2009 Dodge Challenger R/t on 2040-cars
Findlay, Ohio, United States
Per the window sticker ($35,975), options on this car include the Customer Preferred Package (6 speaker premium stereo, automatic headlamps, heated front seats, leather trimmed bucket seats, power heated mirrors, and other misc. - $1,935), 6 speed manual transmission with Track Pak (3.73 axle ratio, anti-spin differential, custom floor pedals - $995), power sunroof ($950), hood to fender stripes ($200), and premium 20" wheels ($1,350). The R/T package comes with many features, too numerous to list (please refer to the Dodge web site to see the list of features of the R/T model). After-market options include custom stripes (professionally installed - $945), Magnaflow performance duel exhausts ($1,525) and K&N air intake ($250). My wife has quit her full time job and is starting her own business, so until her work gets off the ground, we are unfortunately selling some toys, this being one of them. That is the only reason for this sale. This car runs flawlessly, and has no known issues. Always garaged kept and stored during the winters - it has never seen snow and rain only a very few times. I am 52 years old and my co-worker that I bought it from (who ordered it new) is a few years older, so this car has never been abused and has received great care. You won't be disappointed with it. There are a couple minor blemishes in the paint. One is on the very tip of the passenger side rear view mirror, where possibly a bike knicked the tip. Too small to appear in a photo. Another surface scratch about 2 inches long on the driver's side, not through the paint. Both probably could be fixed for $100, but they have been too minor for me to do anything about but I want to provide a full disclosure. Also, I apologize for the quality of the attached photos, they didn't come out as well as I had hoped for. I took them myself and the sunlight made the interior color appear to be grey, but it's black (even though it's called slate grey). Thanks for looking and feel free to call me at 419 957 2441 if you have questions. |

Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Dodge celebrates centennial with Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions
Tue, 19 Nov 2013In 1914, the Dodge brothers went from being a parts supplier to a full-scale automaker, and to celebrate the centennial of this milestone, Dodge will offer special editions of the 2014 Charger and Challenger early next year. Both cars will be sold in limited numbers (although no specific number was given), and these cars will stand out thanks to unique touches like 20-inch wheels, 100th anniversary edition logos and the exclusive High Octane Red Pearl Coat paint job (shown above).
The 100th Anniversary Edition package, which runs $2,200 on the 2014 Charger and $2,500 on the 2014 Challenger, comes with red or black leather seats with a cloud print (for a denim-like look) and metal badges on the seatbacks that read "Dodge Est. 1914," while similar logos are also found on the wheel center caps and front fenders. The instrument gauges are unique to each car, with the Charger getting black gauges and the Challenger getting white gauges, and to enunciate the 100-year anniversary, both cars have red numerals on the speedometer for the 100-mile-per-hour mark.
Finishing off the 100th Anniversary Edition cars, which will be offered on V6 and R/T models, Dodge adds a flat-bottom steering wheel and embroidered floor mats as a part of the package. Scroll down for the full press release for these commemorative models.
Jay Leno gets his denim mitts on Dodge's new Challenger Hellcat
Mon, 04 Aug 2014The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is definitely the performance car of the moment. The fact that in the near future, people will be able to buy a 707-horsepower muscle machine straight from a major automaker for $59,995 and with a factory warranty almost seems absurd. We drove it recently and found the Hellcat to be just as much of a beast as its numbers would suggest. Now, it's a certain comedian's turn behind the wheel in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage.
This week's guest is Dodge President and CEO Tim Kuniskis, and he's there to drop all sorts of interesting factoids about the Hellcat. For example, its Pirelli P Zero tires retail at around $300 each, he says. That makes its smoky burnouts a rather expensive proposition. Kuniskis, who recently hinted at a mystery Woodward Dream Cruise debut, also talks about the genesis of the 2015 SRT project with a goal to get over some of the standard Challenger's weight and size disadvantages. The fix is a supercharged V8, massive brakes and other goodies to smooth over the platform's more glaring shortcomings.
Leno appears to get a big kick out of the Hellcat. However, he can't seem to stop bringing up his desire to drive one with a six-speed manual. They obviously exist, but Kuniskis has an eight-speed automatic for the retired Tonight Show host to try out. Of course, as with any Hellcat video, there has to be at least one burnout. Despite the expensive tires, it seems like enthusiast's law at this point - and dear ol' Jay wouldn't want to break any rules, would he?
