Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages

Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Dodge Colt Vista

The partnership between Chrysler and Mitsubishi started way back in 1971 and led to plenty of Mitsubishis being sold in the United States as Chryslers, Dodges, Plymouths, and Eagles (plus the use of Mitsubishi engines in all manner of Chrysler-built vehicles). The Colt name – used on a series of Galant-, Lancer-, and Mirage-based cars – became a fairly successful brand for Chrysler, and so it was slapped on Dodge- and Plymouth-badged Mitsubishi Chariots. The Colt Vista wasn't a huge sales success, and you won't see many today, but they had a certain following. Here's a rare '90 that I spotted in a Minneapolis self-service wrecking yard over the summer. Just 114k miles on this one, but the rust got pretty bad and that's the most likely culprit for its junkyardization. These cars made good family haulers, although you wouldn't find many of their 2016 counterparts sporting three pedals. Turbo Tom kept it going for quite a while, but rust never sleeps in Minnesota. Explore Dom's 1970 'off-road' Dodge Charger from Furious 7

The Aficionauto, Christopher Rutkowski, already drove Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious and Fast Five. Now he's returning to the franchise for an interview with Dennis McCarthy, the vehicle coordinator on the last five Fast and Furious films, plus a close look at the custom off-road Charger that's one of the automotive stars in Furious 7. Given his resume, when McCarthy admits this is his new all-time favorite vehicle from the franchise, it really means something. Don't worry. McCarthy is careful not to spoil any of the film's action while he shows off the Charger and Shaw's fast attack vehicle that takes on the Dodge. This looks like a fantastic blockbuster movie season for anyone that loves to watch cars crash and explode on the big screen. Furious 7 is in theaters right now, and based on the trailer, it promises the biggest stunts ever from the long-running franchise. And in just a few weeks, Mad Max: Fury Road hits cinemas to add a dystopian tinge to the automotive action.
