Hi and thanks for looking. This is a great and original 1970 RT SE 440 U code Challenger. I am the third owner. The first owner from Washington State drove it from 1970-1981 and put on 53000 miles on it when he sold it to another gentleman in eastern Oregon where it sat in his personal from 1981-2004. I bought it in 2004 and it has sat in my heated garage since then and it now has 53700 miles so it has sat about 33 years. The good thing about that is it has not gotten all beat up over the years but the bad is everything leaked from drying out gaskets. So last year I started going through everything starting with the original engine. I sent it to a speed shop in Phoenix that does a lot of Mopar engines and had it baked ,tumbled, bored out with new pistons, rings, new purple 484 lift Mopar cam and lifters. The complete assembly was then balanced plus all new cam,rod and main Clevette 77 bearings and Melling high volume oil pump. The 906 heads were completely gone through with hardened seats and new springs, keepers etc. Also had the original Carter AVS carb rebuilt. The motor runs great. Next I had the 727 automatic rebuilt with a shift kit and new torque converter and it shifts great. Next I had the original rear end taken out and cleaned and resealed. It has the 489 case and Sur-Grip (Positrac) with the 3.55 gears. I then put new shocks painted black just like the originals were. I then put in a new exhaust system just like the original that was removed with the resonators and all. The tips are the original ones. I also put in a new gas tank and straps. I had the power steering box rebuilt the power steering pump rebuilt using the original casing. Then went through the entire AC system with rebuilt pump, new drier, new condenser,NOS heater valve, new heater core and had the evaporator cleaned and checked.also rebuilt the ac heater box with new foam kit and it looks great. This car also comes with the very rare space saver spare and jack assembly. The windshield was replaced a long time ago and is tinted as are all the rest of the original windows from the factory and they all look new.Inside the car is almost all original except for the new Legendary seat covers and foam that matched the original I took out. I still have the original seat covers that go with the car. The upholsterer through away the drivers seat because it had a tear in the seam but you get all I have. I also put in new carpet from Legendary but have the old if you want it as it was kind of faded. I also put in new door sills but everything else is original like the headliner door panels, kick panels, console, dash, rim blow steering wheel which I had redone by Mopar wheels in Arizona and they did a great job and the horn works great. The dash has never been out and all the gauges work fine but the clock will work for a couple of days and quite for a day so it will need cleaned at least and there is a small crack in the dash top by the center speaker.. It also has a thumbwheel AM FM radio that works. This car has 2 fender tags. This is from Galen Goviers report starting with E86-440 1-4 barrel 375hp V8 engine "440 MAGNUM" . I forgot to say I also put on a new Legendary Vinyl top as the old one was a little faded at the bottom. Also the original buzzer for the key and if you leave the lights on still works fine. So here is a super nice and original 1970 R/T SE 440 U code with original paint and motor and almost everything else. I have driven this car about 390 miles in the last month and it is a blast which is 390 miles farther than it has been driven in the last 35 years. If you are looking for an rare and original R/T SE 440 that looks just like it did in 1970 and has not been all rusted out or a 318 car with a 440 or new hemi installed and all hacked up then this car is for you.If I have forgot something you can call me at 208 863 1430 my name is Doug. I am very realistic on the price for such a nice car. I am selling it because my daughter is getting her license and so there will be no room for this classic at my shop or home. I may be interested in a newer VW beatle conv, or a newer VW Jetta as partial trade. Thanks

1970 Hemi Challenger is a family heirloom with serious muscle
Wed, Dec 30 2015Petrolicious turns up the emotion in its latest video about a family's connection to their 1970 Dodge Challenger. The orange muscle car that gets the spotlight here is a remarkably beautiful vehicle, but the story of a father and his sons at the core of this clip might leave you feeling a little misty eyed. Juan Escalante is the current owner of this Challenger, but it belonged to his dad first. Juan's father spotted the iconic muscle car during the 1969 Detroit Auto Show and had to have one. He soon placed an order for the orange '70 Challenger R/T with the rare combination for that year of a 426 Hemi V8 and a four-speed manual gearbox. The family even brought the coupe with them when they moved to Venezuela in 1972, and local fans dubbed it El Hemi. However, parts were scarce for the muscle car in that country, and it returned to the US in 1996 for a restoration. Now, the rumbling Challenger with its Coke-bottle profile and black hood is the world's most awesome family heirloom for the Escalantes. In this poignant video, Petrolicious shows how the coupe connects Juan to his father. Related Video:
Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome
Tue, 24 Dec 2013Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...
SRT partners with Bondurant for performance driving classes
Fri, Nov 6 2015Dodge and Bob Bondurant have announced a new partnership that will see the latter become the former's official high-performance driving school. The deal will see the Bondurant school's entire fleet of nearly 100 vehicles switched over from mostly General Motors products to Dodge Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers. It will give paying customers the chance to drive models like the new Hellcats and even the Viper ACR (for those deemed qualified to drive it) on the track in Arizona. The arrangement won't only benefit Bondurant clients, though. Anyone who buys or leases a new SRT model will get a one-day course at the school, including professional instruction on track. They'll have to pay for their own travel and accommodations, but the instruction will hopefully show more drivers of SRT vehicles how to handle all that muscle they've got at their disposal.
