This is not only one of the very rare (1 of 127) 1970 Challenger R/T convertibles built with a 440 Magnum & 727 auto.,  it has the very desirable "Q" on the original fender tag which makes it a  very rare "PUBLIC RELATIONS CAR" & highly collectible . There were only about 5 of these built!

Public relations cars were very limited production & were built to showcase a new model.  Most came in very loud colors & nearly every option available. Chrysler used them for various forms of promotion like......major auto shows,  displays in an high-traffic area,  T.V. commercials,  T.V. shows,  posters,  given to v.i.p.'s,   magazine road tests etc.. After they were used by Chrysler, they were usually sold through a "Chrysler-dealer-only sale".

Galen Govier has done a full inspection to verify this cars authenticity (full report is included with the car). It does have it's original engine,  original fender tags, original vin tag, original body numbers, original door vin decal & retains all its correct options.

This "rotisserie" restoration was just completed & the car has less than 20 miles since done. No options were deleted or added- it  was restored to it's original P.R. trim....440 Magnum, 727 torqueflite auto., 3.55 sure-grip rear end, FE5 red paint, white conv. top, white side stripe, hood pins, dual painted ext. mirrors, luggage rack, chrome exh. tips, SE ext. trim, 14" road wheels, white letter poly glass tires, air conditioning, pwr. top, pwr. steering, pwr. disc brakes, pwr. windows, cruise control, rim-blow steering wheel,  AM/FM, rally gauges w/tach, woodgrain console & bucket seats, 6-way drivers seat, deluxe seat belts, delayed headlights,  light package & I'm probably forgetting something. Everything works except the air has not been charged yet.

I located the gentleman that owned this car for about 5 years in the late 70's & as it turns out, he lives about 50 miles from me.  He (Ted) came by for a visit after I contacted him & was good enough to bring an 8 x 10 color copy of a photo of this car in the 1976 Omaha autorama car show to add to the folder!   I also have an original carbon copy of a letter he wrote to Chrysler customer service on March 5th 1977 asking about the car's rarity & collectability and,  I also have a copy of the letter they wrote him 3 weeks later!!  It basically states they can't comment on the value etc. & gives basic info on challenger convertables. He knew this was a very special & rare car even when it was only 7 years old!!   Ted sold it in about 1980 to a person in Arizona where it sat in a garage until about 7-8 years ago, then to Kansas where the restoration was started a couple years ago. The pictures don't do it justice- it is VERY nice!!

I'm able to provide personal, prompt, enclosed delivery and/or willing to arrange transport. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks- Paul 402-202-2263.

I may take a partial trade (realistic trades), i.e. other muscle cars, hemi parts, freshwater bass/fish-ski boat?, 1985 & older motorcycles?? Thanks again

We cruised Woodward in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/video]

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

We were definitely rock stars at the 20th edition of the Dream Cruise.
The yell came from somewhere in the crowd: "Hey Hellcat, push it!" We obliged with a jab of the throttle, and the 707 horses of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roared to life. It went on like this. All weekend. It's one thing to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, it's quite another to star in it.

2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Quick Spin

Thu, Jun 18 2015

"Scat Pack" is plucked from The Big Book of Dodge Nameplates to describe what is basically the average of the Charger R/T and Charger SRT 392. Unnecessary horsepower always seems to go down better with a dose of heritage. If you think it's a silly name, just be thankful Dodge didn't call it an S/RT or an R/T-S. In previous years, a similar formulation was known as the SRT8 Super Bee. Going by another name, it's still as sweet and wears the same hurried-looking pollinator on the grille. We do wonder: What has displeased him so, and why does he have wings and wheels? The packaging is at least fresh. All Chargers get updates for 2015, including improved interiors and a Dart-on-steroids exterior redo. The new lines work especially well on the more aggressive models, including this Scat Pack car. Like the Super Bee before it, the Scat Pack gets the 6.4-liter engine from SRT 392; for 2015 it gets a slight output boost to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, respective increases of 15 and 5. It does without the SRT three-mode suspension and comes with cloth seats (leather is an option) to keep the price down. The Scat Pack also has slightly smaller Brembo front brakes, narrower wheels, and different rubber. It does, however, cost eight grand less and is just as quick in a straight line. Intriguing. Driving Notes Scat Pack cars get an electronically controlled active exhaust that we'd call hyperactive. It's loud all the time, opening its widest at startup, idle, and when you ask for any appreciable amount of power. Sport mode supposedly makes a difference, but we couldn't discern loud from louder. It's a delicious and appropriate loudness, with a brassy trumpet tone to it, and the engine makes top-fuel noises at full tilt. The squeal of the rear tires can be heard from every stoplight no matter the road conditions. A light touch avoids leaving a mark if you're so inclined. We weren't. When the tires eventually smear into the realm of traction, this thing is pretty quick – hitting 60 miles per hour takes 4.5 seconds. There's also an adjustable launch control mode if you want to cut out some of the wheelspin. The eight-speed transmission shifts smoothly. Quicker, more-palpable shifts are had in Sport mode, but occasionally the transmission still needs a moment to drop down from seventh or eighth when you mash the throttle. Despite its two overdrive gears, this Charger is still loud on the highway. In a good way. Probably.

Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
