I have for sale my 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T with a numbers matching 440 4bbl engine, torqueflite transmission,
factory air conditioning, and power steering, bucket seats, and slap-stick shifter. I have converted the original 4
wheel drum brakes to front wheel disc brakes. (I still have the original drums).
The car was originally sold by my grandfather who owned A Chrysler Dealership in Madera, CA. It was later traded in
in 1975 and has been in my family ever since. My uncle did a restoration to the car in 1989. The car runs good,
everything on it works. This is a Central Valley car that has spent the last 25 years indoors and is rust free. It
is ready as a driver right now. I also have it listed on Craigslist. Thanks for looking!
Added: 12/1/2015. Here is more detail that I responded to one member's question with. I thought I would include it.
It is also shown below as well.
*Hello, everything works on the car except for the trip meter. I would consider the condition of the car as "A
Driver". However, it is complete and numbers matching and everything works. It had a period restoration back in
1988. At that time it received a reproduction interior kit with seat covers, carpet and dash pad. The gauges are
perfect, the dash pad is perfect, the radio is perfect and works, the seats and seat covers are perfect, the
windshield is perfect, the side glass is slightly scratched by the window rubber but do work, all the glass is the
original glass, the console is good, the wood decal on the console is bubbled, the seat backs and door panels have
scratches in the plastic that were then repainted in 1988. The carpet is sound but does exhibit some fading and
discoloration. The headliner is perfect and all the interior trim and metal is perfect and not pitted. The steering
wheel is not cracked and is complete. The steering wheel does have some discoloration on the spokes but the rubber
is not brittle. As far as the exterior: The doors are original metal and there is no rust, the hood, front fenders,
rear quarters, deck lid and bumpers are all original to the car and have no rust or damage. The trunk has no rust
and had a new trunk pan installed in 1988. The tires where new in 2010 and have seen less than 200 miles. The paint
is in good condition. There is no fading, peeling, bubbling, or scratches. It is glossy and complete. I do feel
like it could use a good wet sanding and polish as I believe it got a clear coat with the repaint in 1988 and seems
to be a little thick. All the exterior trim is present and in good condition. The engine was overhauled in 1988
along with the original transmission. In 2010 I added front wheel disc brakes. The car has seen less than 200 miles
since 2010. It has always been a California car and mostly stored inside. Please let me know if you have any other
questions.

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.

Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months

Wed, Dec 31 2014

Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all. Stellantis expects to hit emissions target without Tesla's help

Tue, May 4 2021

Franco-Italian carmaker Stellantis expects to achieve its European carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions targets this year without environmental credits bought from Tesla, its CEO said in an interview published on Tuesday. Stellantis was formed through the merger of France's PSA and Italy's FCA, which spent about 2 billion euros ($2.40 billion) to buy European and U.S. CO2 credits from electric vehicle maker Tesla over the 2019-2021 period. "With the electrical technology that PSA brought to Stellantis, we will autonomously meet carbon dioxide emission regulations as early as this year," Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares said in the interview with French weekly Le Point. "Thus, we will not need to call on European CO2 credits and FCA will no longer have to pool with Tesla or anyone." California-based Tesla earns credits for exceeding emissions and fuel economy standards and sells them to other automakers that fall short. European regulations require all car manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions for private vehicles to an average of 95 grams per kilometer this year. A Stellantis spokesman said the company is in discussions with Tesla about the financial implications of the decision to stop the pooling agreement. "As a result of the combination of Groupe PSA and FCA, Stellantis will be in a position to achieve CO2 targets in Europe for 2021 without open passenger car pooling arrangements with other automakers," he added. Tesla's sales of environmental credits to rival automakers helped it to announce slightly better than expected first-quarter revenue this week. The next tightening of European regulations will soon be the subject of proposals from the European Commission. The 2030 target could be lowered to less than 43 grams/km.
