1973 Dodge Challenger With 340 on 2040-cars
Kennewick, Washington, United States
We are selling a very clean 1973 Dodge Challenger. It has been fully mechanically updated with roller rockers, Edelbrock Perform RPM manifold and cam, Edelbrock carb, headers to a 2.5" exhaust and Davis Unified Igintion, 727 auto transmission with a slap stick shifter, new Mickey Thompson tires with Centerline wheels.
The paint is 2001 Ford Mustang yellow with clear. The strobe on sides is hand stenciled rather than a decal. The paint is amazing, flawless and done by a local shop renowned for their attention to detail and quality of work. Were this paint job to be reproduced today by a quality shop it would be in the $8,000 range. It runs and drives perfect and for all of you wondering, I would not hesitate to drive it long distance. All of the rubber and bushings in the suspension have been replaced along with the weatherstripping. The exhaust sounds great, the interior is great, the engine pulls hard...what's not to love? There aren't a lot of Challengers of this vintage out there, especially one that has been cared for and restored with this level of detail and workmanship. Please message me with any questions. This vehicle is for sale outside of eBay as well and the auction could be terminated without prior warning. The Buyer acknowledges that the Vehicle is being sold “as is,” without warranty, whether express or implied, about the condition of the Vehicle. The Buyer must satisfy himself as to what is offered for sale, and by purchasing will be held to have satisfied himself that the Vehicle is satisfactory in all respects. All defects and repairs are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. The Seller neither assumes, nor authorizes any other person or entity to assume on his behalf, any liability in connection with the sale of the Vehicle. The Seller’s disclaimers of warranty do not affect the terms or applicability of any warranty from the Vehicle’s manufacturer that may be applicable to the Vehicle. |

Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
Gauging reaction to the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit on Detroit highways
Sat, Feb 7 2015Steven Ewing and I kind of pretended to be cops a few weeks ago. No, not in the illegal way; we just took turns driving the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit around Detroit and its suburbs, learning invaluable life lessons along the way. A lot of those lessons came in the form of weird reactions from other drivers. Steve peeved his neighbors by surprising them in the parking lot, I can damn close to sitting in jail next to a murderer and we both caught our fair share of evil-eyed glances. One of my very first observations was a pronounced "bubble effect" when driving in traffic on the highway. Attempting to recreate the effect for the video camera, I grabbed Senior Producer Chris McGraw and we went for a ride in the name of pseudo psychology. The results weren't exactly as we'd predicted, but we had fun all the same. Get one more dose of your cop car fix, above.
Old Dodge vans are big in Japan
Fri, Sep 23 2016One of the great things about Japan and its car culture is that it plays host to some of the most unusual and unique vehicle trends in the world. Whether it's neon-clad Lamborghinis or luxury sedans with insane negative camber, the country always seems to have something new up its sleeve. One of the most surprising trends is track-ready, full-size Dodge vans called Dajibans, and the video above presents a great look at these absurd machines. This isn't the first time we've covered these racing Dodge vans, but it's a subculture too awesome not to merit a second look. For one thing, just as American fans of Japanese cars here like to use JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) parts on their cars, the owners of these Dodges like to use American parts. Many of the vans feature Little Tree air fresheners inside and even have Spectre air filters on the intakes. Who would've thought there would be a market for Autozone's bread and butter auto accessories? Plus, these vans get some other impressive mods. Notice that some vans that appear to have stock metal bumpers, but they're actually fiberglass replicas in the original shape and given a chrome-like paint job. The video's host, an Australian drift fanatic named Alexi who lives in Japan and runs website called Noriyaro.com, gets some great onboard footage, too. One of the vans he rides along in is powered by a generally stock 318 Dodge V8, and still has the original automatic transmission and column shifter. Impressively, the driver manages to manually shift it without grabbing the wrong gear, and even rev matches the shifts. Alexi explains that the driver can catch neutral in-between gears three and two, so there's a brief moment where he can blip the throttle. There's even more information in the video, and it's all fantastic fun to watch. If you decide you haven't seen enough of Dajibans, you can also check out our previous post on it, which is more polished and provides some history and context to the trend.
