.1-inch, portrait-format touchscreen display. Called, UConnect 12.1, the new system doesn't do away with the old fashioned computer outright. Instead it moves the bulky unit to the trunk, where it can connect to the display via an ethernet cable. This is good for multiple reasons. First, there are no pricey installation or upfitting charges, like there are for most laptop carriages. Secondly, the plug-and-play nature of the new UConnect system won't require the department to buy new laptops. And third, there's no need to retrain officers, since the only thing that's really changing is the input. While the Charger Pursuit will continue to offer redundant audio and HVAC controls, the 12.1-inch display can, at the press of a "button" split to display Fiat Chrysler's familiar 8.4-inch display. Make one more tap on the screen, and the police-issue laptop can be managed through the full touchscreen. The touchscreen will also display a menu bar at the top of the page, which can easily be edited by officers. All it takes is a simple drag and drop from the application menu to the top of the display. According to Dodge, the touchscreen will even play nice when its operator is wearing gloves. "As America's high-performance police vehicle, Dodge Charger Pursuit is going big for 2016, offering a massive, Uconnect touchscreen system that streamlines a law enforcement officer's computer system with our easy-to-use Uconnect system – on an all-new laptop-sized 12.1-inch touchscreen display," said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge and SRT's president and CEO.
2016 Dodge Viper ACR priced from $117,895
Tue, May 12 2015Fancy getting your hands on the all-new Dodge Viper ACR? Prepare to shell out at least $117,895, not counting destination or gas-guzzler tax. Those two add $1,995 and $2,100, respectively, for an out-the-door price of $121,990. That's $32,900 more than a base 2015 Viper, or the equivalent of a Challenger with a few options. As we explained previously, the ACR model doesn't do much for outright power – the 8.4-liter V10 offers up only five more ponies than before – but it does add suspension and aerodynamic upgrades that make this particular Viper far more potent on the track. The order books are officially open for the ACR, so if you've got the coin, get in touch with your local dealer. Until then, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the ACR's pricing. Would you shell out $118,000 for the ultimate Viper?
