 EXPORT, NO PROBLEM...

Serious Opportunity. This is a very rare Low Vin Series 1 240Z in Excellent restored, low mile condition. Classic Z car has been well loved and it shows. This is a very collectable low vin early Z... Series 1 cars are very rare especially in this unmolested condition. This little Z is a really fun and FAST driver. Looks, runs, feels, and drives fantastic. Excellent weekend cruiser, show car or addition to any collection.... daily driver if you like while it increases in value... :) A true head turner and a blast to drive. I am listing this car for one week in AS IS condition... the roof sustained minor damage from a chain during trailer transport... I am waiting for an insurance settlement and will sell the car as is for a drastically reduced price... if it does not sell this week, I will repair it and raise the sale price very substantially... This is a real opportunity.

Body is super straight with no collision damage that I can see. Excellent driver quality repaint presents beautifully with only the most minor blemishes. Seams and rubbers are excellent and the body, trim, moldings etc are well in tact and in great shape. Correct D hub caps on steel wheels with new tires... Obviously the roof will need repair and
the floors are a little weak on the underside and could be replaced at some point...

Series 1 Interior is excellent and correct. Seats, Panels, headliner, and dash look great with a nice dash cover. Gauges and electronics work properly. It is an AC car with the compressor removed... under dash components are in tact.

Matching numbers L24 Motor with coveted E31 head starts, runs, and idles excellent... Super responsive and nicely tuned. Custom exhaust sounds great and feels extremely strong. 4 Speed trans  shifts smooth through the gears. Suspension
has been redone and feels tight and handles excellent. Goes down the road straight with no wiggles, shimmies, or shakes... Stops straight and sure. EXCELLENT, FAST driver.

Overall this is an excellent investment quality classic series 1 Z in awesome restored condition all around... it is extremely well maintained and nicely preserved. Awesome weekend cruiser, or show car. I am a Z collector... this is a great one for any Z car enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool, original vintage sports car at a great price.

The car is located in Beverly Hills... Inspections are welcome and encouraged... serious buyers can call me at 310 850 8980 but no tire kickers please. I'm open to interesting trades (in accordance with ebay guidelines) but no projects or junk please.

This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Check out this video from Petrolicious for a father and son who both find something to love in these classic Japanese coupes.

Malaise Era All-Stars

Fri, 17 May 2013

A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:
