Here is a rare opportunity to own a Legendary Race car and a significant piece of Mopar history! This is not only a real R-code '70 Challenger, 1 of only 137 4-spd cars built, but it's also the Swift Dodge PDQ car driven by Lee Cameron in the NHRA S/S class during the early '70's and a major contender at the World Finals in Dallas in 1970. Lee sold the car to Dick Landy in the early '70's and Dick went through the car and built his own DLI hemi for it as well as putting the '71 grille in the fiberglass frontend. This car is one of the rarest e-body Dodges in existence. It still retains the Dick Landy hemi engine as well as all the DLI paperwork. After Dick Landy's time with the car it went to Hawaii where it was raced through the '80's then sat in storage until about 5 years ago. It has been kept inside my shop out of the weather now and has all the old original Dick Landy motor parts inside the car in boxes, with the shortblock still in the engine compartment. It needs a total restoration. Most of all the critical parts are all here, and it still retains its original body parts. Includes fender tag and paperwork, as well as Galen Report and original Broadcast sheet. Several pages of DLI original invoices are included in the file as well. This is a very heavily documented car.

Dodge Viper production to end after 2017
Tue, Jun 21 2016We can't say we're surprised, but we're still saddened to report that the Dodge Viper will not live on past the 2017 model year. It's had a solid 25-year run, though, and that's worth celebrating. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles does just that for the Viper's final model year, with five special editions (some of which seem less special than others, admittedly): The 1:28 Edition ACR, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, VoooDoo II Edition ACR, Snakeskin Edition GTC, and Dodge Dealer Edition ACR. Instead of running through what makes each of these 2017 Vipers special, we'll direct your attention to the press release below and the images above. All but the Dodge Dealer Edition commemorate memorable Viper models of the past 25 years, and the GTS-R is probably the pick of the litter with its classic blue-on-white paint scheme. Unless you prefer to err on the side of gaudy, in which case Dodge has you (and your car) covered with Snakeskin Green. If none of these special-edition Viper models strikes your fancy but you'd still like to park a 2017 Viper in your garage, fret not. Dodge is still offering its "1 of 1" customization program for the Viper's final year of production. Finally, instead of dwelling on the past, even when that past is as exciting as the Viper's, let's choose to look to the future with the only logical question left unanswered: What's next? Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car is ready to burn rubber at SEMA [w/video]
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The Dodge Charger R/T is all set to rocket down the drag strip in NHRA Funny Car competition with a completely redesigned body debuting at this year's SEMA Show. While only the front decal, side scallops and rear logo really signal this racer as a Charger, that doesn't take away from its promise of hitting absolutely ludicrous speeds.
The engineers' biggest tweak to the body was moving the cockpit further back. This created more clearance under the hood, and the change came with added advantage of giving the driver better visibility out of the car. Composites like Kevlar also helped make the one-piece shell even lighter, while not sacrificing strength.
The new design has already undergone extensive time in the wind tunnel and real-world runs to make sure that none of the changes negatively impacted the aerodynamics. With those tests out of the way, the Charger R/T Funny Car will have the first chance to truly prove itself in NHRA competition at the 2015 Winternationals from February 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.
