1968 DODGE CHARGER R/T Up for sale is my 1968 charger R/T it is a real XS vin R/T. This car is a factory A/C car but the underhood components were removed long ago. It also has the extremely rare power window option. The car also has just 17,000 actual miles and it has been documented on the title. The car is from Tennesee and was raced and then parked by the original owner when the original block was blown. The trans and rear are original to the best of my knowledge. Another 440 was installed and the car was traded in at a local car lot and was purchased from there by the 2nd owner in 1987 where it sat unmoved in the garage until i purchased it in 2004. The floor pans, frame rails, torsion bar mounts and trunk pan are all solid. The car was restored in 2006 and included paint, new quarters, quarter extensions, rear valence, bumpers, door handles, marker lights, mirror, emblems, vinyl top and tail stripe. The trans rebuild, front suspension bushings, and exhaust with headers and flowmaster mufflers were also done all about 3k miles ago. The car is equipped with the 8 3/4 rear with a fresh sure grip and 3:55 gears. It was also changed to a painless wiring harness as the original fuse block had been damaged. The car has some minor blemishes in the paint due to an older resto and needs some interior work done i have the radio and a few other interior parts to go also. The car is a nice car that i drive to shows and enjoy but with the options and mileage will make an awesome car when completely restored. I hate to sell this car but do not have the time and money to take it to the top level it deserves. The car is for sale locally so i reserve the right to end the auction early. Car comes with no warranty expressed or implied. No bidders with zero feedback please. A $500 non refundable deposit via paypal is required within 24 hours of auction close with remainder due via wire transfer within 72 hours of auction close. Any questions please call JW at (540) 550-6654 or (304) 229-6893 after 5pm. Don't miss your chance to own this rare and desirable B-body this car is definitely priced to sell with a low reserve!!!! Good luck and happy bidding!

FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report
Mon, Jul 25 2016Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News. Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
