I've owned this car since 1994, It's originally a South Carolina car and never seen any winters, there is no rust anywhere. It was originally a 383 4 barrel car which I have put a built 440 in it's place with only about 5,000 miles on the engine since the build. The engine starts with a 71 block and was bored 30 over using plates that simulate the heads being torqued down, stock rods with forged aluminum TRW 6 pack pistons with valve reliefs, and a forged crank, 1/2" oil pickup tube and drilled block to the oil pump 1/2" 906 heads with oversize manley severe duty 2.14/1.81 stainless steel valves. 3 angle valve job. Crower dual pattern camshaft 292 - 310 duration 537 - 523 lift. 10.20:1 compression ratio. Stock rockers, shafts, pushrods. This engine was professionally built and blueprinted and has a Mopar M1 single plane intake with a Holley 750 double pumper carb equipped with a proform main body that eliminates the choke tower and larger main jets. The oil pan is a Moroso chrome 7 1/2 quart. There is a Be Cool aluminum radiator with an electric fan for engine cooling. The transmission was built at the same time as the engine with racing/street use in mind to compliment the semi radical engine. The transmission was completely rebuilt and has a reverse manual shift valve body and a Mopar deep pan. Then a Turbo Action 10" converter was installed. There is a remote transmission cooler mounted under the radiator to keep it cool. The rear end is an 8 3/4" with a 355 sure grip/posi 489 case. Mopar Super Stock leaf springs with custom built front spring hangers which allowed me to move the axle back 1" for the 28" tires with no clearance issues. I then purchased a Mancini racing driveshaft fully balanced 1" longer than stock to compensate the custom front spring hangers. It also has bolt in Mopar frame connectors and Mopar/MSD 6AL ignition with rev limiter. Holley red electric fuel pump located near the fuel tank which helps feed the Carter mechanical 8 psi pump on the engine. The tires are Mickey Thompson all around sportsman pro rear sportsman fronts. 28x12.5-15 rears on centerline polished auto drag rims 15x10 rear. Jet Coated headers with 3" flowmaster dual exhaust this car really shakes and rumbles the ground you can feel it running in your chest, and very quick. Next a line loc was added to heat the tires for drag strip use. Battery is located in the trunk. The car was professionally and flawlessly painted in 1999 still looks and is flawless this car is perfectly straight no waves or ripples whatsoever and very deep paint. The color is Porsche Red. Both bumpers have been re Chromed and the trunk lid chrome has been replaced along with the quarter end pieces and front fender ends which include the signals. All rubber pieces, door gaskets and window felts were replaced. The place that painted it is the best in the area and is known for their perfect paint jobs. They were the former Custom Body Shop here in Utica, N.Y. now it's named CARS Collision. They are also Mopar fanatics. The seats I've changed to race style in front, and re carpeted the interior and installed a custom instrument panel with all AutoMeter gauges throughout. Also added a CD player and removed the heater box and dash ducts for weight savings, also because I never use or planned to use the car in any inclement weather. This car has never seen rain since the paint job was done in 1999. I do still have the heater box and clove compartment liner saved in case I ever wanted to put it back in. I made the aluminum panel attached to the firewall to hide the heater motor hole along with the ac/heater hoses holes. This car was equipped with ac originally, and I saved the condenser along with the lines. This car was also a vinyl top car originally which the body shop welded the holes where the moldings go during the paint job, I like this style charger without the vinyl tops, my opinion. This car runs perfectly and is turn key, you get in & go. Ive set this car up for pro street type of use, you can go to the drag strip or just cruise the streets, it offers a great ride. I'm only selling due to having lost interest in the hobby and can use the money in other ways. This car looks so nice it could win best paint at a show because the paint is phenomenal, along with the sound it really gets alot of attention. I can email more pics by request. I may consider a few trades and must be in mint condition Kawasaki ZX14, Kawasaki Concours 14, Harley streetglides, or a Boss Hoss partial trade, not interested in any restored classics, rather have newer models.

Dodge adds fire-breathing Durango SRT for 2018
Tue, Feb 7 2017The playbook for Dodge right now is pretty simple. Wring as much power out of as many things as humanly possible. Now comes the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT. Packing 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, this seven-seat school bus will scoot to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds. Since the latest Durango launched for 2014, Dodge has unabashedly called it a three-row Charger. This beefy SUV makes that aggressive claim even more legit. "It does all the things we want a performance car to do," says Mark Trostle, head of performance, passenger, and utility vehicle exterior design. "It really is our three-row Charger." The 6.4-liter (392 cubic inches) Hemi V8 is considerably stronger than the already-potent 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which is rated at 360 hp and 390 lb-ft in the most powerful Durango available now. The SRT powertrain includes the TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic transmission used in the lesser Durango models (and many other FCA US vehicles), though it's calibrated specifically to the sportier demeanor of the SRT model. A similarly retuned full-time all-wheel-drive system rounds out the powertrain. Despite the fact this is a hot-rod SUV, it can still tow 8,600 pounds with a trailer, 1,200 pounds more than the most capable 2017 Durango (the rear-wheel 5.7-liter variant). View 9 Photos The Durango SRT is an obvious move for Dodge. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is built on the same platform in the same factory in Detroit, already has an SRT model. With rumors of a Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee swirling and another Demonic Challenger on the way, the Durango was overdue for an engine upgrade. "When we launched the Durango in 2014, this is the one we really wanted," says Tim Kuniskis, head of FCA US' passenger car brands. There's no doubt this is an enthusiast-oriented SUV. Dodge even went to the trouble of certifying the Durango SRT's 12.9-second quarter-mile time with the NHRA and tested it a Virginia International Raceway. Buy a Durango SRT, and you get a full day at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. When's the last time anyone did all of that with a three-row ute? It certainly looks the part. The hood bulges with new air-ducts to help keep the big Hemi chilled appropriately. There's a new front fascia with more air vents and LED fog lamps. Plus, the grille takes on a menacing new glare with a mesh pattern, and the body gets wider wheel flares. Click through the gallery, it really does look like a Charger from some angles.
