She has just undergone a beautiful and well documented ground up full restoration.
The carefully applied R4 red paint , striping and rechromed bumpers make a brilliant statement. A rear spoiler on the deck lid and quarter panel scoops add an aggressive look. Even the windshield and side windows were all replaced to bring the R/T into top form.
The center console bucket seat cabin features new Legendary interior components including seat covers, headliner, and carpeting. The car retains the original excellent condition door panels. Best news, she is equipped with the most sought after comfort option, air conditioning. Even the gauges have been refaced, reconditioned and recalculated.
The detailed engine bay reveals a fully rebuilt 383 Magnum motor which is performing like 1971 all over again. Rebuilt Carter AVS four barrel carburetor with plated parts. New A/C condenser, compressor and expansion valve. New hoses, belts, fuel lines and brake lines have all been added. The freshly rebuilt transmission is the most popular 4 speed manual and is shifty through the gears smoothly. Rear end set up is a 8 3/4 with a 3:23 posi. 11" drums are fitted with new wheel cylinders, shocks and new parking brake cable. The ball joints and control arm bushing where also replaced. The exhaust system is new, sourced from Accurate Exhaust and the entire package rests on new 15 x 7 rally wheels with 235 x 70 x R15 BF Goodrich radial tires.

It ain't easy keeping a Hellcat steady at 170 mph on ice
Mon, Mar 28 2016The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat you see hit the ice at Arsunda Speed Weekend in Sweden, over two hours north of Stockholm. It's said to be bone stock, save for the studded tires that help it grip on ice. But it apparently takes more than some steel studs and a lead foot to keep it pointed the right way. Just look at how much driver Alx Danielsson has to saw at the wheel to keep the Hellcat from veering off course. Fortunately he seems to have the chops to do so, being not only a native of Sweden (and therefor imbued from birth with otherworldly abilities to drive on ice) but also having won the highly competitive Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship back in 2006. In the end Danielsson hit a top speed in excess of 170 miles per hour, touted as some sort of record, however unofficial (and specific to Dodge Challengers). That's a fair bit shy of the 205 mph that Bentley achieved in the Continental Supersports, but while that model had slightly less power than the Hellcat, it did have the benefit of all-wheel drive – something that could make all the difference in these kinds of slippery conditions. Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
Chrysler recalling over 280k minivans because airbags may deploy on wrong side
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Chrysler has issued a recall for some 2013 Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram C/V Tradesman vans built between May 10, 2012 and June 7, 2013. These vehicles may have a software error that would cause the wrong side (opposite side) airbags to deploy in a crash. With this defect, a left-side impact would cause the right-side airbag to deploy, etc.
The recall affects 281,500 vehicles in total: 224k in the US, 49,300 in Canada, 2,900 in Mexico and 5,300 in other locations. Chrysler will notify owners of effected vehicles, and reflash the offending occupant restraint control module to resolve the issue.
