Originally 340 car. Restored on a rotisserie where all the metal work was addressed. It has been fitted with a 2007 fuel injected 5.7 Hemi engine and automatic transmission. All new suspension with rack and pinion steering.The paint is very good but not perfect. The project stalled when it was discovered that the transmission won't shift properly without changing the wiring harness, You can shift it manually but it won't go into overdrive. Talked to Hotwire.com they have what is needed for about 1200 Included with the sale is an old school 727 transmission that should bolt up. Then the speedo could be then be hooked in. The gauges need to be hooked up yet and the console that is in it is for a 4 speed. Fresh interior. Car has front disc brakes with rear drums. New gas tank w/high pressure fuel pump and new lines. Dual exhaust and Magnaflow mufflers. Tue, Sep 30 2014A Kentucky man has converted his 1939 Dodge pickup to an electric vehicle. Al Gajda of Lexington built the electric truck, which he now uses as his daily driver. "I take advantage of any excuse to drive it; just banging around town, errands, short runs on the interstate, delivering my granddaughter to school in the morning," he says. It is powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery, which is mounted in a wooden box on the truck bed, and gets about 100 miles per charge. Read more at the Lexington Herald-Leader. Production of the Toyota Rav4 EV has ended. The shipment of the final Toyota EVs concludes Toyota's deal to source batteries from Tesla. Cadillac will likely show an improved version of the ELR at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The 2016 ELR will include unspecified "engineering enhancements," according to Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell. Uber executives, along with Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, have announced a major expansion of the ride-hailing company's Chicago headquarters. Uber also plans to add 420 jobs by the end of 2016. "Uber's new expanded headquarters will allow the company to continue its rapid growth and serve its riders and drivers throughout Illinois," says Governor Quinn. NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