Dodge PHEV due in 2022 expected to be the Hornet
Wed, Aug 11 2021A relatively new saga involving hornets in the Pacific Northwest begins with the adjective "murder" and gets worse from there. A relatively dated saga involving hornets in the automotive industry begins with the name "Dodge" and is — or could be — much friendlier to plant and animal life. Last year, former Dodge parent company Fiat Chrysler trademarked the term "Dodge Hornet" for the first time. Two months ago, an Italian publication credited its sources with news that current parent company Stellantis will create a Dodge version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale (pictured) and call it the Hornet. Now, Mopar Insiders picked up on Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares sharing a roadmap of the 20 PHEV and battery-electric vehicles coming our way in the next two years between the company's 14 brands. Dodge merits a single PHEV entry in the 2022 column. MI says this will be the Hornet.   As FCA recast its U.S. lineups to give Dodge more focus and give Chrysler a reason to exist, Dodge lost the Caliber, Nitro, and Journey. The way this new report is put, and as we mused a year ago, the coming Hornet will replace the Journey — a space Dodge could do well to return to. Never given much love by the parent company, the Journey turned into a hoary old thing over its 13 years on the market, but sold in remarkable numbers to the end. According to Car Sales Base, sales increased nearly every year for the first nine years of the Journey's life. Even during the sales decline over the last four years of its production life, the Journey found 298,594 homes in the U.S. More than 12,000 zombie units have been moved off lots this year. A Dodge Hornet likely wouldn't offer the Wal-Mart rollback pricing the Journey was known for. Also, the Hornet would pack in just two rows, whereas the Journey offered three. Nevertheless, we're now talking about three vehicles sharing major internal organs; the Alfa Romeo Tonale leans heavily on the Jeep Compass platform and internals, and the Dodge is expected to be built at the same Naples, Italy plant as the Alfa Romeo. The economies of scale are there. As for powertrain, we know there's a Tonale PHEV coming, but it's thought to get its plug-in system from the Jeep Renegade 4xe that's based around the smaller 1.3-liter four-cylinder with either 190 or 240 total horsepower instead of the larger 2.0-liter engine in the Wrangler 4xe.
Jay Leno drives the Demon-powered SpeedKore carbon fiber Dodge Charger
Wed, Mar 13 2019Jay Leno drives all sorts of wild vehicles on his TV and YouTube series "Jay Leno's Garage," from concept cars to classics. Although many of the vehicles are museum quality, they don't all come through in straight by-the-book factory form, as Leno often likes to highlight the creative and insane builds from premium speciality aftermarket shops. One of his favorites is SpeedKore, which recently dropped by with its carbon-fiber-bodied 1970 Dodge Charger Evolution. After cementing itself as one of the best builds of the year at SEMA 2018, the high-performance Charger paid Leno a visit to show off its immaculately assembled blend of classic and modern Dodge. It's not the first time SpeedKore has stopped by, as they've previously shot videos together of the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and the 1970 Dodge Charger Tantrum. The Charger featured here wears its Evolution name because it is an updated take on the Tantrum build (which had 1,650 horsepower, by the way), but the two are quite different. The Charger Evolution uses numerous parts from Dodge's recent superstars, the Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Challenger SRT Demon. In fact, it's one of the only ways in the world to drive a Demon engine with a manual transmission. Under the hood is the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8 from a Demon pre-production car, and SpeedKore has tuned it up to 966 horsepower. It pairs with a Tremec M6 6060 six-speed transmission from the Hellcat. At full bore, the whine of the supercharger paired with the grumble from the custom stainless steel SpeedKore exhaust headers makes for a thrilling, if not unharmonized, battle cry. Whereas some restomods have cut corners, shoddy build quality, or imperfect fittings, Leno notes that SpeedKore's work is top-notch, despite the entire exterior body and many pieces of the interior being fully replaced with glossy clear-coated exposed carbon fiber. According to SpeedKore Vice President Dave Salvaggio, the Charger weighs about 3,400 pounds. Check out the full video above or read full details from our time with the car at SEMA. And as a bonus, Autoblog photographer Drew Phillips recently got to spend a day shooting the Charger. His gallery of photos appears below.
